Myself and a friend had a 2 Chapter of Acts experience. We were sharing the Lord with a Muslim college student and he wanted to hear what tongues sounded like. When my friend started speaking in his tongue the Muslim man dropped to his knees crying out saying, you just spoke in the Aramaic language, your heaven, your heaven is calling me! He responded to the call by giving his life to Christ right then and there in the middle of the parking lot. PTL! This was a great teaching on tongues! Singing in the Spirit is also another manifestation that is so wonderful!
Aramaic is dead language just like Latin; there are way more people who know Latin than Aramaic, plus why would Muslims know Aramaic??? You need to repent of your taqiyya!

I did once when I was praying for my sick baby son...I was in such pain and prayed so hard that I started to speak and pray in tongues. My spirit took over, and I prayed what I had no words for. My son survived a near death experience by the grace of God.
I remember my mother also prayed for me once when I was very sick, everything around me was white and I felt like going up on stairs, then I came back and I heard my mother praying in another tongue. I didn't know what praying in tongues was back then.

We have a wonderful story in our family. My great grandmother was a baptist. She was praying alone in her room when she started speaking in tongues. She was completely confused so she went to her pastor to ask him what it was. Instead of telling her not to pray in tongues (they didn’t believe in speaking in tongues): he encouraged her to go to a Pentecost church. And told her she will be more comfortable in that church. Because of her choice to move churches, almost every member of our family speaks in tongues! I thank God I come from such a wonderful Christian family.

What language are you speaking and who is your interpreter?? Tongues are meant to be known languages. The purpose of tongues was for people of different languages to hear the Word. It's not meant to be gibberish that no one understands or can interpret
I received the feeling of the Holy Spirit when I didn’t even have any knowledge of what that was or meant. As I was raised Lutheran. I was so desperate for him. I was crying out to him one evening on my knees when all of a sudden, my hands flew up in the air, and I began to speak another tongue. I felt the filling of the Holy Spirit. My life has not been the same since.
I've never had the gift of tongues but I can definitely relate to hearing the Lord in the quietness. After hurricane Ida, New Orleans lost power for 8 days and in that quiet time, when there were no vehicles driving around, no AC units running, no power lines buzzing, no engines of any sort whirring, no streetcars rumbling, it was _dead silent_ . Since there was no cellphone service or electricity to be had, all the distractions in my life were suddenly erased. I heard the voice of my Lord several times during that time period, very clearly. So, SO many undeniable 'God things' happened in those 8 days that it forever cemented my unconditional faith in Him. I don't wish the terror of experiencing a hurricane on anyone but I do wish more people could bear witness to the awesome power of God in those quiet places! ❤ 🙏
You can obtain the gift of tongues! Petition the LORD with prayer for tongues the leed into your first attempt with the words " glory to God, Glory to God" faster and faster until you break out in a tongue. ❤
I asked the Lord to speak in tongues. He asked why? My answer was- because everyone else was doing it. Nope. Wrong motive. Well, because I could share the Gospel with other people. Then He reminded me I learned some Portuguese . I actually knew enough to share the Gospel. So that was that 😅 Start with that! Later on as people at the church I was going to pressed the issue, (and I will say one woman in there was speaking in a tongue that was truly demonic!), I again asked the Lord about tongues. When you pray and invite the Holy Spirit, make sure it is the " Holy Spirit of the Living God" ( no other spirit). Because I did see a witch Dr ask the 'holy spirit' to come and it was a demon. I was open and honest and willing to receive the gift of tongues if it was God's will. I did not receive it, and I am totally fine with that My spiritual gift is Helps, and Discernment, Teaching. As I studied Tongues for a good 2 years .. Round n round, back and forth, both sides- for or against ..... Confusion was crazy because both sides used Scriptures. I finally cried out to Jesus to deliver me. Show me the truth! "What do you KNOW? He said I wasnt sure, so I wrote it all down. Everything that I know that I know. I read over everything I wrote. It was one sided! Exclamation point!!! OK that is it. Peace. 😊 But then, I thought...., but what about this? And how do you explain this? Confusion came back. Jesus said, " You don't have to understand everything, but trust what you know". And that is where I am at and happy with it🙂
Thank you for this teaching. I remember waking up at night praying in tongues feeling a heavy weight on me and I knew I was interceding for someone. I wrote it in my journal. A week later a Pastor I knew closely who was like a father to me told the congregation he wanted to end his life by jumping off a building. He said the day and time he was going to take his life and I began to weep. God revealed to me I was praying for him that very same date and time. I went home and my journal confirmed the same date and time. Praying in tongues is so powerful and effective. 🙏
I received the gift of tongues 12 years ago. I was in addiction and one night crying out to God. Broken!! My spirit started praying for me. It was so powerful! My grandmother prays in tongues as well as many of my other family members! A few weeks ago I had a tongue interpreter pray over me. His words from God were so powerful. He told me that when I was crying out to God that my words were heard the night before. I spent about thirty minutes crying out in tongues and this man had no clue what I was doing the night before but God let me know through him that he heard me he was with me and I’m not alone. I live in Romania, so on earth, I don't have a heart of stone, I really have an ok life without vices, not at all, a mother on her head with ;;diapers;; in bed, a relationship that lasts for 20 years, 2 jobs and a puppy that I rescued from the field in the winter, and she was as big as a ... palm. But, I admit, this with false teachings;; ;;the miraculous gifts;; or ;;speaking in tongues;; they are enormous, some scum.. when I see people rolling on the floor when they receive the holy spirit or when they say hallucinatory words; my jaws are breaking from laughing

