@@punkjay4681 It's just Mirror Mirror is another one of those songs where the audience interaction is very high. The live videos are fun to watch imho.
The Curse of Fëanor does an amazing job for me when I need some energy, but my favorite song from this album is "Time stands still (at the iron hill)", this one talks about the fight between Fingolfin and Morgoth.
Probably a bit late to be replying, but Fingolfin's fight is one of the most epic moments in the Silmarillion, and Blind Guardian is the only significant band that would make a song about it. It's fantastic and one cannot help but feel respect for the High King of the Noldor.
As a rabid Tolkien nut, Nightfall in Middle-Earth is one of my absolute favourite albums ever. Such an amazing story and such amazing music to go with it. Damn.
Well, I dunno if anyone proposed that, but you DEFINATELY need to check Demons & Wizards - Fiddler on the Green, live version. Hansi's vocals there are insane.
I discovered Blind Guardian through this album, thanks to being absolutely obsessed with the Silmarillion when I was fifteen. It is superb! And this is probably my favourite song off it, although Time stands still is a close second.
Ok....you had me at Lord of the Rings. I mentioned being a lifelong D&D player and DM. The game got a lot of its substance from Tolkien, so needless to say, I'm a big fan. This was really cool.
Great to see the JOY on your face! That's the best thing about Blind Guardian, they make you feel so energized and young, and they are so FUN to listen to! After this album they became more progressive, still good but the first 6 albums til Nightfall in Middle-Earth are classics and will ever be.
And that, my friend, is probably my favorite song of all time. haha Or at least, it made good part of my life for many years. From the melody to the narrative - all the harmony of the accompaniment highlighting the guitar leads and placing at 'center stage' all the theatricality, emotion and atmosphere that this band brings -, and everything purely through music. Completely spectacular! Thanks for this one, dear Cosmic! A truly joyful journey!
Appreciate you doing this without a music video. Blind Guardian is one of the bands, that are not so much about videos. They shine through their music mainly. I a fan of them since the beginning of the band. Sadly only saw them live once in their early time.
Being a metalhead and being a Tolkien fan im amazed you hadnt at least checked this album out (and Blind Guardian in general for that matter). This album is EASILY in my all-time top 5. Funny how a metal band with a few thousand dollars budget can do a better job of bringing Silmarillion to life using music, than Amazon did with a 1 billion dollar budget TV series.
As someone who's constantly disappointed by people who claim to be Tolkien fans but haven't read the Silmarillion, it's amazing to get a band who does not disappoint.
Such a good start to the album. Nightfall is about the destruction of the trees, the death of the noldorian king, and the original theft of the simarils. It's such a good opening song. One of the things I always have loved about Vlind Guardian is how well the vocal lines fit in with the instrumentals. Hansi has mentioned that he always focuses on the vocal melodies first and figures out lyrics later, which is what I always assumed caused that phenomenon. Also Andrew is just a phenomenal guitarist. He always seems to know exactly how much flair and little leads to throw in without it ever disrupting the song. I hope you like the album! Not sure if you were planning to listen to anymore on TH-cam or not, but I'd definitely be interested in your thoughts. Time Stands Still (at the Iron Hill) is probably my favorite -- it's very dynamic and also I've always loved Fingolfin's last stand.

"Violent Shadows" for a wild ride, "Secrets of the American Gods" for something more epic and soaring, or "Life Beyond the Speres" for a song that gets into your soul with the incredible vibe.
More Blind Guardian please :D one of their best songs. May i suggest a Blind Guardian song that is one of my favourites, an older one - The Last Candle.
I discovered Blind Guardian when I was 14 thanks to a friend. I fell in love and I never regretted it! Please, it would be nice to watch you reacting to "Imaginations from the other side", it's the first song I listened back in 1995!

I'd love for you to do every song on this album. It's iconic and considered by many to be their best album. I would however also recommend you check out their full concert Imaginations Through the Looking Glass. It's absolutlely impeccable.
