With that VHB that is used, your install process was fine, however, one small change. When you are pulling the red tape, only pull off like 1 foot at a time. As you pull off, hold down firmly the section for 30+ seconds to make sure that the initial adhesion takes. This is very important. I have install similar spoilers on several cars. That initial bite is important.
The glue removers (eg. De-Solv-It, Goo Gone) are the the best way to remove the glue. Spray on and leave it sit for a few minutes. No need to rub or risk damaging the paint surface. Using the rotary brush is a no-no for sure
@@beach26 It works a dream for gluey type substances. In contrast, you can spend ages rubbing it with a cloth or sponge and it still won't fully come off.
@@beach26 No tool required. The glue will disolve / soften and only a paper towel or rag is required to wipe it off. If the glue is very thick then a couple of applications may be required.
When applying the new spoiler, do not remove so much of the adhesive cover to start with. This makes it harder to adjust the placement of the spoiler if it sticks down too soon. Just peel off the the very ends of the adhesive cover first then position the spoiler before pulling the adhesive cover from the top first followed by the bottom one.
I put on an aftermarket spoiler from another company and after 6 months, the 3m tape on the ends has started to loosen. I believe the ends of the spoiler are too pointy to get the proper amount of surface area adhesion.
Just got your spoiler for the YLR. Is the Gyeon ceramic coating for the white leather can be used to coat the spoiler or do I need to purchase another kind?
does the spoiler need to be removed before installation of the Model Y trunk/hatch performance PPF that Tesbros offers (i.e. 2024 Model Y Performance)?
Yes. I would recommend waiting about a week after PPF install to put the spoiler back on. Clean all the adhesive residue off your spoiler and put more adhesive back on like this one - www.amazon.com/Super-Strength-Molding-Tape-03614/dp/B002JOVUO0/ref=sr_1_2
I have a 2019 P3D that is garage kept and 5 months out of warranty. Spoiler is delaminating and Tesla says too bad. What makes me think yours will not delaminate like the original one? Also I have ppf on whole car under the spoiler. How will this effect the removal?
Hi Tesbro, I would like to reinstall my spoiler to my TMY, but the car is wrapped with some foil. My concern is, what do I do if i want to take off my spoiler without damaging the wrap from the heatgun?
Lightly heat, keep the heat moving, work slowly to take it off. But sometimes it’s inevitable that ppf will need to be replaced. It depends on how strong that adhesive is. If you just need that one panel, we do sell individual pre cut parts if you’re interested in the DIY route. Reach out to us at support@tesbros.com and we can give you more info about that process if you were to damage the film and need it replaced
the tape used on the inside of the spoiler? this would be a good one - www.amazon.com/Double-Waterproof-36-5FT-Length-Office/dp/B09CQ8Q875/ref=sr_1_21_sspa
We just got a few in stock actually for the older Model 3! Not many in stock so I would order soon. tesbros.com/products/carbon-fiber-rear-spoiler-for-model-3
It's better to not use a heat gun if the car hasn't been in several seasons of extreme temp. It will leave less slimy gum on the car. And you can use a shoe string.😀
I had 3 spoilers from 3 brands and all fall off in just 3-4 months :( I guess time to get to Tesla and just spend $400 already and get a warranty. Probably already spent that much trying to avoid tesla lol
Sorry about that, but we're working to get those back soon. Enter your email after the "notify when available" button to get the earliest updates on it: tesbros.com/products/carbon-fiber-rear-spoiler-for-model-y
It's 5 inches for the Model 3 and about 6.5 for the Model Y. I would measure, mark with frog tape, set the spoiler on without peeling the backing off of the adhesive, then step back and see if it looks even before actually putting it on. If you purchase our spoiler, they do come with guides so you don't have to measure.
Just installed mine, looks great. I’m 71 love my new M3. Took me less than 5 minutes to install. Great product.

Also he removed both adhesive covers from the bottom. It would be easier to peel of the upper one from the top and lower one from the bottom
Wow that looks pretty easy and even I should be able to install it. Thanks
golden info!!!! i was going thru hell trying to install mines 😂 i knew i needed some technique
This worked thank you took a few hours but beats paying a few hundreds a for removal from a body shop etc

How can you change the visualization in a car and add a spoiler, if you have a long range vehicle?
Like in the app and touchscreen? I don't believe that's an option right now
Thanks for the vid! Would applying ceramic coating prevent the peeling, de-lamination?
It will help for sure.
I am planning on doing PPF on my model 3. Should I install this spoiler first before PPF?
Install it after!
@@tesbros Will this fit on the new 2024 model 3?
Great Video Man! I am wondering, what's the Spoiler Finish you have on the Spoiler you used for installation in the Video. Please advise.
This one is matte!

Thanks for the helpful video. Just put mine on today. Great products and fast shipping!
@tesbros Are those metal badge overlays? If so which ones? I got a m3p and the ones the previous owner put on look horrible and are peeling off
No, it's a vinyl wrap covering! It's part of our chrome delete kits: tesbros.com/products/chrome-delete
Spoiler or no spoiler?
No spoiler looks 👌
Didn’t see the the spoiler for the old model 3 (Non-Highland), will the new version still work for the old model 3?

Will the spoiler stay on in an automatic car wash?
Wait at least 24 hours after you remove the vinyl support, but shouldn't be a problem
Thank you man!!!
Where did you get the black emblems from?
we have the black emblem kit for Model Y: tesbros.com/products/emblem-kit but not Model 3 yet. Definitely check out Abstract Ocean
How long you had the spoiler installed before remove?
This was an OEM spoiler on a 2019 Model 3, so about 3 years

Remove it and do not put a new one.
that’s stupid
Agreed!
Right doesn’t look appealing
What is up with men and Carbon Fiber? It's so over rated and so 1990s. The whole point of updating your Tesla is not to look like a Ricer.
can the spoiler be used again after removal?
Yes! You'll have to clean the adhesive off and apply more
