okay, thanks for the video, but still having an issue. My fuses look fine. I have rear turn signals, flashers and running lights. but I can't get the brake light to come on. I replaced the brake light switch (actuated by the pedal) $30.00 but still no brake lights. I hooked up a brake light bar under my tail gate off my trailer hitch wire, and that works for a brake light. but I can't figure out why my brake lights aren't going on. frustrated.... checked bulbs, fuses, and loose wires. nothing outta place. Any clues to my dilemma?
Michael Rao have you guys messed with the brake switch? I got mine to work somehow but I was testing everything, brake switch,relay, fuse and the bulbs so I have no clue how it actually got fix but the only one I never messed with before was the brake switch.
Same with me. Running lights, reverse lights, turn signals, 3rd brake light all work, but the brake lights on both sides don't work. I changed all the bulbs, replaced the back tail light panels, and checked for fuses. I forgot all about the under the steering wheel brake switch. Maybe this is the problem.
Very helpful. In my case brake lights would not go off, even with the engine not running. Replacing the switch fixed the problem. The only thing I would add is that I had to start the truck and depress the brake pedal to make enough space to slide in the the new switch.

These trucks can have an issue with the socket itself not making good contact with the board. You will want to double check that the correct bulbs are installed in the rear and inspect the various contacts of the sockets
Replaced brake light switch, checked fuses, instrument cluster is good... its only the brake lights not working. Turn signals, marker lights, back up lights all work. Wiring is good. Only way to get the brake lights to work is to smack the lens.
The brake wiring of left and right tail route through turn signal. The 3rd center light does not route through turn signal. Sounds like your situation.
Idk if you fixed it or not yet but you can get new tail light circuit boards for cheap off Amazon. That's what mine needed when my tail lights were working intermittently. Takes about 4 minutes total to do for both sides.
I have a question for you. I have a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 there are three brake lights. Right and left tail light and one center brake light on the top of the cab. My right and left brake light are out and do not light up when the brake is depressed. But the light over the cab comes on when the brake is depressed. I assume that my brake light switch works because the center cap light comes on. What do you think is causing the right and left brake light not to come on? Check the fuses in the fuse box they are fine.
Thanks. Same issue, no rear brake lights, 2nd new switch, good clean battery terminals. Must be the dash cluster. Old (new) switch would flicker brake light for half a second. Only able to see this in a pitch black garage. Pushed pedal 10x to get 1 flicker. Thanks Dodge/Fiat for the headache. 💣💥

Returned to switch for another one put it in and nothing worked. I drove the truck for 6 months with no brake lights trying to figure out where the problem was. I removed the entire fuse block assembly and cleaned all the terminals etc. Thank you so very much for this video as my switches never came with instructions So I had no idea what to do with a little black switch. After watching your video I flipped The little switch and walla I have brake lights Thank you for your informative videos I am now a subscriber.

Only my third brake light works, no left and right brakes, but the turn signal, tail lights and reverse lights work fine please help!!!

Do you know what the red and black plug hanging down on the right side of the opening, is used for. I have the same one hanging. On my 2003 dodge

i have an 06' Ram 2500 and all lights work except the right brake light on the 4 pin and the 7 pin trailer plugs.
