  • Working out some issues on this first gen dodge cummins truck. pedal comes up too high due to a failed booster actuator rod, causing the brake light switch bracket to bend forcing the lights on all the time.

What is that part number you found for the Brake Pedal Sensor??? I’ve been looking for the Standar Part Number and have been having much difficulty finding one.

this is literally a big big big safety issue and mopar should be held liable no matter if the trucks one year old or 100 years old ! the cheesy stamped steel brackets bent less than a year into owning a brand new truck and they continue to be a major issue ! safety issue !! they should have never in a zillion years been allowed by anybody to sell these to the public !!

i did all of what you are doing here and more the bracket is cheap stamped annealed metal and continues to bend right back to not working

The Ant-Lock and Brake light on the dash are staying on and can't figure out why. m The only serviceable ABS is the differential speed sensor which was changed but no go.

you will need to get the service manual, and follow the diagnostic procedure.

junk mopar electronics they should have fired every electrical engineer on the payroll and hired all new people cause they built unsafe unacceptable junk

@@stevenbean9706 yeah considering the vehicle is 34 years old there's always going to be things that fatigue and wear out. Although over the years Chrysler has got rid of all the old engineers and got new ones and their factors worse than they were lol

@@MegaMarclar well they didnt paint the bracket so if you failed to paint it best of wishes its going to wear to metal and ground through the bracket! bam light wont go out and your gonna think its fried internally i plastidipped after i powder coated it and tigged in some tiny reinforcement gullets ! the replacement engineers are nothing but the kids of the old engineers and they suck even worse they cant even give enough wiring harness in the new cars and they are uplugging a mile down the road ! my family owns a chevy dealership and a chrysler dodge jeep dealership its the same exact shoddy crappy engineering only a step up ! they think they can get big bonuses by shaving pennies off vital components they need new engineers real engineers cause these guys are outright dangerous so they make the colossal mistake of hiring the kids of current engineers secret handshake society its what destroyed general electric just cause mommy and daddy said you cant think for yourself they send you to college to be an engineer! and their thinking is identical to their parents thats why mr norms kids from chicago did what these prune heads couldn't do with a dart and stuffed a big block in ! unfortunately its guys like myself that end up fixing everything they completely screwed up !

I have no brake lights when I hit the pedal. Checked the switch it goes up and down as normal, fuses are replaced but still not active brake lights when stopping

The brakelight switch may be bad internally. If it's not making contact, it will not function at all. If you have replaced the brakelight switch and it still isn't working, you likely have a wiring issue.

your switch is fried internally they built and still build junk electronics

this is a serious safety hazzard and mopar stellantis should be required by law to give or replace all if these soft soft crappy brackets ! ive yet to see one that doesn't bend after being used twice no matter what you use to hold the switch in place the bracket is so soft it bends and you end up with zero brake lights

I'm sure there there is some limitation on how long their liability lasts.

ive got a 40 year old chevy that just got a brand new fuel pump cause chevy was found to be using junk parts ! there is no limit on safety and they shouldnt have been permitted to sell these in any vehicle at any point in time a lawsuit is definitely in order

how was the height of the pedal after this? I find my pedal in rest position awfully high, as yours in the start of the video.. I have to lift my foot from the accelrator to get to the brake, not good if i need to brake fast

That's actually how it's supposed to be. They are up pretty high.

I have the same problem with my 1988 d100 and I hate that I have to lift my leg to brake. I had an 84 D150 in high school and I don't remember it being that bad