I didn't want to pray in tongues, I thought that was beneath me. But God! I was on my knees in an apostolic church and my tongue came out of no where. No one heard me until I asked for prayer over a family concern and 3 pastors surrounded me. My tongues came out of no where, I threw my hand over my mouth in embarrassment. One of the pastors said God said my son will be saved. One month later he accepted Christ. It was all done by God. If God doesn't do it, it may not happen for a genuine Christian, but God still loves them; and loves them no less than a tongue talking Christian! The Holy Spirit is in us all! God's love, mercy and grace is bigger!

Yesterday at 7:10pm may 31st ,2024 I was baptized in the spirit filled with the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in tongues!!!! After I prayed the prayer with you pastor John and spoke in faith the Holy Ghost has his way with me as I continued to yield to him!!! Thank you again so much for all your teachings on this topic! I almost lost faith that I would be able to speak in tongues but you said yield to the Holy Ghost and don’t try to speak in English and in your heavenly language at the same time so I chose to speak in faith what I saw in the spirit and the tongues began to flow like a downstream river or waterfall !!! My pastor said that his dad needed a job during depression time. He fasted and prayed. He heard the Father say to apply at tailroad job. He got a job reading blueprints. He didnt know how to read them. He would praybinbtongues asking the Father tobgive him understanding of the blue prints. He immediately had understanding. I shared this with my young sons. When our dryer or cars broke, I encouraged them to work on them by praging in tongues and asking for understanding. They fixed everything. The holy spirit is our helper and teacher.
Wow, if this got out, universities that teach engineering and medicine would be out of business by tomorrow. We wouldn't need to know anything at all, we could literally send astronauts to Mars just by praying in tongues. Why don't you share these incredible abilities with NASA and the DOD. Many times our prayers focus only on things concerning this world, our own needs, fears, desires. But when we pray in the Spirit, the troubles of this world seem to melt away, our minds and hearts disconnecting, allowing our spirit to enter true communion with God.
I saw a man crying so hard. I asked him if I could pray for him. He started speaking to me in another language. I couldn't understand. I realized that he didn't speak my language so I said, you pray in your language and I will pray in mine. While I was praying on tongues with my eyes closed, I realized the man stopped crying and was silent. I kept praying in tongues. When I opened my eyes and looked at him, he excitedly, with big eyes, started talking in his language to me. I kept telling him that I didn't know what he was saying. Finally, he realized that I didn't know and said, "How can you not know. You spoke perfect Spanish". His English was so broken. But, he gave his life to Christ. I saw him a year later when he spoke better English. He told me how what I shared about Christ in tongues changed his life. He then shared how he got full of the Holy Spirit and also speaks in tongues. We laughed together with joy. My friends used to go up to the exchange students in college and speak in tongues. They always came back with stories about speaking in other languages, sharing the gospel in French one day or Italian and German the next. The exchange students always cried and repented, falling to their knees and repenting of their sins. I think there are so many people in the church that dismiss tongues that it is a gift that is kept hidden in the body of Christ because of the persecution of the religious.
Years ago I was baptised in the Maple Chapel Church in Glendale Ca. we had a baptismal tank and after coming out of the water I had a couple of our Church men pray with me as I told them I want the gift of talking to the Lord in a new Hevin language. and I asked the Holy Spirit give me the gift of talking to the Lord as they laid hands on me I felt in my belly like living water then my tongue started moving and I had control I could stop if I wanted but the love of the Lord moved over me , I am now 87 and the Lord loves me
I spoke in tongues once and didn't know what I was saying and didn't know if it was doing it correctly as, it was my first time! I felt I sounded crazy but I was so desperate for my prayers to be answered I tried it. My husband was in ICU at the time and after speaking in tongues God began to heal him and eventually he was moved from the ICU unit to a regular floor. Eventually, he was healed completely and is now home thriving and doing well! Thank you Jesus!
Why haven’t you kept speaking tongues? Using your prayer language soothes your soul, allows you to impact your life in miraculous ways and allows you to praise your God in a profound way. It should be like Paul says, I speak in tongues more than anyone. Praise God - its daily for me.

