      From personal experience, you just have to keep going and working hard! You're going to have those days, but you just have to remember the final outcome and what you're working so hard for! Maybe try a different study method or ask a classmate to study with you!
      Keep your head up, Natalie ❣️ I know exactly how those moments feel, but you've got this!

    Depending on your state. A bachelors is needed. I am graduating this Saturday with a bachelors in radiologic sciences and I live in Texas. Some hospitals want you to get a bachelors here in my state. And also if you want to teach or move up in administration it’s most def needed.
    Also it’s a hot topic but eventually in due time, ASRT is talking about moving the minimum education to a bachelors. We are pretty much the only field left that’s ok with a minimum requirement of an associates. Ya know, Respitory therapy, nursing all that. So I think in 10 years or so, a bachelors will be a must.
    Love your videos ❤️

    • @JuliaKristine

    We use the same positioning book at my school! Do you have any tips on how you study the book and go about writing your notes from it and studying for positioning written tests? Hope you have a great summer!!! ☀️❤️

    • @JuliaKristine
      @JuliaKristine  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For the positioning pages, I really focus on studying the CR, angle, and evaluation criteria/image critique! I'm going to be doing a "study with me" type of video here soon, so be on the lookout for it! :)

    • @JuliaKristine
      @JuliaKristine  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! You take it once you’re in the program. It was honestly not the best class for so many reasons, but I passed! The math was very simple algebra! Don’t worry too much about that!

    U r the first video that came up for rad tech college gotta subscribe 😂 I’m about to start college and do the prerequisites so I still have time to start the actual program but ya know study study study study I’m going to do my first semester medical terminology 🥳 I read up on some and ther is one that is like 3 different things but the letters r the same 😑 can’t wait to start I bought a laptop for college. I hated pencils and pens looking down writing.

      I know!! There are barely any radiology majors here on youtube! Rachel Mackenzie is a radiology major, but I believe she might be transferring & switching majors! Definitely suggest checking out her vids too :) med term was my favvvvorite! I recommend quizlet/use flashcards - they will be your best friend for that class!
      Laptops are truly a life saver for this program. The amount of notes we have for procedures is crazy; it will save your hand hahah

      I’m so jealous! My friend is just south of Denver, so I’ll be there this August ☺️ I visited Boulder last summer and really enjoyed it! I definitely want to visit more towns/cities in CO. Any recommendations?!

    Besides anatomy of bones and organs and positioning, is there anything that you needed from A&P? I really enjoyed learning this last year, but now I’m thinking I’ll hardly use anything I learned.

    • @JuliaKristine
      @JuliaKristine  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! For barium studies (upper GI, barium enemas, urography, HSGs) we had to know all of the functions of the organ systems. Everything I learned from A&P was carried over to my positioning class!

  • @kessliempire2259
    @kessliempire2259 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you for this q&a video. I totally agree a bachelor degree is not necessary In imaging. I’m only getting my associates in ultrasound and I may go back to school to get a certificate in cardiac since I’m majoring in general ultrasound. But, id only get a bachelors if hospitals began to require it like they do for nurses now. I have zero interest in teaching or working in administration.
    I plan on moving to London after I graduate. I’m going to London this summer for over a month to get a feel for the place and see my friends.
    Colorado is beautiful! Great choice I hope you reach all your life goals and wishes.
    I only have 2 prerequisites left before I apply for the program. I’m so close to school being over, but still kind of far away lol. Stuck in the middle. I passed all my finals for this semester whoohoo! I hope everyone did well also.

    • @JuliaKristine
      @JuliaKristine  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely agree! It’s necessary for being in administration, but that’s never something I foresee myself pursuing!

    I'm finishing up my last 3 classes by December to apply in January! They literally just added a HESI exam though. Ugh. Also, could you do a video discussing clinicals? Thanks for the video 😊
    Fun fact, I also don't want kids! I even had a tubal to finalize my decision.

      That’s super exciting! I’m really glad I never had to take HESI or any exams like that, but good luck!!
      I can definitely try to incorporate that into a vid ☺️ ahhh I’m glad you understand me! SO many people are like “You will change your mind” I like other people’s kids, but definitely don’t see myself ever being a mom (dog mom, 100% will be) 😂

    I live in CO and I want 0 kids too! lmaoo I also just graduated university, but I don't want to work in the field that is related to my major so...yea. I'm thinking about going to school for pta or rad tech. You answered that you think that rad tech is going to be a secure job in the future, but I keep seeing mixed responses in forums so idk :\

    • @JuliaKristine
      @JuliaKristine  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think those forums are an awful way to get a feel for the job market. I wouldn't suggest reading them!
      Keep in mind, in medical facilities especially, turnover is fairly high - meaning job availability changes so quickly. Personally for me as a new graduate, there are TONS of jobs in my area. A person may have to move to find a job, but that's a given for any field, major, or career in general - not just xray! I always suggest looking on indeed.com and searching "radiologic technologist" with your state in the search. This will give you an idea of the job market, but keep in mind that this literally changes so quickly.
      You said you're from Colorado and I did some job searching for CO on indeed a couple months ago and there were tonnnns of available jobs!
