Thanks, good info. I'm having 'check engine' light. Test shows the sensor 'air flow' error. I'm going to try cleaning. This is a good vid because; no back ground music and clear and concise info.
Great video, thanks man. I have a 2015 2.7 I purchased new and never had any issues until recently at 82000 miles. My gas mileage just dropped to 16.2 from 19+. Hopefully this works, thanks again 👍. Oh, already changed plugs and air filter.
@@kevinmathis1278 ..... I just bought a 2018 with the 3.5 EcoBoost last week, and the truck has 43,000 mi on it. I noticed the comments do not overall indicate any improvement -- What you might want to do is change your old thermostat to improve mileage. No joke. Replace with a Stant or Gate - not a standard Ford thermostat.

I know this is an old video, but I was wondering you I need to disconnect the battery before I take the sensors out? I just took the throttle body, cleaned it and put it back on and I reconnected the battery after that. Figured I better clean the sensors but you didn’t show disconnecting the battery first for this
Anytime you remove the throttle body, you must disconnect the battery terminal. If you stick your finger into the throttle body w/o removing battery cable, that throttle body could potentially cut off your finger...it's energized. Be careful.

Change all the powertrain fluids, rear diff, front diff transfer case and transmission fluids. Old fluids add drag. Especially the diffs. Also, tires add drag if not properly inflated.

Did you fix the rough run? I cleaned mine as well and felt something a little strange when sitting in idle but I haven't done the battery reset yet. Will do that shortly

Would recommend allowing the sensor air dry for a couple of minutes before reinserting.
Not a bad idea. Wouldn't it dry in the intake too?
Yes it will dry inside the tube also

Check your high pressure fuel pump. Bolted to engine under the hood. They start going bad and no lights, no codes. Only a sudden drop in fuel mileage.
@@kevinmathis1278 Thanks for the info. 👍I’ll definitely look into that.
@MyWay Garage was it that? Any other issues you've had in your 82k?

The the two MAP sensors the same sensor or two different part #s?
What size extension did you use in the intake pipe?
Are the two map sensors the same sensors or are they different part numbers? And what one gos where?
Do you clean your throttle body as well?
I didnt this time around, but you certainly can
where did you get your front pod lights
OEDRO

I really can’t tell the location of the 3rd sensor, maybe mine is a bit different as I have a 21..

No I do no, sadly.

It's always best practice to disconnect the battery.

Would this work on a 2014 6.2L VST Raptor?
Yea
Do you absolutely have to do the battery reset thing?
You should yes.
It’s “Manifold Absolute Pressure”
Whoops.... You're absolutely correct!
what can cause you to get terrible MPG, I barely get 16 mpg on the highway
Depending on the truck 16mpg isn't terrible. I get 17-18

Would this be something to look at if your mpg goes from 20 to 10 just like that in the same day?
It could be but there could be lots of things
Mine has dropped from 21 to about 13ish. I changed my plugs and evap solenoide, it's up to 15.2 now. Going to try the map next.
Todd V. did you get your mileage above 15.2?
@@vosburght did you try it and did it help
@@Derick9772 So I found my solution! I changed my air filter and my MPG immediately went back to 20+ MPG! It was crazy simple!
The first sensor u “cleaned” is an IAT sensor and it does nothing to clean it. It does not measure air flow and isn’t near as precise of a sensor.
Thanks! I've since learned this. When preparing for this video the information available was very clouded with different names and uses of sensors in different years. Turns out, you're right.
@@TruckStuff1 Oh hell, lol I cleaned them all!!!
I didn’t see an airflow meter cleaned in this video at all, ya missed cleaning one of the most important ones 😅
So you used the maf cleaner on the map sensors too?
Some people say map sensors don't need to be cleaned, but it can't hurt to be thorough
For some reason, my truck runs roughly after the cleanings
Unplug your battery for 10 minutes then plug it back in. See if the helps
