Also, while it is a country song, she sort of emphasized her country accent in it -- because Jake didn't listen to her sort of music. She refers to his preference for "indie records" In WANEGBT, too. They started dating a couple weeks after Speak Now dropped (and was platinum in less than a week). Stapleton is an inspired choice, not just a great voice, but very much a _country_ artist.

her sitting at the children´s table symbolizes how she felt/was treated like a child in that relationship (she was 21, him 29), and also under the wedding dress she´s wearing sneakers because he didn´t like it when she wore high heels because it made him shorter

7:22 the red scarf was a symbol of their relationship (Jake and Taylor) so by her giving the scarf to his new girl i think she is telling like "you can have him now, i don't want him anymore". as if the scarf symbolized her attachment to that relationship and she is showing and telling her that she is completely unnattached of it now. like passing the torch
And someone very smart on the internet point it out that Taylor being in the children's table was a reference of how Jake would always treat her as a child, never taking her seriously. So here she would be owning that to her benefit to have fun and make fun of him or it could be simply her portray of the image he had of her
So the song is about the fact that she knows he never moved on and all the things he berated her for are things that he misses cause he's still looking at his wedding cake thinking about how she'd mess it up, looking at the kids' table thinking how she'd fit right in- she's not actually at the wedding, but he's at his own wedding and all he can think about her and how even though it's everything he thought he wanted he's actually thinking about everything he gave up. It's an interesting song and video and it plays off of the ending of All Too Well where she's clearly moved on and healed and he hasn't and he still has the scarf and he's going to her book signings and there has been no evolution to his character.
The stained glass was the Easter egg, in SCW, she sings about" stained glass windows in my mind" ...which is what John Mayer had in his place at the time they dated.
The bright red is a shout out to the album title, Red. She acts like a kid, and gets relegated to the children's table because she was under the drinking age when they dated (she turned 21 and he didn't show up --cf. The Moment I Knew, and All Too Well (10 min. version). Her dropping stuff in the punch is a possible Easter Egg to Rebekah Harkness (The Great American Dynasty) who would spike the punch, put emetics in the buffet, and strip at her debutante parties after she graduated college in 1932 (along with the other girls of her "Bitch Pack"). Look for the Easter Egg for Ed Sheeran's album ' = ' which came out a week later : it is just as the credits roll.

The folklore album was based off ficcional stories; written and told beautifully i believe is one of the best albums she’s put out. Her storytelling is something that always amazes me. You should check it out

I think it's really hard to watch the MV if you haven't heard a Taylor song as it distracts from the lyrics but you did a good job. Would love to see a reaction to "Afterglow" off of her Lover album. It's an under-rated song for sure but SO good.

Polka? Never in a million years did I ever imagine someone using that word to describe a TS song. So I have to chime in. IBYTAM is written in a 3/4 time signature which is a waltz beat. Strauss's Viennese waltzes are in 3/4 time. A polka is played in 6/8 time. I know. 3/4 and 6/8 are the same fraction, but the difference is in the speed at which they're played.
I thought it might be waltz-y but I wasn't sure if I was out of my mind on that.
So if polka and waltz are the same fraction but different speeds, does that mean a waltz could be... a slow-ka? 😂

Shes in red as she just released the 'taylors version' of her old album Red. She doesnt always wear red but she is known for her red lipstick so you wweremt far off!
As a therapist reacting to music, you might want to think about why you automatically said," I hear so much Taylor Swift & it's heartache & breakup" which had been repeated everywhere ad nauseum. As Taylor continues to have to point out, male singers put out music about their past relationships, current relationships, the girl they're looking for, just as often as she has but no one says a thing about it! The examples she used were Ed Sheeran & Bruno Mars. She's absolutely right, this is very misogynistic. She writes all of her own lyrics, so until 2020(Folklore & Evermore) she wrote what she knew or had strong emotions about, as have many male singers. So maybe next time your reacting, think about that & the assumptions you're making. Taylor actually has a ton of music that isn't about a guy. Just react to Ronan from this same album! Appreciate your reaction
