Part of what bothers me whenever the US job is talked about is almost the prerequisite that the Candidate must have a good knowledge of MLS.... Why? What importance does that have over a team that really should have little relation to Major League Soccer.... unless there have always been strings attached to the job like people have always theorized. It's good to know about good up and coming Americans in MLS I'm not discounting that, but it really is very small minded that the media and others mention that for the job candidacy, it really bothers me, for other national teams around the world this isn't an issue. Why is it an issue here?

Not ready for this job. Unrealistic expectations vs quality have t in this pay for play fiasco of a system. Where only the affluent play while other country’s players come up through an academy system where you are cut where you don’t meet standard no amount of daddy’s dollars going to change that! Kids work thier way out of poverty through football. Somethingbin dtates simply don’t grasp. Get rid of pay for play build from ground up as klinsman recommended remembered his ideas were thought radical to soccer federation. But were needed to actually complete for World Cup not merely qualify. You’re not close to Uruguay they won 15 conembols copas 2 WC officially. four unofficially they won WC twice when American team’s weren’t eligible to compete when it was strictly a European event. They have a decorated history in football America has no history in football in comparison. Remember uraguay is fourth best team in conembol and they would stream roll the cancacaff group if they were in that grouping . Did the us team beatvonecupoerctiercconembol team no. Ecuador is a better team andcthey had a poor copa manager was fired before he got back to his home country. How longvdidcitvtake USA to fire thier manager thats tells you that whole federation needs to be fired!!! Incapable of making a decisive decision.

"Is this a good enough resume to coach the US team?" is the stupidest, America-centric question I've seen asked by a pundit. Yes, HIS resume is good enough, because the US team is a second-rate team. We are not in the same league as Argentina, Brazil, Spain, England, etc. We're not even in the same league as Colombia (the way they've been playing) or Portugal.
And however thin his resume is, he knows more football than the clown we had before.

@@Kyle-ls7gp Instead of reaching for the stars how about we reach for a coach who can get our team farther than Canada in a tournament? Our population is 8.5 times that of Canada. Do we really not have enough of a pool to find fifteen guys who can get farther than Canada? Who can beat Trinidad and Tobago? Who can go toe to toe with Brazil, Argentina, and Colombia (when they're good) and, even if they lose, they make the other team suffer for the win.
We need a Mourinho, Conte, or Ancelotti type who will come in and figure out the strengths of our players and devise a system to bring out those strengths. Forget everything else.
There is no "American style" in the way the Spanish have had a distinctive style. So we need a guy who can create a temporary style and system that is good enough to win games.
As for Henry's thin resume, I'm not a partisan of any prospect. How impressive was De La Fuente's resume before he took over Spain? Who care's about the resume? Just get the guy who will ruthlessly create a team, a TEAM, where everyone knows their role and what they must do. And if they don't do it, they get cut.
Scaloni did that with Argentina. He figured out a way to get the team to play with their strengths. He doesn't have peak Messi and DiMaria. He has old Messi and DiMaria. And they still made France miserable.
Guardiola does that. Ancelotti, Klopp, Mourinho, Conte, all do that.
De La Fuente, a "nobody" with no top league resume did that; Southgate did not, and look what happened.

Both are terrible. We need to throw out the hiring people. Why only mls ex coaches. Both of them completely failed as coaches everywhere they went. This is a disgrace. For people that don't know look it up do your research
