I use my mock ups for PJs, using vintage sheets from the op shop. With dresses I usually just do the sleeves and bodice and make it a PJ top. I feel better knowing that I can use the practice garment.
Yes great idea! You can feel so wasteful otherwise. I also hate the waste of time spent as well as fabric etc so making a usable garment is the perfect way to go. 😇

Tell Sarah to just keep on having fun with it , she is doing great, confidence will come. your makes are great, love the purple on you and you rocked all those wonderful items. as for me i have a move coming up and a new venture for myself in a beautiful healthy for mind ,body & soul . will need to focus on all of that while trying to catch a few videos here and there.
Hi Catherine, I personally think your Moss jacket looks fine....but if you are not comfortable with it go with the dying suggestions.....and of course I think your leggings are just stunning! Well done Sarah with the cargo shorts and welt pockets .....brave girl indeed. Have been very slack in the sewing den so far this year....did go through my wardrobe and withdrew all the garments I no longer wear - they are currently in a pile on the floor waiting for me to decide whether to repurpose the fabric or just pass them on to a charity........cannot rush these things 🙂 Talk soon Catherine, hope your back to work was okay 🙂
Yes! Clearing out the cupboard is one thing.... but then you have to figure out what to do with all that stuff. I need to clear out my dressing room (spare bedroom) for my father in law can come and stay for a month so I will be doing exactly the same as you 🤦♀️. Uuurrrggghhh. Sarah is a super star. I've always loved the look of the Moss jacket but understand what you mean. It looks good, but maybe the viewer's suggestion of dying it would be fun way to just shake it up a little. I debated between the Moss and the Papercut Juno jacket and eventually went with Juno because I love those pockets, and my sadly missed cat was called Juno, plus I've decided cropped boxy is not a good look on me. I made it in linen, didn't bother with the belt, and love it - can see another one in the future.
Aaawww the name of the jacket is as good s reason as any to make it 🐱. The pockets look a bit tricky on the Juno? Yes I think dying the Moss would be a great thing to do... oohhh perhaps even moss green??? I'd definitely wear that!
I suspect the white linen fabric just doesn’t suit the pattern. That purple tee shirt pattern is quite cool and l love the colour. I think the leggings are fabulous Catherine. Wear them with a longer plain coloured dress in winter or on cooler days. Good luck back at work!
I understand about your jacket but I think its the color. If its linen it will soften in the wash, maybe try pairing it with pink. Not as a dig at you but white really isnt your color, it really washes you out. Perhaps you could dye it, if you use a hot water dye that will also relax the fibers of the linen and help it drape better. I hope I didnt offend you since thats the last thing Id ever do.
