Yea I never understood their fixation about Rainbow DK, sure it's cool and new unique way to win games but warped design in this class way too much. There's simply no breathing room for any other archetype
Rainbow was fun when it was this niche silly thing to try work. Now all they do is print support for it so when it rotates what happens. Do they bring back triple runes or just keep printing support for something that doesn’t exist
i really hate how the point of rainbow DK was that you would play a suboptimal deck with a potential massive payoff (even though it didn't pan out), similar to highlander or odd/even decks, but they decided to just print a bunch of rainbow and 1-rune cards for no reason, which end up not synergizing with a pure rainbow deck and instead are just jammed into any DK deck because why not, killing the 3-rune decks while NOT encouraging Necrotic Explosion decks.
Imo dk is just bad class design as an 11th class - the rune deck building restriction means that they almost have to try to print 4 classes worth of cards (blood, frost, unholy, and rainbow). And on top of that it’s the 11th class, so they’re already having to make and print even more cards.
I hate what happened to death knight after Climatic Necrotic Explosion, everytime I want to do a full frost or full blood I remember that damn card and what it did to this class, I remember plague death knight and how my blood buff death knight is ACTUALLY a rainbow deck :| You just hate to think about that, and maybe is me being pessimist... But I don't think this new expansion will encourage single rune play style
blood death knight was probably one of the most fun experiences i have had in hearthstone in YEARS when it first came out. it was so fun to just play good control cards that weren't too gimmicky or relying on keyword synergy. and then blizzard immediately rotated a bunch of the key control cards and with every new expansion the blood rune cards are all handbuff and synergy oriented.
we can only pray that blizzard moves away from rainbow dk. my favorite cards are probubly the galakrond cards, galakrond the apocalypse is my favorite of them all because rogue is funny. i really hope galakrond gets more support in the future as they are so much fun to play.
i never really got talking about power creep of cards that sucked. Like, heroes with divine shield is a cool effect that saw no play cuz the two cards it's on are trash - i'm glad they printed a maybe-very-good incarnation of it
Not gonna lie, I really like CNE flavor wise because it covers the strength of each rune in its effect, but I do agree with the whole rant. My favorite card is still Fire Plume's Heart due to how nostalgic I get over JtU and how satisfying it feels to land otks with it alongside the singalong buddy.
Starlight Groove still isn't great but I run it in my Libram paladin. Once a turn divine sheild dream is real and sometimes it makes it hard for combo decks to win
Then why even bother with triple blood, frost or unholy? What was the point if the rune system if EVERY expansion is rainbow focused and we get 0 new triple runes of anything else and barely any double runes. DK was supposed to be a class with three distinct gameplans but currently the class is literally just rainbow.

All they have to do is replace like 6 of runeless/rainbow card into 3 double rune and 3 triple rune cards so each rune would get 1 double and 1 triple. Instead of making every card either runless, 1 rune or 2 mixed runes like they're doing now. There is absolutely 0 need to print 4x cards or even single extra card for DK just to support non rainbow DK lmfao.

People looked at it as Turbo Shadowstep, however, Shadowstep is broken because it's +2 mana multi-purpose card because of 0 cost. Bounce around (ft Garona). Is JUST a value thing, and the mana cheat is not 0, it's to 1, so if u want similar power level to Step you quickly realize that nothing rogue does Will need 6+ cost cards.. Win more, the card. (Ft Garona)
blackrock is gonna be better? uh? What am I missing? I tought it was a 5 mana do nothing card, and i tought you were harsh on those? Is a warrior holding you hostage or smt?
Warrior came make the most use of 5 mana do nothing of basically any class due to cards like From the Depths and armor gain in general, druid is a close second. Warlock has 5 mana do nothing with a similar effect to blackrock and its completely unplayable.
My favorite card was Aegwyn, the one that was in the core set for a long time and gives consistent spell damage. That card was so good in my ever evolving “mage does mage things” deck, especially when the arcane bolt package was in standard. And my favorite card from this video is Jive Insect by far.

My favourite card is bloodreaver Gul’dan and I think that the legendary spells all felt week through there life cycle other than symphony

The theme of these songs are top tier. Climactic necrotic explosion is a fun win condition but you are right that they ruined death night.

Simphony of Sins is played in almost every deck in standard, its happens to be in aggro and combo decks like fatigue and sludge warlock
