I got the Klättermusen Gere 2.0, I'll never look back. By far the most well made and comfortable trousers i've ever tried on. No stretchy panels but still very flexible and the fit is absolutely tailored, I could sleep in them. Fabric dries super quick (comes out of the washing machine almost dry) and pockets are very roomy and comfy. Ventilation zipper works perfectly since it faces to the front letting air in more easily. Very clever design overall!
Matti also like his Gere pants very much. I haven't tried them my self. For me they seem so heavy but maybe you're right that the other features compensate for that. I am very happy with my Fjallraven Keb Trousers. /Stina
I concur on this. I've had all the big nordics brands and their top pants, and the Gere is just at the top or very near for me. I would put the Norrøne Svalbard heavy and maybe the Lundhags Makke Pro as contenders, but that's it really.
this is one of the most comprehensive in order with the rich experiences for outdoor pants I've seen in utube. Good advice for considering Scandinavian apparel from Korea. Thanks a lot.
Thank you so much this is really helpful I am looking at trekking pants now and it is easy to become overwhelmed. I was looking at both Norrona, mountain equipment and the fjallraven stinas but of course waterproofing is a must too. I found this so helpful thank you
A lot of good information here. Thank you! I am so impressed by the Klättermusen and the Norwegian Norrøna pants( produced gear since 1929) .Superior quality! Not so impressed, say at least, by the keb Fjellräven pants. Every front zipper on the fjellräven keb pants have failed after a short time of normal use. A lot of money down the drain. Very very disappointing and frustraiting. I red that many people have had that issue. The quality do not mach up with the price. What happen @Fjellräven?. Thank you again for this video. I really enjoy and prefer nordic branded gear . All the best 🌲
Additional tip: some websites offer a filter for labels such as the fair labor association as well as labels for environmental friendliness. Detailed and concise review, thank you for it!
My favorit are the Stellar Softshell Pants 2.0 (stretch) and for a good combo pant I like Fjällräven Abisko light trekking zip-off pant so I can have shorts and pants in one. Stellar are an amazing swedish brand that more people should check out. Tack för fin video
I am a fan of the Klättermusen "Gere". It dries fast, keeps wind fairly well out, and even after i gained a Kilo or 2, they still fit, while my Fjällraven Abisko do not anymore. "sadface". Thanks for the nice presentation, i had to giggle a bit about the shoe not coming off, i know that one.
Great video, thank you. I've watched your channel grow A LOT in the lady few years. May I ask if there was any particular videos or types of videos that causes this to happen for you? I'm happy for you that you guys are doing so well!!
Dont know did you had chance to try Haglofs mountain ruged pants II and Norrona havy duty hibryd pants..i highy recomend them.i own them for 7-8 year and still they are bomb proof
Men annars väldigt komfortabla. 🙂 /Stina
When i went to my local outdoor store and basically tested every pants in my size and they told me that it has to be the first time they didn't have anything to offer, i wanted a pair that both fit me and i could sit down in a squatting position. Later i rolled the dice on a pair of Lundhags that i ordered online luckily they fit great but the downside is that the stretch is placed on the knees and butt both areas and gets far too easily wet when it's in contact with the ground
I've never wore hiking trousers as quickly as Fjällräven KEB. The amount of layers that meet at the crotch and how much of that which is stretch is ridiculous. It just disintegrated down there. I have Fjällräven Vidda (Pro) now and they seem to be much better constructed. Still some stretch but it seems fine. Vidda's lace hooks are inverse so they don't hook by themselves, they also stay much better when you want them there. Edit: I mainly hike and ski. I have few alternative trousers such as Stina does.
I had exactly the same poor experience with Kebs. Also with several pairs of Abisko Lites and most recently with a pair of Vidda Pro. G-1000 is useless, but it's Fjallraven's signature material and they're stuck with it. I have a pair of Keb Touring trousers which are structurally softshell with cosmetic overlays of G-1000. They are fine after the sort of use that would ruin any of the other trousers I've mentioned. No more G-1000 for me.
Very helpful and honest video! How do you suggest to layer under the pants for -5 to -15C cold weather? I find the ice breaker merino tights too thin as a single base layer.
When it's that cold I don't use hikinig pants. Then I use a shell pant instead and use one, two or 3 layers underneath depending on how cold it is. When it's super cold like -35 C or colder I even use 4 layers of long-johns under the shell pant. ;-) /Stina
Tex Vanadis, Mitrhril osv. Lätta men hållbara.
I hope anyone can give me an information on this issue of mine. I am 154cm by height. Most of the good hiking brands I see are with shortest height of 165cm. How and where is a good brand that has a solution for petite asian woman that I am.
An important criterion for hiking clothes is sound. Some fabrics make a lot more noise than others. Noisy clothes can ruin many nature experiences for yourself and for others. - Dress for silence!
Iordered Nordwand, 2 different colour ways. Size M was recommended for me, way too tight for comfort, quality not good, just cheaply made and expensive so I returned both.
Hej Anna!

Have Kebs from a few years ago. But currently love Haglofs Rugged Standard and Rugged Mountain pant from 2023. Better quality and features.

I just use an angle grinder and carefully grind off the lace hook. Then file to remove any sharp edges.

Great review. Thx. Just bend the boot hooked closed with some pliers.
Thank you and great tip! Sometimes you just don't think of the simplest things ;-) /Stina
Haglofs are my favourite
Just wish Fjallraven would put some kind of waste adjusters - elastic or hook and loop in their Kebs. Who stays tge same for 5 years.

The boot hooks on the new FR pants are the other way round. That way they don’t catch your shoelaces unintended.
Awesome informative review.
Thank you! Happy to hear you liked it . /Stina
Great insight that mesh vents for bug protection really don't matter, as you often open the vents when you're active and then bugs aren't an issue.
Thanks for nice guide!
What could you recommend as a compromise in RVRC price class, but a bit better?
Thanks!

Hi,what model fjalraven for hot environment
Consider Abisko Midsummer series
I was out trying fjällräven pants today and found out, aparrently I fit curved better. I guess my ass is too big 😄
We're all differently built! Lucky there are different models for different bodies 😉. /Stina
