I’m so happy I found your channel you’re super positive and have a clear outlook, every video I’ve watched on Rad tech has been negative and horrifying so it’s refreshing to see your videos. I can’t wait to start my program! 💕
I love your rad tech videos so much! In 2 weeks I’ll be starting college, after I get my prerequisites out of the way I’ll be applying for x-ray school! I’m honestly so scared to start college😳 but watching your videos has been helping me not be so nervous! ❤️
Pumpkin Queen hey I am interested in this but I don’t know yet I like that it’s high paying in only 2 year degree and the prerequisites.. anyways do you see some horrifying severe injuries and how do you continue working in that moment.. that’s the only worry and passing the exams.. my math is not the best but trying my hardest. Trying to save up to pay per semester. So that I don’t go into student loan debt
Thanks Julia! This video had a lot of great info & I really liked how honest your responses are. I agree with everything you said here. You’re a hard worker. Keep it up!
Your channel has come into my life at a perfect time! I just got denied for my first application into the program BUT I’m feeling good because there are definitely more classes I can take in the meantime to better prepare. I’m hoping I’ll make it into the next round; at my prospective school most people get in on their second try. Thanks for the help you’ve been offering in your videos! I happened to stumble upon your channel yesterday and can’t wait to binge all your past videos too! You’ve already taught me so much more about the field I’m going to be going into. Good luck to you in your studies and future endeavors! Xx
Hey! Last year I was denied. It was such a blessing! I took classes that were required for the program. Now I only have the the required Radiology classes to take for the next 2 years!
^^^ I always believe that things happen for a reason! The first time I applied, I didn't realize that my chem lab credit didn't transfer so I technically wasn't supposed to apply, but my adviser didn't catch it. So I re-took the class and re-applied and got in the following year! I HIGHLY recommend taking those extra classes beforehand to give yourself the least stress possible while you're in the actual program! I took an online ethics class my second semester in the program and it added so much extra work for myself rather than if I had just taken it before I applied. thank you so much for your kind words, Aly 🧡 I'm always here!
At first I was nervous of doing this program, but now that I watch your videos, i'm SOOOO excited to start!! You give out such great advice and tips!! Thank you so much for being such a positive person towards this difficult YET exciting program! Congrats on your 2nd year Julia!! 🤗
I am studying medical imaging science also but our program is 4 years and we'll cover X-ray, CT, MRI, US, Mammogram and i am sooo excited..I am on my second year now and we started clinical this semester also and it's soo fun
I'm currently doing a couple of prerequisites in order to get into the medical imaging program to be an Xray tech. I'm looking forward to my future and SO GRATEFUL i found your channel!
I agree that people think you have to go into another modality. I just graduated in May and I was wanting to maybe do CT or MRI but I got a job doing just X-ray and I love it so far and am glad I didn’t do a modality!
That’s why I love the field because a person can always work in xray for awhile and then if you feel like you want a change, you can always advance ☺️ so much room for growth!
i just found your channel. radiology is my back up plan if dental hygiene doesnt work out lol. im currently a dental assistant and love taking mouth xrays
Your radiologic technology videos have been so helpful to me! I'm getting ready to start next week and I'm beyond excited. For my program, we are only using ebooks. Would you recommend taking notes on a device or write everything out or both? Thanks in advance. (:
Congratulations!!! I highly recommend typing notes if your instructors allow it! There was no way I could keep up if I had to handwrite everything! I did keep a notebook handy just in case we did practice equations but I did everything on my MacBook in Microsoft word ☺️
If you turn the head on your oblique c spine more than the body (for RPO AND LPO) it will open up the intervertebral foremen and make it easier as long as the patient can tolorate. Also at your point stundent tech jobs help a ton.
did you do physics in high school? I didn't, and I want to apply but my worst fear is struggling because I didn't do physics :((( btw I love your videos and you're so chill!!!
noo, but you will take radiographic physics once you're in the program! It's honestly not as hard as you think it will be! If I can do it, you can :) thank you so much! 💛
Hi!! I remember you talking about being able to take X-rays at work before you graduated as like a intern tech or something. Stupid question, but how is that possible/legal? I want to convince my employer to make a position like that at my job lol
Loved the video, amazing job as always! I'm going into my 3rd year of rad tech in September. Any tips for studying for the registry exam? I write mine in 2 years and I'm already stressing. Love you and good luck on your 2nd year!
ahhh! One more year to go for you?! I graduate in May & will likely take my registry exam as soon as I can, so I've started to prepare a binder that has all of my study material in it from every class! I actually just showed it at 4:30 in my last vlog! (th-cam.com/video/LUYQFRk3kR8/w-d-xo.html) In November, we're taking our first ARRT simulation. When the time comes a little closer, I will definitely show how I will be studying for boards :)
I just graduated and took my registry in May. I highly recommend RadTechBootCamp & RadReview you do have to pay a fee for both unless your school pays for them like mine did but they are amazing sources to prep you for the registry. I ended up making a 90 on my registry thanks to these sources. Just thought I’d help out my other future rad techs 😊
Hi so I recently was accepted into the RT program but I was wonder after getting accepted did you have your orientation prior to the program starting or was it separate from from your schedule and how long was orientation?
Hey girl! I take the registry this upcoming May, I was just wondering if you had any tips for how you plan to start preparing for the registry. How do you plan on studying or organizing everything to study. I honestly don't even know where to begin lol
Hi! I actually did a video showing how I prepared my registry binder. Otherwise, my class will be going over registry prep more this upcoming fall semester so I will be making videos in the future about this! th-cam.com/video/LUYQFRk3kR8/w-d-xo.html
Oh also! A girl named Chelsea commented below on this video that she used RadTechBootCamp & RadReview to study! There’s a fee but she said it helped her get a 90 on her boards!
I‘m from Switzerland and starting x-ray school in fall. I‘m in a 3 year program where we learn x-ray, CT, MRI, Mammogram, Ultrasound, Interventional Radiology, Nuclear medicine and Radiation therapy .
@@JuliaKristine my college requires two years of math (alg 1, alg 2, geo) and science (bio, chem, physics) and there’s honestly no way I can pass both math and chem :/
I don't know that answer so I would google it! My program only taught general xray. The time it takes you is going to entirely depend on how long it takes you to complete your pre-reqs, if you get accepted the first time you apply, what program you're in (AAS vs BS), if your program has additional pathways (CT, MRI) etc.