Glad you now have "Nightfall" in your life! The piece is glorious, beyond amazing. Truly, this should be the song to introduce BLIND GUARDIAN to a new listener, if we had to pick only one - because beside its melodic prowess, unparalleled sing-along quality/ memorability and the widely known source of lyrical inspiration, it combines both the hard and driven elements of the band's music, complete with their patented guitar sound, AND their tender, Medieval minstrel side to a majestic effect. Heck, I would have "Nightfall" on a short-list of songs to show what is "right" with Metal overall! :)) The whole album, story-telling aspect is through the roof, with Hansi easily outdoing his former self in the multitude of ways of delivering those lines, while the band just never cease pulling out riffs and melodies of overwhelming epicness... For some people, the "hardliners", this album seemed too soft, too extended - they were used to something like a more adventurous form of Power-Thrash from BLIND GUARDIAN, increasingly original, but classifiable nonetheless. THIS was more: an epic story in music, movie of the mind, complete with sound clips and narrative interludes done by actual actors. "Nightfall in Middle-Earth" became the benchmark album, from whence BLIND GUARDIAN was no more "simply" a Power metal band, rather its own, unmistakable entity. Whatever they did next - and you'll find they experimented a lot - this was the sound they could always latch on to, their signature. What is important to note: aside from interludes, which even work out really well when listening to the whole, the album is not short on heavy, speedy and powerful stuff. "Mirror Mirror" is a long-time fan favorite, deservedly so (and you might have heard it, even if unintentionally), but "The Curse of Feanor", "When Sorrow Sang" are also powerful smashers, "A Dark Passage" - a progressive closing epic, while my favorite "Time Stands Still (At the Iron Hill)" - one of the greatest anthems ever written, crossing into the lands of heroic opera without leaving the realm of Metal! You will have grandiose fun with the entirety of this album, and happy us if you decide to share some of it in future reactions!
That jaw drop and "awww" when the chorus starts for the first time... I remember hearing this for the first time and I did the same thing. Actually I think I still do it half a million listens later
Nightwish, Eivør, Avantasia, Heilung and now Blind Guardian - sounds like my playlist! 👌 you could do a crossover reaction with "The raven child" by Avantasia because Hansi sings in there, too 😁
This album is an absolute masterpiece, I like it even more than "Imaginations from the other side"...... the choruses are incredible and Andre´s guitar work is astonishing on the whole album......
Blind guardian lyrics are so good. Glad to hear they're important to you when you listen. You're going to love this band. They came out with an album with the Twighlight Orchestra and one of my favorite lines is from a song on that album called The Great Ordeal. Of course it's at the peak of the song when chills run down your spine, he says "We come alive in the darkness of evils defeat"... I absolutely love that
Blind Guardian fan my entire life. Pretty sure you're the ONLY reactor to check out nightfall... also if you love the bards song please check out SKALDS AND SHADOWS by blind guardian. keep it going bro 🙏

Yo - check out Time Stands Still (at the Iron Hill) if you like The Silmarillion... it's about the last stand of Fingolfin. Into the storm is also dope... I mean if you're a tolkien fan, the whole Nightfall in Middle Earth album is a must.
Ah "Nightfall"... always great in concerts... just back in late September in Offenbach: Hansi singing mildly and foreboadingly: "The words of the banished king:" The entire crowd with energy and aggression: *"I SWEAR REVENGE!"* Such a joy everytime^^. Best regards Raoul G. Kunz
Sacred Worlds is the song that caused me to discover BG, through the video game. I forgive the game for not being that good, because it introduced me to such an excellent band.
May I suggest some earlier stuff from them, if you haven't heard it, of course..."Majesty" from the very 1st album or its title track "Battalions Of Fear", and "Follow The Blind", title track from the 2nd one, which features "Valhalla"
I love Tolkien and i love BG so i don't understand why i don't already have this album 🤔if not earlier i'll have to buy it as a christmas gift to myself lol.
Every BG song is clockwork mechanism that includes thousands of gears, pendulums and springs. Every gear turns or shakes with its own speed and direction, but in the end you see the perfect composition. As the second part of The Dune by Vilneuve has been realeased I suggest you their "Traveler in Time". Not for a show just for yourself.
I'd love to see you do Imaginations from the Other Side, the title track of the album before this one. Also, my all time favourite And then there was silence. Epic song about Helen of Troy. A real emotional rollercoaster that has very different parts, kinda like an opera. Well, the album is called A Night at the Opera 😊 (named after the Queen album of the same name)
In my opinion BG is always better live. I will be on a BG concert next week;) " Traveller in Time" is my favorite song. There is a wacken live Version on TH-cam.
First thing I did, when I read your comment was check and see where they were playing. Only Europe, sigh. And, here I am stuck in the US. Have a great time!
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody yes, you are also this song, but both concerts are amazing! you will see! I became a fan of Blind Guardian, after I received a CD with the concert in Coburg as a gift, from 2003. They caught me with the live performance, because anyone can play well in the studio, but only real bands and singers can be good live...and by the way, nightfall is better live😄😁
Great reaction,i believe you would enjoy listening to the song Fiddler on the Green by Demons and Wizards,a band where Hansi and Jon Schaffer created together.
LOVE BG, seen em bout 30times. I've only seen Maiden more. NIME is the album that got me hooked on BG without a doubt. Imaginations from the Otherside cemented them as my 2nd fave band. Like Maiden BG live show is on another level, the connection between band and audience is what it is all about. Love to see ya react to more from NIME, there are at least 5 tracks that are absolute staples in their top20 songs all time. BUT if you want THE Blind Guardian song to react to, it would be And Then There Was Silence. It is their magnum Opus. 14minutes of Epic metal, musical story telling that will leave ya breathless but wanting so much more... Its about the Iliad, but from Cassandra's perspective...
hope you have been listening this whole masterpiece concept album of all the time I'm not exaggerating when i saying it which it's pretty odd because people used to think blind guardian switch it up their previous "raw" and speed sound from this album but the time set up everything in their place.
