You got to admire the huge gang murals and the time that went those murals . And how bold and out in the open they did them , makes you wonder are those murals still around or do the gangs now still do them like this
You definitely won't see gang graffiti like this anymore. These new millennial so called gangbangers are softer than a mf and are now PURPOSELY targeting women and kids,a death violation amongst mob members back in the day. It's internet gangbanging nowadays and what's crazy is that back in my era ( 70's and 80's) some of those guys were very artistic with they Nation tag's. Somebody pleeease hurry up and invent that time machine and take me back to 1980 and leave me there. Old head from off the low ends ( 51st and Langley) known as The Valley to folks from my generation, straight up DISCIPLES
Depends on the neighborhood and the gang. Most of the time something real detailed is go. A be in someone’s yard or garage if they really like that. If not it’s right outside somewhere everyone can see it.
Man back in the late 90s and early 90s the Darkkside Two Six had this big massive emblem over by 24th and Karpov, on the north side of the tracks. It was about 3 stories high and impossible for the opposition to tag it as it always had security on it. That shit was dope for its time.
Those were the days, when punk rock and hip hop were just starting out in the underground and kids made some of the best music and street art ever conceived ya dig.
In 70s/80s, C-Notes had some best murals on streets..Mostly done by few specific members. One of them got offered art scholarship( which was rare in 70s for doing graffiti/murals), but unfortunately he got locked up shortly before college started
Now u dont see them w there she laces w colors or pant legs or wear colors in chicago I mean some do like the kings but the rest not really any more they still have there hat to the side sometimes
@@joedicks5728 you ain’t lying colors were a big thing growing up ! When I was 7-8 years old I got checked by the gangbangers for wearing converse that big ass 5 point star in folks hood 😂😂😂 Im glad I never turned out 🙏🏽
Before there was dissing other gangs and dead opps on the internet how they do today, the only difference was back then they dissed mfks on a brick wall, or a garage door…it just amazes me how things change over the years💯
The way that gang banger climbed that utility pole he could've applied for a lineman gig at Com-ed. Good paying opportunity. All that wasted talent on those streets.
I’m born 76 and remember all this culture. Back then you saw and lived gangs - today it’s all internet - these wanna b Gz scared to hang out and bang , Amor
C'mon bro frfr? 🤣 That was just the style back then. I know i did it for them fine ass females on my block. But looking back at it i see exactly what you talking about tho 🤣
Chicago changed the laws, before they couldn’t arrest you for just hanging out, they had to prove you did something. Now they can arrest you for just hanging out, that’s why it all changed.
That's also why you see folks not wanting to be a "cpd/gangster" no more. Because they can't abuse power due to cameras. Most of the people that turn cops, want to follow, their parents legacy. & back in the day, to be one, was a privilege. You had to know someone to get in.
But also to answer you're question. They made tagging a felony in 2005. & also the cops hate on Chicago gangbangers, so much, that when they stop them, in the street. They lock them up, for no reason or frame them with weed in some rare situations gun. But for sure there gonna lie & charge you with disorderly conduct or wreckless conduct. They'll even drop you off in a rival turf. Just for walking on the sidewalk.
I like it but we're is the Black Stonoe graffiti we're is the BDs graffiti the GPS graffiti all I seen was all Latino gangs graffiti so if we doing chicago I'm from the Eastside of the city so when u talk about it u have to so it all I mean all the gangs
Latin kings eat first no matter what at the end of the day ...king love some of those smaller folk gangs are history don't exist...one street wonders blocks
@@edwinmendezforlife GBO, YBO, UPK… all got pushed out by LKs, when Kings decided to expand into “allíes” hoods. WLs folded because their Pres called it but ironically he has been trying to reestablish them again and there is a small set on 33rd. GLs have a few big sets far outside Chicago still.

Go to Pilsen you’ll def still see some big ones on buildings. Most times you’ll still see them in Mexican gang hoods in the alleys.