I recieved the gift while worshipping one morning. And my grandson recieved the gift this last Sunday, while worshipping in church with me and his grandpa.
I was not walking the Lord for 37 years, and during that time I kept periodically speak a few words I tounges, I fully believe it's what bought me back to him 2 years ago.. I asked him for interpretation and he showed me!! I kept saying please Lord do not forsake me! Now I have a whole new language, just amazing gift 🎉❤
I spoke in tongues for the first time today and it was an out of mind experience. then I went to have my shower and I had series of revelations which included forgiving and going back to make peace with people I have fought or dews I have owed whether I was at fault or not. I also discovered how I personally relate with God and this was before watching this video to seal everything in me. This is definitely a wonderful day

I wasn’t raised in a church home. I didn’t believe that people were swept by the spirit or spoke in tongues. I felt it was fake. This was during the Jesus movement in 1978. I began going to church and a prayer group. I was learning and felt ready to accept the Lord, but believed ALL the sweeping of the spirit on TV etc was fake. Large groups of people falling and speaking in tongues. The night I accepted Christ and was baptized in the Holy Spirit I remember the preacher reaching out to anoint my head in oil. I don’t remember him touching me. I don’t remember falling. The next thing I knew I was looking up at the painted church ceiling and speaking in tongues. I loudly (in my mind) heard God say “Some of it is fake, but never doubt my power!” I never have since. It is very real.
Yes! Even if some do fake it or have lost their anointing, it is still real and it is given by God. Very effective when used by God's true Faith filled people. The enemy tries to make us doubt it, but it's still real and we learn to get past the enemy. ❤
I got saved in 1982 I got prayed for to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit and it just didn’t happen. 3 days later kneeling by my bed I cried out to God and asked to be filled and then boom it felt like somebody poured refreshing water over my head and I began to speak in a new tongue. I’ve never stopped praying in tongues since. Sorry if you’re a cessationist you’re truly missing out 🫶🏾

In my twenties I went to a Pentecostal church and was baptised. They told me I should pray to receive the Holy Spirit with speaking in tongues as evidence. I went home that night and prayed and was hesitant until I felt the Lord near me telling me it is ok, I’m with you and I started to speak in tongues. Praise the Lord!
Received the gift of tongues with my best friend when we were in the 4th grade. We were both at a praise and worship for youth in a church basement and received. We are still best friends and now 40 and continue to pray in the Spirit to this day.

Thank you for this teaching. I am an 80 year old woman of God. At 28 the Lord gave me this beautiful gift. I have used this gift for worship and for battle. Praying for family members things I didn’t know. When I’m in church and worship is filled with the Lord I can’t stop it. Fortunately it’s loud worship so no one hears me. Very few of my friends have this gift and those who have it don’t use it. I say use it you will be blessed

However, one day while I was engrossed in reading the Bible at home, I began praying and suddenly, I experienced the overwhelming presence of the Holy Spirit. Without pause, I found myself speaking in tongues, overcome with a mixture of loud cries and tears. Although it felt like an extended period, it was merely a duration of 10 minutes. I was utterly drained and depleted of energy when it was over. My hope and prayer is that you, too, will encounter the holy Spirit and have the privilege of speaking in tongues. I’ve heard a few pastors say that speaking in tongues is of the devil because the gifts of the Holy Spirit stopped with the death of the Apostles. It’s really sad for a few reasons. But mostly because of when Jesus was accused of casting out demons by the power of beelzebub, he spoke about the sin of giving the devil credit for a work of God & called it blasphemy of the holy Spirit & said it will not be forgiven.
Speaking in tongues is our prayer language. God knows what we're saying when we pray in tongues. Holy Spirit fill everyone with your presence with the evidence of speaking in tongues. I remember when I experienced Him.... beautiful overwhelming life changing!❤🙏
Thank you John! It's because of your teachings/books that I pray in tongues and learned the Holy Spirit is a Person. This changed my life during high school and helped me grow in intimacy with Him. It's so important and helped me in the the warfare I went through.
I would encourage a Gen 1 to Rev 22 study on the Spirit of God - most of the authors of the canon do not see the Spirit of God as a person - probably none of them actually do.... There are some significant questions you ask to see this...
This is one of the very best teachings on tongues I've heard. My experience in receiving the gift of Holy Spirit with tongues revolutionized my life in 1979 and continues to lead me knowledge and understanding from the Father.
There is a great old book my Mahesh Chavda called the Hidden Power of Speaking in Tongues. I read this book, repented of my sins, forgave some people and received my Prayer Language and spoke in tongues. How soothing, how anointed, what a blessing to your parched soul is being able to connect in this profound way with your creator.
All of a sudden, I started speaking in tongues. I truly didn’t understand what I was doing, but the more I studied God’s word the more I realized he gave me this gift to pray to him.
Think about it - prayer is a two-way communication. If you do not understand what you are doing or saying - it is no longer a prayer, but an expression of emotion. Read and gather knowledge from the Bible and then compare everything you read, see and hear with God's word. If it does not agree - with what you have experienced or experience as truth - then refrain from it and follow God's word. Read Psalm 119.
@@keitholsson3228 The Bible tells us to pray in tongues. The Bible does not tell us to refrain. Our Spirit knows what we say and so does the Holy Spirit and so do the Angels. It is not about an emotional experience but it is emotional being touched by the Lord God almighty. It should be. How many woudl jump up and down and dance in Church if they found out they won the lottery? How much more Joy should we feel for Jesus. When we gather and sing in his name he sings back over us and is among us. We feel his presence and are humbled. Our words of praise are no longer good enough to express our love for the Lord so we pray in tongues. It is not for us. It is for the Lord.

