    I'm a list girl too. I think the baby lock videos are good for two months. I haven't begun it because I knew I wouldn't be able to get to them, thereby waisting the free two months!

    I do like your top! It's such a pretty color, too 😍 I think shortening the neckband will go a long way to correcting how it lays. The usual formula is 85% of the total circumference of the opening. But there is a lot of variation of stretch in different knits. A little experience with knits will help with judging that part. 😘 And yes, basting first until you get a feel for it does help. I totally get wanting to make ALL the things! Happy weekend and Happy sewing!

    Hi Jacque. Sure enjoyed your video. I think your top is lovely and the color is a good one for you. What a good Bible verse! I also need to work on kindness toward family, especially my husband. I will need to keep Eph. 4:32 in my head and work on the kindness issue. Sewing plans?--I am like Carole, I don't really make plans. I'm one that prefers to go by the seat of my pants. Whatever my mood, is what I will work on. BUT, I do have to get busy and work on period clothing for our annual Rendezvous which is held Memorial weekend. Our church has a booth and those who work have to be dressed in Revolutionary War era clothes. So, I will help with that again this year. I do make mats for the animals at the animal shelter and need to get some done. Thank you for sharing your life with us.

      I want everything in that color now! Haha. I have exactly zero reason to make any period clothing, but I still think about how much I'd love a Pride & Prejudice style dress, or something from the Revolutionary War era, or the 1850s/60s. Even the 1950s. And then I talk myself out of it because my skill level is NOT there and all that fabric for something I'd never wear in real life. I did go to a Rev War reenactment as a teenager. So much fun dressing for it! How cool that your church does that! What a great outreach! 🧵jacque🧵

    I love franklin. I go to a homeschool conference there every year in September. That 6 daughters doughnut shop is the bomb. A once a year treat for sure.

      The donut shop sounds lovely - will have to make sure I hit it up next time I'm over that way! 🧵jacque🧵

    I like your top and it is only minimally gaping. So I hope it doesn’t bother you too much. Enjoy this top, it has a nice colour and shape for you, the fabric looks very comfortable on the skin. So plenty of successes. My tip for neckbands are to make them shorter if I make them from fluid fabric like viscose or modal. Cotton jersey behaves differently. If I draft them myself, I use 80% of the neckopening for cotton, and 75% for viscose jersey. Most of the time I baste my neckbands with the longest stitchlength of my machine on, then check the fit and then run it through the serger. I hope this helps.

      Definitely going to be basting my neckbands - this one looked exactly right when I had it pinned. It's not very far off and it tricked me! But I do love this fabric so much! 🧵jacque🧵

    Hi Jacque, My hubby and I have been sick over the holidays and I am slowly recovering, but he is still not doing well. I haven't set any goals yet because I like to pick and choose things I want to do or make as needed. Kind of similar to Carole. You have set great goals! I think you're blouses, beautiful. We tend to nitpick about things that others would never notice.😅

    It looks like the neckline is just a little big. Rib knit is stretchy. I would probably shorten it by 1/2 inch. Have you tried basted the neck band in first before sewing for reals? I have found that to be helpful and that way if it needs adjusting, it is easier to take apart. I am making the pattern emporium take a chance dress for my Easter dress. The saguaro pants by Friday pattern company is a great pants pattern to dip your toes in. Elastic waist and wide legs. I have made mine in linen. A bag is on my list for sewing this year too. I just made a tote bag and enjoyed that. I think little lizard king has a child size apron pattern. The only Christmas gifts I made is a pair of fairy wings for my youngest granddaughter and little pocket tissue copies for all my adult daughters and daughters in law.

      I am 100% going to baste my necklines - especially when I'm trying a new fabric & pattern. I just looked up the PE dress and I love that! And the LLK apron is darling. She would love that. The saguaros look so comfy! 🧵jacque🧵

    I made my husband and my son's Dopp Kits for Christmas and they loved it.
    Other than that I say I'm going to make my husband something and I haven't made him anything yet, but I do have plans make him something.😅😅😅
    Girl, you had me cracking up with the cat rescue!😅😅😅

      OH!!! The Dopp Kits are a great idea! He would love for me to make him a hoodie or some kind of sweatshirt so we'll see . . . 🧵jacque🧵

    I am trying to plan my makes for the month and to make sure that I allot time to see. I’m also trying to sew from my stash at least until after my birthday. That gives me three months to bust my stash.

    • @thesewingpastorswife
      @thesewingpastorswife  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I still haven't built up a stash - I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Haha. I would be in trouble if stranded with my machines and no way to get new fabric. I'm sure that will change as I keep growing in my sewing journey!🧵jacque🧵

    Your top is very cute. You asked about the slight gaping at the center front. To my eye, it looks like you might need to cut a smaller size through the shoulders and chest but blend to the current size from the bust down, congratulations on your weight loss. You did much better than me. I'd lost about 10 pounds by the end of summer but now it's all back. I need to quit the late night sewing snacks!.

      Ahhhh! I never even thought about that . . . I'll definitely consider that before the next one. Thanks for the tip! 🧵jacque🧵

    The Forte looks good on you! That is one pattern that I made this year and hated. I made the same view as you. It just did not look good on my body shape. 🌸 I think it's great to have a list of goals - I consider it a guideline to keep me inspired when I can't think of anything to make.

      I've spent this week working on something that is NOT on my goals list. Haha. We're snowed/iced in and I'm using what I have here. I don't have a good stash built up so it is what it is. Sigh. 🧵jacque🧵

    I really like the top you're wearing. I think that in order to change the neckline to what you like, you would need to alter the pattern just a bit. And therein lies my problem with patterns! I have so much to learn about fitting. Well, honestly, there IS a lot to learn about fitting. Happy Sewing to you!

    • @thesewingpastorswife
      @thesewingpastorswife  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      SO MUCH TO LEARN! But it definitely keeps sewing from being boring! 🧵jacque🧵

    I’ve learned to make a smaller size in the neck and shoulders. Grade out to fit the rest of me.

      I can't wait to try this pattern again because I really like it. Definitely going to baste the neckline before serging! 🧵jacque🧵

    I really like the Love Notions Duet pants pattern, your neck band needs to be shorter.

      Thanks for the recommendation! I'm a big fan of Love Notions and I thought I had the Duet pants but I don't. STINK! I missed the 30% sale. I'll keep an eye out for them to be a Feature Friday. 🧵jacque🧵
