Led Zeppelin formed in 1968 and went on to become one of the most influential, innovative, and successful groups in modern music, having sold more than 300 million albums worldwide. My late husband chose this song for our wedding in 2009. Tomorrow I undergo surgery without him here beside me, but as I was leaving home today to go to the hospital this was the first song that came on the car radio. I know he's still with me. ❤️

As good as this song is, it is a sad song, which always reminds me of my mother. She's still alive, but doesn't have much time. When she goes, this song will keep her alive as long as I listen to it. Call me crazy, or superstitious, but it's the way that it is for me.
In my humble opinion, this is one of the most beautiful songs ever written, in any genre. It's one of the very few songs that brings me to tears every time I hear it. It's a masterpiece.

It was our song in 1996
We recently lost our son Sam after a 10 year battle with crohns. Despite his continued pain and battle he always said thank you for the help he was given. Looking for a fitting tribute for his funeral I remembered this song. As a last thank you from Sam to all the bikers and attendants at his final ride this was played. Sam, thank you from us all for being such a wonderful,caring and loving person. You will always be missed. Dad

Thank you so much. Sam was so strong throughout from a young age. Sadly the crohns voice isn't heard too well. My aim in his memory is to continue to try and raise the profile of the disease and the need for emotional support. The 31st july 2021 will always be the saddest day of my life. However it will also be the proudest too as the last words he said was thank you. To all the crohns warriors , keep shouting.

My husband battled with Alzheimer’s for 10 years. My son and I were his caregivers. We were married for 45 years. He left us at age 66. His favorite rock band was Led Zeppelin. The morning after his service I got in my car and this is the first song that started playing. He was Thanking me. I started bawling. I miss him so so much 😢
He’s in heaven watching over us. He still sends me this song once in awhile. That’s when I know he’s with me 😇💖

Gday Joseph, I told her I would sing it to her at our wedding when we got engaged. When the wedding got closer, she thought I wouldn't go through with it, and if I did it would be during the reception. I got a guitarist from the band to play the tune on a Rythm Guitar at the start of the ceremony. We were both very nervous, but I sang it pretty well even though I had to hold the mic with 2 hands to stop my self shaking. Yes, she loved it. @@josephallen2777

A dear friend sang this at my wife's funeral 3 1/2 years ago. There was not a dry eye in the house. His brother who accompanied him on guitar said that was the best he had ever sounded, anywhere. Now, my dear old friend has succumbed to cancer. Not a dry eye today either. Thank You TJ. I love and miss you, Brother.

My husband had a funny side to him so we played Hells Bells and drank Johnny Walker Blue at his funeral. It is exactly what he would of wanted. He died suddenly , but had the death he would of wanted to. A great man, a great soul. Miss him everyday.

Weirdly I turned my dad onto Zeppelin when he was 57 and I was 14. He had remembered them growing up when they used play nearby in Birmingham and Stoke pretty regularly. A few of his friends would go see them but he was always more of Stones guy and assumed Zeppelin were heavier than they really are. He's a big fan now, so better late than never I guess.

My favorite part of this song is where the guitar strumming comes in and Robert sings "Little drops of rain". OH MY GOD!!!!! The combination of the guitar chords, his voice and the following lyrics are so magical. It's timeless. There is something about it that speaks of romance. Of new love. Each one of the four band members of Led Zeppelin were virtuosos in their own right (separately) and then when you put the four of them together...........KABOOOOOOOM!!!!!!

This is stunning and is as powerful in 2021 as it was over 50 years ago. A life ambition achieved when I saw Robert Plant perform live in 2014 and I was blown away when he played this. Couldn’t stop the tears as the gig ticket was a birthday present from my gorgeous wife who was also present ... this will be my funeral song. Love it.

Maybe the love of your life, after 27 years of ups and downs, just for no apparent reason, decided to stab you when you got home and were doing laundry. Maybe after being hauled to jail and spending 6 months, she’s gone for good living with family, and you haven’t seen or heard from her for over a year, and you’ve just wasted 27 years and all you got back was an empty bank acct, a broken heart, a stab wound on your arm, and memories of a love that just couldn’t work, due to alcohol, deadly prescribed drugs, and a woman who was never wrong once, in 27 years. Never admitted fault or apologized for all the terrible things she didn’t do to you. I’ve had the blues, the reds and the pinks…. One thing for sure …. Love Stinks. She never stabbed me either. I was probably so loaded I don’t remember stabbing myself !! Lmao. I don’t even drink, but she was hammered at 9:00 am, when the cops showed up, and I was bleeding. So if the sun refused to shine, would she still be stabbing me ? When the blood has run down past my knees, will there still be her and me? I don’t think so. Thank You. Great song. My father died on June 5th, 2023, 17 days ago.
Back in the early ’80s he loved Led Zeppelin and this was one of the songs he liked. He also liked some of the songs of a Brazilian singer named Astrud Gilberto. By coincidence she died on the same day he did, she at 83 years of age and he at 89.

The whole time I was listening, I kept analysing, assuming that your singing/song writing/composing of songs, is truly, must be a gift from God, because it comes naturally for you, it's like you feel the music, the words spill out from your mind, and heart.
