Niles was the best character on the show, but the beauty of the entire show was the intelligent writing. It was the best written show ever. Never dumbed down, always smart, classy and funny. Seen every episode more times than I’d like to admit.
Niles telling Fraiser: One of my patients had a rather amusing Freudian Slip. Uh, he was having dinner with his wife and he meant to say, "Pass the salt," but instead he said, "You've ruined my life you blood-sucking shrew."
My favorite moment was when Roz walked into the men's room and demanded that Bulldog come out of the stall and start doing his show. Niles, not knowing the complete situation, walked in, and says "Oh Roz, are we playing hard to get?"
I love when Roz gave Daphne a garter as a little wedding gift to fulfill the "something borrowed" requirement. Daphne: "Ohhh how beautiful, look at all the intricate detail." Niles: "Yes, I particularly love the little odometer."
Frasier and Niles were one of the best comedic duos I’ve ever watched. They both flattered each other’s strengths so well, as well as the rest of the cast being hilarious in their own right. This show is a gem.
Nobody can ever best the scene where Niles irons his pants. How many other shows have had over six minutes of a near-wordless one-character + dog scene that's absolutely hilarious?

Niles, on the other hand, was by far the best character. His facial expressions were marvellous.....he didn’t have to say a word....you knew what he was thinking. Great show.
i say this because I feel compelled to point out the mastery of Kelsey Grammar, but not because I think you were disparaging Kelsey Grammar or the character Fraser at all. Kelsey Grammar mastered the ability to be an extremely effective physical and situational comic wile also effortlessly being an excellent straightman. To be able to carry a show for 11 years (and several years as a supporting character) both grounding the comedy of the show and being a comedian of the show is a monumental talent. That being said I agree with you, Martha, I think Niels was my favorite character.
Two of my favorite Niles episodes were #1, "Three Valentine's", Niles was preparing dinner at Fraziers and he noticed that the crease in his pants wasn't correctly pressed. He proceeded to iron out the crease and everything went downhill from there. My 2nd favorite was when Frazier pretended to be Jewish for his new Jewish girlfriends Mother. Again; Niles nailed it. His timing was always spot on. Niles could have easily had his own show. It amazed me watching someone so comical, yet never speaking one word!

David Hyde Pierce was the crown jewel of brilliant casting for this show! I will forever love how he made Niles Crane every bit the match for Frasier!!
My favorite episode is where Martin in an attempt to attract a woman, digs himself into a hole by saying his gay, and Niles ends up being roped in as his lover 😂😂
Frasier is one of the best spinoffs of all time. Great characterization, snappy dialogue, stellar world building and the best writing even in its worst episodes
Actually I like it better than ‘Cheers’. Working a lot of hours didn’t allow much time for me to be watching TV series, so I discovered this brilliant gem after I retired. Wow‼️ A superb series and one that I like to watch over and over.
David Hyde pierce is fantastic. His acting but he’s also so good at the physical comedy. He was also a hundred times more handsome. He’s just the better brother.
I ADORE Frasier, we watch one episode every night and then start all over again when we get through the whole series. David Hyde Pierce has always been a genius at physical comedy, pure genius. He's my favorite character. And even though our kids laugh at us for watching so much, I'm not embarrassed at all. It was/is sharp, funny, timely with the best writing of ANY sitcom.
Like thousands I have watched Frasier for years. But as we change and mature, I have seen these episodes in a new light: Each episode is written and performed like a live Play on stage. Niles is an incredible physical actor, from his panic attacks not being able to breathe, to his allergies like Parchment Mites. Frasier uses his body very well too but his are usually to enhance his drama. Niles gets the funny lines all to do with 12 step programmes, from Multiple personalities to sex addictions. It is one of a kind this great show. Thank you for sharing it🌷🌷
Frasier is one of the best spin off comedies. Even towards the end of the show it never got stupid, and the last show did it justice. I watch the reruns every night...
The writing was so good, and the lucky writers knew their lines would be delivered brilliantly by these gifted actors. David Hyde-Pierce especially. His fast-paced crisp diction was perfect. What fun to write for these talented people.
That's what made the show so great in my opinion. The writing was great, that's the most important thing but the fact they spread the laughs around so every single member of the cast, even extras got some punch lines. Niles had a bunch of amazing physical routines that were amazing (possibly the best one was partly shows at the end of this video) and Frasier had the voice and facial expressions. Easily one of the best sitcoms ever!
I can't believe you didn't include the part where Niles did all those characters in Frasier's radio mystery bit ( I was doing my manicure watching that, and actually injured myself because I laughed so hard), and the episode when they went to the ski lodge and both the ski instructor and "Big Rhonda" ( her name in that 70's show, I can't remember her name from Frasier) both wanted to spend the night with him was hysterical.
One of the things I always loved about Frasier was how every character got their chance to own the room. That episode where Niles is getting ready to go out and notices a flaw in the crease of his pants was a complete tour-de-force for David, and to do it all and make it gut-bustingly hilarious without uttering a word. Just spectacular.
I was fortunate to find the box set. I watched it everyday all day when I was going through a really bad patch. My favourite is when Roz made the brownies with weed in them.
I thought the one of the funniest Niles moments was the time he was reaching into the garbage disposal to see what was caught in there, and while he had his hand inside Frasier turned on the coffee grinder causing him to leap back. Funny!
my fave episode is when they had the dinner party at the beach house and they had to get rid of the dead seal. that was hysterical. and the ice fishing one too
I also think that David "Niles" was the best character on the show! I am also a Frasier-ite, and watch all of the reruns. That said, I heard it is coming back, and I am thrilled!
Oh that was 1 of my favorites. Niles was preparing for what I recalled a Valentine's dinner. Upon noticing his pants needed pressing, he then ironed his pants but then found a string hanging. He proceeded to cut the string when he accidentally cut his finger. Blood all over the place. Hysterical. A one man show.

