- Here's an easy way to get the beauty of stained glass but with items you can pick up at the craft store. We are using glass gems you can find in the floral department or even the Dollar Tree. A trip to the thrift store netted a cut glass plate as the focal point and a frame with glass as the base of this beautiful piece.

That's so pretty. Thank you, Lisa.
Wow! What a brilliant idea -- I love it!
Beautiful! I will make one. Thanks for the inspiration!
Crystal plate? Cut glass? I think what you're using is a clear pressed glass plate. The older ones in pinks, greens, golds and blues are called 'Depression Glass'. I love collecting Depression Glass.
I would definitely put the hangers into the frame first. So there is no risk of breaking anything. Just a thought.
I would also add flat L-brackets on the corners of the frame, to prevent the frame corners from separating.
This is exquisite with using such common craft items. Can't wait to make one and see it in the sunshine. Thanks for sharing.
I have a 4 1/2 feet tall by 9 1/2 foot length window ( original 1954 windows). I love the light that comes through but, not the lack of privacy. Curtains and blinds take away from the aesthetic of the room. Thank you for this idea. I’m going to make various sizes and hang them at different lengths in that window!! I have made table tops using glass tops and these pebbles. I never thought to do it in a frame. lol
Again- Thank you for sharing your creativity
Many blessings to you and yours.
❤️
I would try epoxy instead of glue...take less time..Love it
I’m going to try this with a couple of those round cut rainbow crystals… Thinking in a 3 flower design🥰🌈💎🤩it will shine rainbows out into the entire living room! 🌈🪟

I love these, but I am having problems finding those plates. I live in Italy and I don’t see them in thrift stores here. These remind me of lace or doilies.
Hi from the state of West Virginia USA. Do you have any stores Like Dollar Tree or Dasio. You can buy them there if in stock. They have party acrylic plates there that have the design of a crystal, plate. I was thinking they might work also. I have used them instead of glass in Diy. I hope this helps!! 💜🌼🌸🌻🌺🥀🐞Huggzz!!
Those are very pretty.
Thank you! 😊 these are childrens sizes
I would love to see the back also. Thank you for sharing.
I wonder if setting all this in a thin layer of resin would work.
Enjoyed watching making window art Hanger's with plates & glass beads! Thanks✌Tina , Georgia
One hanger. Two hangers.
Well, I went and bought needed supplies. Place I was at didn’t have JB Weld. I got Gorilla epoxy. Wasn’t till I read directions that I found out it turns yellow in sun 😮. I guess resin doesn’t?! Haven’t been able to research it yet. Frustrated after getting excited to make this & glass flowers! Feel like I’m all dressed up & no place to go!
Have you tried using epoxy on any of your projects ?
I love this!
Ikr! Me too!!! I have hit up all the good thrift stores in my area and now I have plenty of pressed glass pieces now. I cannot wait to make my first piece! ❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Me and my mom make these too, do you worry about the back being presentable? We feel like ours is such a mess with the glue
If you hang it,will the flat side be showing or hang it where the raised side show?
the raised side shows front. the backside you see the glue although it is clear.
I would have put some of the gems around the interior circle on the back of the plate
Do you hang it looking at the flat glass or the placement side
Does E 6000 work as well as locktite?
Are you using picture frames? And if so do you glue the front glass into place before starting.
Yes, I use picture frames and I glue the glass in securely. All of the weight depends on this.
I'm pretty sure she used a frame from a piece of art or a picture frame. I remember her saying she glued the glass down before starting on hers.
Would yhink Hot Glue as it heats in sun in a window may soften, as u say. Do bedt stivk yo tried & tested by the professional! 😁
Did you find a purple ones
That don’t fade in color
I want to find some but it’s hard I want to find a lot of purple ones normal size not fake ones because the fake ones are painted I want real ones like Stain-glass also I want to purple to be transparent But I can still see the purple color
You could get clear beads and sea glass spray paint (from hobby lobby) and paint the color you want
When you hang it, do you have the flat side at front showing or the raised side at front showing please? So do you glue down on front or back of frame please?
I glue on the front of the frame glass and hang it in the window as you would on a wall.
How long does it take you to do that
Couldn't you pour resin on top of it, when finished?
You could if you want to.
I would be better to pour a flood coat on the glass then place the glass plate and beads.
Pouring epoxy over the back of the plate will fill in the cut pattern.
some of my projects the glass window craked..what causes that? i use e6000 and try not to cram the pieces too close together
It is the glue.
what size chard do you use? thank you for sharing.
Does the glue yellow in time or?
I have researched a pretty good bit and I know that E 6000 won't turn.
Could you use a pretty plastic plate?
Great idea too
What does the backside look like?
WhHat kind of glue did you use?
I used a Loctite silicone glue but E6000 is also a good choice as long as it dries clear.
Where did you get your glue and what you had in your jar.
Barbara you can find the glue at Lowes, Home Depot, and probably Walmart. I can't remember what glue she said she used right off the bat BUT you can use E 6000 glue and I bought my E 6000 at Walmart. Hope that helps.
Where do you buy the framed glass pieces to do this?
I bought the frame at Good Will and glued the glass in before starting.
Thank Heavens for thrift stores!!! I'm excited to make my first piece! I have been buying up a lot of beautiful glass pieces from our local thrift stores. You can't beat the thrift store prices on glass and the frames. ❤❤❤
Is this a copyrighted craft?
I just don't want to copy any ones work
Do u sell tshirts with the WhichCraft logo?
no but we probably should!
Can you use a glue gun instead of the tube of glue you are using?
I'd say not. The glue will get brittle due to temp extremes. There are lots of better adhesives.
We didnt need to sit through the gluing of every one of the gems.
