Part of what bothers me whenever the US job is talked about is almost the prerequisite that the Candidate must have a good knowledge of MLS.... Why? What importance does that have over a team that really should have little relation to Major League Soccer.... unless there have always been strings attached to the job like people have always theorized. It's good to know about good up and coming Americans in MLS I'm not discounting that, but it really is very small minded that the media and others mention that for the job candidacy, it really bothers me, for other national teams around the world this isn't an issue. Why is it an issue here?

"Is this a good enough resume to coach the US team?" is the stupidest, America-centric question I've seen asked by a pundit. Yes, HIS resume is good enough, because the US team is a second-rate team. We are not in the same league as Argentina, Brazil, Spain, England, etc. We're not even in the same league as Colombia (the way they've been playing) or Portugal. And however thin his resume is, he knows more football than the clown we had before.