My husband and I usually watched the show together but he wasn't with me the first time I saw this scene. I tried to explain all of what happened when I saw my husband later but I kept laughing so hard that I could hardly talk. A wonderful scene--the writing and the acting were both brilliant!
Originally on Cheers Frasier didn't mention having a brother. When Sam appeared on Frasier, Sam stated that maybe Frasier did mention Niles, but he just tuned him out.
Nevermind Frasier, watch DHP in The Perfect Host. He’s a revelation in that movie. I never appreciated him in Frasier but I am all aboard the DHP train after watching him in that!
Still my two most favorite Frasier episodes are with David. The one with Daphne going out with his doppelgänger Rodney and THE funniest scene I have ever seen where he goes to iron his pants and set the couch on fire, brilliantly performed....
Well, you included one of my top favorites--the Valentine dinner with his pants on fire. But where was the garbage disposal scene--his timing was absolute perfection. And my favorite of all episodes--the broadcast of the 1930s murder mystery radio show--where Niles ended up playing 6 different roles--all with different accents!
My favorite was when Roz brought over the pot brownie, and Niles ate a tiny crumb and was acting like he was high, meanwhile Martin is high as a kite thinking Eddie is talking..LOL...
I'm not a fan of Kelsey Grammer but I love everyone else on this show. Niles is my fav! If they do the series again I hope Roz & Dafnie come back & I wil really miss Martin! He was great!l
Frasier is one of the few GREAT "sit-coms" ever created. We need to laugh these days. Purchase videos of Frasier, All in the Family, and Barney Miller disks, then sit back and enjoy yourself. I do.
Finally someone mentions the best of all times sitcom: All in the Family. I still laugh hard and cry at the same time watching it. And admire those characters and how well the actors got to them. Edith is a jewel. Very well written and even better played. So its Archie. And what to say about the Jeffersons? I'm glad they got their on sitcom in the end! Great shows. Timeless.
For me, I couldn't enjoy All in th Family the way everyone else did:: too much yelling. But, I absolutely love Frasier, Bewitched, King of Queens, and a few others that I happily rewatch over and over thanks to the DVD sets.
This episode, along with Tim Conway’s dentist on Carol Burnett, never fails to make me laugh till I cry. I bought this whole season just for this episode. 🥰🥰🥰
His best lines were usually describing his group therapy sessions, as included, but also how he described Maris. I remember once when he and Maris were supposed to go with Frasier to some event, but Niles arrived without her. He said something like, “Maris was getting dressed and caught a glimpse of herself in a mirror. She slumped on the divan and I knew the evening was not to be.” Or at a party when Frasier asked where she was, niles responded that she was sleeping under the guests’ coats in the bedroom. Then someone approaches and asks where to put their coats. Without missing a beat, he says, “Oh, just throw them on the bed…”. Poor Maris.
Niles was the best character on the show, but the beauty of the entire show was the intelligent writing. It was the best written show ever. Never dumbed down, always smart, classy and funny. Seen every episode more times than I’d like to admit.