At the same time, I discover that there is a lot of misunderstanding regarding 1 Cor 14. 1) The church in Corinth was filled with internal conflicts - it was divided, worldly and showed signs of purely ungodly manifestations. The ancient city of Corinth - which was famous for its two international ports - contributed greatly to the Church having members and visitors of widely different nationalities, languages and cultures. During the gatherings, people could pray and speak in one another's mouths, also in languages foreign to those present - which naturally caused both confusion and disorder. 2) It is important to understand that the word tongues is an obsolete word for language originally from the Greek; glòssa. 3) It is true that the Bible tells us to pray in an existing language. If we don't do that, neither we ourselves nor others will understand what we are praying for. Language is, after all, a human system for communication that we received from God. 4) You mention "our spirit". If we look at 1Cor 14:2, Paul writes: "For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.” The word spirit is a translation from Hebrew 'ruach' in the OT and Greek 'pneuma' in the NT and actually means - breath, air or wind. Spirit is also used to describe characteristics such as personality, thinking ability and consciousness. In other words: "the one who speaks a foreign language [ex. English] which no one present can understand[except the speaker] does not speak to people[in ex. an Arabic-speaking congregation] but to God. After all, no one understands what he says [except God who created all the known languages that exist in the world] because he speaks in a language foreign to them.” 5) You write: “Our words of praise are no longer good enough to express our love for the Lord so we pray in tongues. It's not for us. It is for the Lord.” Isn't prayer a two-way communication between two intelligent beings? God has created us with feelings but also with an intellect. Although I believe that all who practice nonsense language are sincere, one should ask if it is not a little like insulting God as creator by speaking in an incomprehensible way before an Almighty God who rules the universe and has created us in his image ? We best express our love for God by obeying God - that is, by sticking to his word and law. John 14:21,24 🙂
Hi, I don't pray in tongues due to the bad experiences I have had due to speaking in tongues. The first time I did it in the days following I became ill mentally. So at that time I stopped. And it took a long time to recover from that. I came out of that experience and moved in. And said I don't want to go back there. Then as I grew in the Lord and didn't speak in tongues. A preacher came to our church and spoke about speaking in tongues. I talked to the preacher about it and so prayed for me. So I went home speaking in tongues again. Then bad things in following days started happening again. I journal to the Lord and he said I'm not going to loose my salvation or won't stop me from being with him. So I have decided that GOD will still care for me even if I don't speak in tongues. Thanks for a listening ear.
Hi Marylin, This phenomenon you are experiencing is called retaliation. It is a common ploy of the enemy. I have experienced it as have many other believers. The Bible tells us that there is a spiritual realm and that realm existed first and is eternal whereas the physical realm is temporal. (2 Cor 4:12) the Bible also tells us that we are at war with an unseen enemy. (Enemies that exist in the spiritual realm) Ephesians 6 from vs 10-20 describes this war. Praying in tongues seems foolish to many when considered in the physical realm but it has great power and effect in the spiritual realm. So, yes, God still loves you and you will be with Him regardless of whether you use your prayer language but I would put it to you that praying in tongues is exposing a problem that is already there and that problem needs to be addressed so you can walk in freedom. It sounds like you need help. I pray God will connect you with believers who have wisdom and operate in the gifts of the Spirit. So that the root of the problem can be exposed and dealt with. Supercrea8ive is correct. Similar happened to my catholic friend who finally opened up and desired to get to know God the way I talk about Him. After two weeks I asked her if she still reads her bible to which she said 'no, because every time I do, bad things are happening'. I had to explain her the devil's strategies as she was becoming too superstitious by all of this. Satan only comes to steal, kill and destroy. Do not listen to him.
This same thing happened to me. While praying in tongues I also had it weird where I was yelling in tongues, making clicking sounds (like an African language) etc. I went into psychosis and starting hearing voices. I still hear voices to this day and any time I do speak in tongues I deal with it very intensely. I thought I was possessed but through learning the truth in scripture I know a believer cannot be possessed. I’m 100 percent a born again believer and to this day do not understand what I experienced. I do not know if it is from God or not. I prayed to God asking for wisdom and answers and God spoke to me through my husband telling me to just focus on regular prayer, Bible reading and not to worry about tongues. I pray one day God gives me answers.
@@JesusLovesnLives If a spirit is bothered when you pray in your prayer language, you can tell it to go in Jesus' Name and not come back. Keep playing detective with God. He'll help free you from anything that is not the fruit of the Spirit. Demons hate the prayer language and they will try to assault your mind and life but we have the mind of Christ and renew it daily. A battle God helps us win daily. Not easy many times but God makes a successful way.