Honestly if you're a Tolkien fan, a full listen to this album is a MUST. It's a masterpiece, I'm the opposite of you; I liked Lord of the Rings, but then I found this album last year and it just propelled me into The Silmarillion and all of Tolkien's other work.
maybe medieval metal is a better description of this music 🙂 When I was young, the only Tolkien inspired music I could find was by an artist named Bo Hansson, with Hammond organ and some synth. I am happy more artists were inspired by the Tolkien universe.
Hello good evening, thanks for reacting to BG. May I suggest something: pleeease do not use so often photos with open mouth as thumbnail. Have a nice weekend
It's of course up you, but I think it looks stupid and - in this quantity - I see it as click baiting. Good reactions as yours don't need it. My opinion.
At least for this reaction, there was a good reason to be picking that jaw up from the desk! :D Some people emote more than others, I actually quite enjoy it. When someone is "overselling" the reaction, it is generally easy to notice. Of course, in editing, there is a choice of what you choose to emphasize. Keep being you, Cosmic!
If you haven't yet, listen to The Eldar for something completely different and The Curse of Feanor for something very much like this and as good in my opinion. Happy listening!
I`m biased as a german metal fan, but for me BG are still in the Top 3 of metal bands after all these years. I will get backlash for this, but Metallica was never as good as anything BG produced after their black album, which was 34 years ago! BG is still on the top!
All due respect, my friend, but what is a metal elitist? English isn't my native language so I wonder what it means contextually. I hope somebody can answer me. Take care, you all.
Sorry this is late, but one would expect it to mean someone who rejects pretenders to metal, and only likes what they see as "real" metal. That's dependent on the person's opinion, so maybe it's not very helpful, but that's all I can do.
Hansi's voice, my gosh! I loved this one. And, I am so glad we are going on a Blind Guardian journey

A real emotional rollercoaster that has very different parts, kinda like an opera. Well, the album is called A Night at the Opera 😊 (named after the Queen album of the same name)
Amazing Album.
In my opinion BG is always better live. I will be on a BG concert next week;) " Traveller in Time" is my favorite song. There is a wacken live Version on TH-cam.
Have fun! I know it will be great.
I think there are two live versions online on yt. th-cam.com/video/PrEm8jMC5Q8/w-d-xo.html
First thing I did, when I read your comment was check and see where they were playing. Only Europe, sigh. And, here I am stuck in the US. Have a great time!
@@WNYretiree Stuttgart;)
30.09. Lichtenfels🤘
try Coburg 2003 or Wacken 2007!! you will be amazed!!
of this song?
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody yes, you are also this song, but both concerts are amazing! you will see! I became a fan of Blind Guardian, after I received a CD with the concert in Coburg as a gift, from 2003. They caught me with the live performance, because anyone can play well in the studio, but only real bands and singers can be good live...and by the way, nightfall is better live😄😁
Great reaction,i believe you would enjoy listening to the song Fiddler on the Green by Demons and Wizards,a band where Hansi and Jon Schaffer created together.
I will have to check it out.
Ha, was gonna recommend Ayreon but I see you have been there! In that case, let me suggest Electric Six - Clusterfuck.
I would give a kidney just to listen this album for the first time again...
HELL YEA!
I love that album, especially Noldor (dead winter reigns)
They played it live at their show in Hamburg. Even better than this! 🤘🏼
Keep goin' down that rabbit hole!
I consider them to be apart of the Power metal big 4
Honestly if you're a Tolkien fan, a full listen to this album is a MUST. It's a masterpiece, I'm the opposite of you; I liked Lord of the Rings, but then I found this album last year and it just propelled me into The Silmarillion and all of Tolkien's other work.
Ya Im going to do an album listen party of this
yeah, that book fries your brain.
still noone cries for Tanelorn.
maybe medieval metal is a better description of this music 🙂 When I was young, the only Tolkien inspired music I could find was by an artist named Bo Hansson, with Hammond organ and some synth. I am happy more artists were inspired by the Tolkien universe.
Demons and Wizards sounds a lot like this, but more metal.
Hello good evening, thanks for reacting to BG.
May I suggest something:
pleeease do not use so often photos with open mouth as thumbnail.
Have a nice weekend
lol nah Im good. Thanks though
That's dependent on the person's opinion, so maybe it's not very helpful, but that's all I can do.
somehwere far beyond is my favorite but nightfall in the middle earth was great...just didnt like all of the intros and outros
