    I hate saying it, but Herc was spot on throughout the clip. Sure, Vasco is better than Jimmy. But I was there, Gandalf. I was there (checks calendar) 22 years ago. Vasco took Ramoncito out and put in a finished Matador. I was there the day the strength of that man failed. We should've reached the quinto partido that day, but the curse was allowed to endure. Vasco kept us out of the quarterfinals, his mojo is now broken. There is no strength left in Vasco.

    Mexico shouldn't have gone to the Copa América, as they fixed the match against Honduras at the Azteca when they were already eliminated. They used the referee to win. Maybe that's why they hired Javier Aguirre-he's used to those things in Spain.

  • @coldshot1611
    @coldshot1611 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

    Fans will have to settle for the 5-4-1 counter-attacking ball. I think Rafa will play the Barcelona way when he has full control of the team.

    • @amoggitarklooru-me7si
      @amoggitarklooru-me7si 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      If Rafa plays like he did at Barcelona, Mexico would lose like they did against Chile in the Copa América when they lost 7-0, because Mexico doesn't have the players to play that kind of football. To begin with, they would lose the ball in the exits and wouldn't be able to pass to the full-backs, because they don't have decent full-backs. Moreover, no Mexican player plays in an elite team in Europe, they don't know the Champions League or UEFA. They play fighting relegation, and the worst part is that they always get relegated, they don't fight and survive, they fight and end up defeated. Case in point: Johan Vásquez, César Montes, Ochoa, etc. All of them play in teams that don't escape relegation. I don't think it's because they play well.

    I like the hire, El Vasco plays defensively sound which is what the team needs. The problem with Mexico is they’ve been trying to go toe to toe with good teams. Since Osorio implemented the 4-3-3 in 2018 Mexico has been getting blown out of the field by good teams, at least El Vasco brings order and stability at defense

    Even if we analyze statistically, Jimmy Lozano had more achievements as a coach than Javier Aguirre and Rafael Márquez combined, as Lozano won a Gold Cup in addition to the Olympic medal, while Aguirre, as the coach of Mexico, only has one Gold Cup, and Márquez has nothing yet. They should have kept Lozano. The problem isn't him; the problem is the players and the federation's officials.

    A while ago, Aguirre said that Mexico was "a country of losers." I think someone who thinks like that shouldn't be anywhere near a Mexican national team. Mexico has no direction; the federation is merely covering up its internal disasters with names known to the public, but both options are really questionable. To begin with, Javier Aguirre has already managed two World Cups and did nothing. We could even say that he gave away the 2010 match against Argentina by starting Bofo Bautista, who hadn't been playing. And Rafael Márquez has zero experience as an assistant coach in Mexico.

  • @MaximoToro
    @MaximoToro 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Aguirre is NOT the right choice. He didn't do anything in the past 2 WCs. He calls up mostly his friends and has a thing against any player under 30. Hell, he'll probably unretire conejo and start him as the keeper. But say goodbye to any young talent, he's just never going to play them. Horrible step backwards for Mexico

  • @AwkwardAuction
    @AwkwardAuction 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Rafa Márquez is doing it because he loves his country. Is he ready for the head coach job? No. I would’ve preferred to see El Kaiser take the top job after having coached La Liga team on the top flight. If I were Márquez, I’d work with Aguirre until the end of the WC and then go back to La Liga.