As a Spirit filled tongues praying Christian, my observation is that it is the same prayer language but used in different ways. The original tongues is given as you receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. That same language is used in a word to the church if given and if sung in the Spirit. always the same language used in private prayer time.

This cleared up so many things for me! I have been speaking in tongues for over 40 years. Unfortunately, I have been married to a spouse who not only doesn't believe in tongues, they are violently opposed to it. Lately, I have listened to some teaching on the internet that made me start doubting. This is wonderful teaching that has brought me back to the Bible using clear cut explanations from scripture.
You should listen to your spouse. They know what they are talking about and you would draw closer to Christ in the abandoning of folly and drawing near to your spouse. All the better you listen to Christ that would give you thought for doubt on pentecostal teachings, a very new and not historical Christian school. If you where born in 1750 or 1500 or 723, rest assured you'd never hold to these conclusions, they simple did not exist among the entire collection of all Christians until the late 19th in the United States. Not even your family, even if all where Christians and you met them in the year 1800 would have any idea what you where talking about and would reject this 'new' folly. I could go on but this new teaching isn't historically Christian and the video here, though kind in nature, is not accurate to any level of historical view to all of Christianity. He must admit his conclusions are entirely foreign near all Christians of all time.
Continue to speak in tongues, don’t let anyone discourage you. Go and find all the scriptures in the bible about speaking in tongues and ask God to give you understanding.

I was baptized with the Holy Spirit a year and a half ago. i would pray in it here & there. Then went through multiple seasons of backsliding to the point where I stopped doing it entirely, didn’t even think of it… In the past few months I’ve been making it right with God and thinking about tongues a lot. I feel this hesitation to pray in them sometimes because there’s this nagging skepticism that it’s not of God. I just feel so confused about what it is and why we do it… But your teaching and your testimony, and the one about the sorority girl is deeply encouraging and clarifying. Thank you for sharing 🙏.
Your experience is so common. When we walk away from the Lord our desire and inclination to pray in general and of course in tongues, diminishes. But get close, desire nothing but Him and you will begin speaking in tongues. Just don't stress about it so much or focus on the gift. Focus on the giver. Remember it is a work of grace. "Draw near to God..(James 4:8)
When ‘confusion’ is in the mix, that should be a tip off as to what spirit is trying to draw you away from the things of God. I asked God to confirm this was from Him. He did. I never doubted it again.
I live in Romania, so on earth, I don't have a heart of stone, I really have an ok life without vices, not at all, a mother on her head with ;;diapers;; in bed, a relationship that lasts for 20 years, 2 jobs and a puppy that I rescued from the field in the winter, and she was as big as a ... palm. But, I admit, this with false teachings;; ;;the miraculous gifts;; or ;;speaking in tongues;; they are enormous, some scum.. when I see people rolling on the floor when they receive the holy spirit or when they say hallucinatory words; my jaws are breaking from laughing
God gave me the gift of speaking in tongues after my exhusband abandoned our family and I ended up at a Pentecostal church. What a gift that no one can take away from me!!!! Thank you Lord.
I just prayed in tongues for the first time and it was incredible. It literally felt like i was speaking 2-3 languages at the same time when i was finished tears down my face and sweating from the heat of the Lord. OMG the spirit of the lord just englufed me, I 😅may become addicted to praying guys.
I spoke to my Papa in tongues when the airplane was turbulence. I was frightened and spoke to my Papa in tongues quietly. He calmed the plane and of course calmed me as well. It is powerful and I have no idea what I am saying but my Papa does. I don’t pray enough because when I start praying in tongues in my closet , I don’t want to stop. 😀. Beautiful experience.
Thank you for this teaching. It is the first time I’ve heard it explained. All I ever knew was that I was given the gift when I got born again and filled with joy despite so many Christian’s have told me tongues passed or is of the devil. It brought so much confusion in. A friend told us that his church preached tongues from devil. He asked me what I believed. I told him that the Bible is true. I told him to read all the scriptures about tongues and fast with prayer about it. He came back and said he believed what the Bible said rather than his church. He asked to pray with me. I asked to pray in tongues for him because I had no idea on how to pray for him. After praying and unusual silence, I opened my eyes. His mouth hung open. His eyes were as wide as saucers. He then tried to speak to me in another language. I kept telling him that I didn't understand. He later switched to English. He said how can you not understand you just spoke to me in my language from when I was a child. He explained that he grew up in South America. I had no idea of that. He was so excited that I don't know what the Hily Spirit said to him but his doubt was gone. He was changed after that. It was a huge turning point he said.
I am learning to stay away from people or spirits who deny the Power of God. I can pray for them. But usually their minds are made up and it's a waste of time to engage with them.