Niles could have had his own show and that would have been awesome.
No, not sure - Fraser was fantastic, erudite, pathetic, handsome, boyish and lovable.
I laughed every time Niles dusted a chair with his handkerchief then put it back in his pocket 😊
Only 30?… My goodness Niles / David stole the show every episode he appeared in.
A fabulous comedic actor.
👵🇦🇺🇺🇸
Niles is my favourite 😊🤗
Nevermind Frasier, watch DHP in The Perfect Host. He’s a revelation in that movie. I never appreciated him in Frasier but I am all aboard the DHP train after watching him in that!
that whole show was perfectly cast. Even before there was a Frasier show, I saw Hyde-Pierce and thought he should play Frasier's brother
I really miss that show. I loved all the characters especially the Martin, Niles and Roz. Actually, I miss them all.
Still my two most favorite Frasier episodes are with David. The one with Daphne going out with his doppelgänger Rodney and THE funniest scene I have ever seen where he goes to iron his pants and set the couch on fire, brilliantly performed....
the whole "pants on fire" pantomime skit is the funniest of all his routines
Niles was always funnier than Fraser, Lolol
I wouldn't say Frazier is one of the best spin-offs of all time. I would say it was the best spin-off of all time!
It's a shame you couldn't put the entire scene for #1

Niles was the real reason why I watched the show I always thought he was super hilarious.
Whoever wrote that show was a genius. They've proved that not only by the longevity of the series but by all the reruns on tv over & over again!
Ive always had the biggest crush on Niles and his Trafalgar suspenders. He is so funny. DHP did a wonderful job.
They were both hilarious and perfect timing always!
You missed the time where Roz tells Niles she, and Martin got married, and he fires back with "I'll be a son of a b%#*& !
I missed that one too!
My favorite Niles line "Oh Frasier don't be absurd. I didn't marry her for her money.....I married her for her father's money."
1.30am. and laughing scandalously lol. Niles is a trip! love him...
I'm not a fan of Kelsey Grammer but I love everyone else on this show. Niles is my fav! If they do the series again I hope Roz & Dafnie come back & I wil really miss Martin! He was great!l
Niles was HILARIOUS!
Ohhh my so many Good memories 😆
“I think the banana went off” 😂
The urinating outdoors line was hilarious, Niles is amazing! 😂
Old school comedies are the best cause they were funny. There will never be shows like that again.
#1 he didn’t have to say a word........but still hilarious 😆
Fun fact: Number 30 was shot MULTIPLE times because the actors couldn't stop laughing
I can see why
Thank you 😅❤👍..my 2 favourites are Niles trying to get static electricity into Frasier, and the ironing inferno 😁
Number 1 is the Valentine's show where he tried to iron his pants. Funniest thing ever.
This episode, along with Tim Conway’s dentist on Carol Burnett, never fails to make me laugh till I cry. I bought this whole season just for this episode. 🥰🥰🥰
4:10 I swear you can hear John Mahoney laughing off screen
Niles was my favorite character on the show.
Niles is hilarious!!!!!! He made the show!!!!!!
Niles: "He also mentioned your dimwitted call screener."
Roz: "That's ME!"
Niles: "Oh! NOW I remember you!"
There were some brilliant one liners on Fraiser, I loved them all. One of the best Sit Coms ever.
Poor Maris.
don't forget many of his best lines when dealing with Roz, especially in the earlier days of them knowing one another (or not!)
Thirty times? Frasier was essentially, The Niles Show.
Hahahahahahahahahahaha
EXCELLENT EXCELLENT !!!
A very funny show. Loved it.
"I'm fine. I'm just a little hot . . . and foamy."
My hot and foamy must’ve exploded
@@Handlethis81637 "He was a detective, you know."
I can't choose most favourite character in Frasier. All of three Cranes are equal for me.
