You're going to wait a very , very long time then. There are over 10k cards, imagine animating all of them; including making special animations for their attacks. Add to that spells, traps, fields. Yeah, nope, we're going to get a story mode and a bare bones multiplayer.

I think the game is doing too much. I just want the gameplay to be good with options to make the game feel good to play. Though Konami never showed they understood how to do this with their previous games. I feel like they are going to focus more on the look of the game than the gameplay.

Knowing the pokemon company; I don't think they'll ever do that because the amount of VR users aren't high enough. But let's say this yugioh game somehow becomes a huge success that millions of players play it on VR daily; than it might gain their attention and consider it.
actually the beta is here but like you mentioned not available to the public. These are not just teaser trailers though they are fully functional experiences but just very short.
Is it really a good idea? Using VR too long can cause motion sickness and strains your eyes so might not be a good idea to have a format where people would do like ten minute combos of their turn while these negative side effects are affecting your body. And battery life can be an issue for some people. Imagine making your opponent headset run out of battery because of how long your turn took? Because of these reasoning I don't think the devs would even consider it. Long turns for VR is a huge gimmick to their success.
It makes sense because of the long turns of master duel with VR may not work well. It also gets more older fans hype if it's in goat format like early links.