Our submission is to the word of God as John says and not this theologian and that Dr so an so, yet he himself is also saying things himself that are not necessarily biblical, like ‘tongues are a powerful tool from God and the devil is doing everything to stop it’. How? Where do we learn from the Bible that the devil cannot hear our tongues?

I received this wonderful experience of the baptism in the Holy Spirit in North Louisiana in 1947, evidenced by speaking in tongues I was only seven years old. I can testify what Brother Bevere is teaching is TRUTH. Let the wise hear and believe it.
I was baptized in the Holy Spirit when I was 17 years old. I didn't even ask for it, it just happened. I was a catholic since birth because of my family ( they were catholics but rarely went to church) I really started learning about the Lord when I started going to a pentecostal/evangelical church. I was so in love with God, the word, I loved singing since I was a little girl and being able to sing now for the Lord gave singing a whole new meaning for me. I was at church one day and a pastor that visited us was praying for me, his wife was also praying, and I remember I was crying, I had my hands up, and all of a sudden I started speaking in tongues, my whole body trembled, my arms where moving like if they were eagle wings, it was so powerful! After that, I kept speaking in tongues when I prayed, and my pastor told me it was a gift from God. I would also sometimes pray in tongues at church and right afterwards interpret what I just had said but in my native language for all the church to understand ( if the message was for the church) But mostly, I experience praying in tongues when I'm deeply praying, especially when I'm hurting, and I can't even find the words to say because I'm so sad or hurting that I just cry, I start speaking tongues instantly in those situations. I don't always receive interpretation, but if I do, it's because the message is for me, the Lord speaks to me as well in this way. The interpretation just flows out of my mouth, without me thinking what I should say, or what I want to say, it just flows out the same way I speak in tongues. It's so beautiful. And I am grateful God gave me this gift, it has strengthened my faith and proved to me that this is real, God is Real. I'm actually going through some hard times right now and it's hard to believe and have faith when everything seems going so wrong in my life😭 But I pray and I know that HE is real, even if I'm still waiting and have been for years for him to answer my prayer, I have too many proof in my life that HE is Real and this gift is one of them.

I believed the Word and i was filled with the Holy Spirit speaking in an unknown tongue. Every time i do, i feel refreshed and i feel the deep love of the Lord. Never known or felt this kind of love in my life.

Singing in the Spirit helps my mind not to wander, sometimes it just flows in unknown sounds other times it will be a Traditional Christian song, very peaceful and spiritual restoring

I started to stop myself to redirect, then thought maybe you could sing in tongues instead, and since speaking takes a ton of energy for me, maybe God was starting me with singing in tongues. (Especially since I was randomly emotional in response to doing so.) I had to Google afterwards to see if that was really a thing (1 Corinthians 14:15), so I greatly appreciate your comment! Singing in tongues isn't something I hear talked about, but since it happened in response to a prayer and was confirmed in scripture, I now realize it's something I've done occasionally for a few years.😊🙏🏼
It's a very strong gift that I don't know if I have, sometimes it doesn't sound right. But I do have regular Tongues, I've heard others sing in Tongues and felt the Spirit move them. I feel layers of resistance falling away and I think it's just that I need trust and patience. Which is what I accept.
This is a good teaching. I decided to get baptized again about 5 years ago. About 4 years ago I was praying for the gift of tongues and had been doing so fer several month. I told an elder in the church I was going to at the time about this desire. One day a few weeks later, he stood up to give testimony about something and part way through this testimony, he turned and pointed across the church to me and said, "And Michael, you are going to start saying hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah and you will start praying in tongues. Several days later on a Saturday, I thought about this and I asked God to fulfill this prophecy. I started saying hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah and stumbled over my tongue a couple of times. I stopped and thought, "Was this it? Did I pray in tongues or did I just stutter?" The following Wednesday morning, I tired it again. This time I broke out praying in tongues at 1:05 AM and I prayed in tongues for almost 3 hours without ceasing. Sometimes I was overcome with great feeling of joy. Other times it was sadness and still other times it was anger. One thing I noticed was how different the language was when I was feeling so angry that I was shaking my fists violently. I learned later that this is referred to as warfare tongues. Having studied several languages, I could tell where one sentence began and ended. I could tell the different words in the sentence. I do not know what they mean, but I can recognize a language when I hear one. It does take faith to know that God will give you tongues. The testimony from the elder, naturally, reinforced my faith which I believe is why I was able to speak in tongues so soon after he told me that when I had been praying for it for about 4 months up until then. Believe in the scripture and you will see the truth in God's word. Don't let the devil steal from you this intimate time with our Father in Heaven. He is our Poppa. Spend time with Him.
Yes, I began asking about it at my new church and others told me their experiences and one prayed for me. Very soon a visiting minister came and spoke on the fire of the Holy Spirit, then said there are people who don't have Tongues yet, come here if you want it. I kept travailing, crying in the Spirit and wondering why He wanted this, but it felt as the Spirit usually did. Soon I was speaking it out.

Derek Prince attended a Sunday service in England, and the pastor spoke in tongue very briefly at the end of benediction. No one paid attention except one guy who came to church just to please his wife. Anyway, the guy became a believer instantly after hearing the unknown tongue which was an indigenous slang at a rural area in Pakistan where the guy once had a military service. “I AM COMING SOON.” Let’s prepare for His coming! I am SO very grateful that God gave me my prayer language. I don't know that I could have made it through some things without it. Even though I was given this back in 1982, I am still amazed to hear it come out of my mouth. It is a very tangible gift that I am grateful for every time I pray that way.

This is so good! I'm so blown away by the revelation that when I speak in tongues I rise up to God's level and speak His language! I love it. I started engaging this strategy only because I thought to myself that I have prayed with all the words I could for a long time but no change seemed to be in sight. So I started praying in tongues as a form of surrender so that I pray God's will. And this has given me so much perspective!
Speaking in tongues was given to me as a young woman who'd never been in church or cracked a Bible to understand what it was. I had to trust the Father as i was compelled to pray in tongues, and then had to spend years learning through insecurity about this gift i was given. I was judged harshly by cessationists and it was hard on my heart as a young believer

I want to be filled with the Holy Spirit. I attend church, in ministry, and find myself distant from where Jesus is. I know that He won't leave me or forsake me, so keep praying for me.
Leave the trappings of ‘religious activity’ out of your request of the Lord. This is about intimacy first. Where are you with the Lord when no one is watching?
God only asks that you are obedient to Him. It sounds like you are. Believers who strive for some 'experience' are often disappointed and become embittered. Dont go down that road.

I speak in tongues when I play Christian music I focus on the words and praising the Lord and slut whatever comes out at my mouth flow … I realize it was hard for me being so analytical to speak in tongues and then the Holy Spirit taught me this! 🕊
I started to pray for receiving tongue about a month ago. And I fasted for one day for this and I come across to this video in next day. In that night, I had some headach and I could not sleep. So I decided to pray and to continue asking God to receive the tongue. Miraculously, I received it in that night around 2pm and I was so overjoyed and cried so hard because of my joy. I was saved October 29, 1983, and filled with the Holy Spirit in February 1984. As I was prayed for, I stood there, mouth closed, just waiting for tongues to flow. My pastor said in faith, I had to start with one syllable. God wouldn't force the words out of me.
Speaking in tongues came to me as a young man, and I had no idea what it was, other than it was uplifting. Eventually I learned what it was, and thank the Lord that his Spirit still operates today as he wills.
Ditto. Never heard it before I started. I was in fervent prayer and it just came out! Sometimes in very intense prayer, it would just start and I had no control over it. There are times that my wife would tell me that I would speak in tongues while in my sleep and I never remembered doing it... and she does not speak in tongues.
My husband was working in a family run greek restaurant. They had just hired a man newly arrived from Greece. They often spoke to each other in Greek: one day they were making fun of my husband, pointing and laughing and speaking in Greek. He turned and pointed back at them and spoke, but not in English, he was speaking fluent Greek... their jaws dropped and they got angry...they yelled at him in English now.. they assumed he had heard all their conversations and evidently the new hire was in the states illegally... he had never studied greek and had no idea what they had been saying. But what he said to them put them under conviction.

When I am on strong attack with witches, wizard, satanist, astro projection, prayed in tongue and it scared the dark forces and demons are in fear. I feel better and healed when I pray in tongue. Speaking in tongue is powerful in the spirit war and healing.

People think this gift is a joke. They have no idea the power. I received the gift(1988) of Tongues from a Native American Apostle deep in the heart of New Mexico. The air was thick with anticipation as the congregation gathered under the open sky for the outdoor service. In their tradition, they lit some incense to start. About midway into the service the Apostle singled me out and asked me to come forward with a word for the group. I was mortified. He had a gaze that pierced through my soul, I couldn’t look away! I said nothing. I just wanted to go back among the congregation. He told me I could speak with no fear or judgment. I froze and waited for something to happen. He asked me to extend my tongue, and with reluctance I did, he gently rubbed a peeled pepper across it. The fiery heat seared through me, and I gasped as he said words not in English, then he shouts out, “Great Spirit, enter this mouth!” At that moment, an electric surge shot through my body, and I fell to the ground unable to move. My tongue took on a life of its own, speaking in a language I could only describe as otherworldly. The words flowed like a river, for three days and nights. I stayed at someone’s house in basically a trance, my mouth a vessel pouring out this incredible language that sounded like a babbling brook. It was both terrifying and exhilaratingly peaceful. When I finally learned to control this new power, I felt a burning desire to share it. Needing some items, I headed to the local convenience store, but I couldn’t enter, I turned and standing defiantly at the entrance I FELT the power! As I began preaching in Tongues, the sound echoed like a symphony in my ears. People stopped in their tracks, eyes wide with shock and curiosity. They gathered around, their disbelief giving way to awe as I recounted my extraordinary experience in English. People left with their hearts touched, their minds reeling, and blessed by the encounter. I never made it into the store! Years later, I found out the elderly Apostle who gave this gift to me took an even more shocking turn. One night during a small prayer service, witnesses claimed to have seen him taken up to heaven on a crimson horse, his spirit literally in a blaze fire, leaving behind a trail of light. The story spread like wildfire, cementing his place as an Apostle. In the years since, I have developed the gift, even learning to text in Tongues, transcending the boundaries of traditional communication. This sacred gift, I have come to believe, is the church’s most powerful weapon against the forces of darkness, a divine gift meant to unify and uplift humanity. My journey with the gift of Tongues continues to be a testament to the miraculous and the unexplained, a bridge between the mortal and the divine. I even feel it rising up right now! Shindola-high! Friend, I believe you are under a spirit that is not of the Holy Spirit. The Pentecostal church embraces kundalini which is considered to be a feminine energy known as “serpent power,” if you examine many occult and pagan practices particularly from Hinduism, there is virtually no distinction between what the New Apostolic Reformation and these cults are doing. You need to run away from these spirits that you are allowing yourself to be influenced by as Paul himself wrote in these latter days, “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;” (1 Timothy 4:1) This tongue speaking movement is not of the Holy Spirit, but an ancient practice that dates as far back as the 1700s in Germany and beyond known as glossolalia. The Biblical speaking of tongues is glossa and in its proper context, it is about speaking a language already known in the world, not gibberish. In addition, I researched your words to test the language and it is not of any authenticity as the only words that came out from what you said that could potentially be interpreted is about mushrooms and building finances. Please call out on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to save you from this delusion. Jesus said, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent (change of mind), and believe in the gospel.” - Mark 1:15 “Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you-unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,” - 1 Cor. 15:1-4 Be well and be safe and heed this warning, stay away from the NAR!
@@Son_of_Rest1495 I think the Great One leaves it up to us on how to experience Him. Look at all the comments. Everyone has different experiences yet they all are from the same religion. I think you may be afraid of this gift because you don’t understand it. Sometimes it comes out as a prayer language “mysteries in the spirit,” sometimes it is the “groanings,” sometimes it is angelic or spirit language you can’t understand, that’s why you need an interpretation. You can’t take the creator and put him in a box and control him. He gives as the spirit moves and gives us the ability to speak in tongues. It’s one of the mysteries we can’t fully understand. I have to get out of my mind and into the spirit or it is hindered and will not come from me. Is this not the gift that is given in His word? Shudula-mo-connu-tiah! Praise be!
@@wesl.946 No, Jesus Christ said that “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.” (John 4:23) God accepts worship the way He ordained it to be, not based on how we feel like it. “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6) Additionally, Paul himself said that if there were to be any who speak in tongues, an interpreter would be needed per 1 Cor. 14:28, “But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in church, and let him speak to himself and to God.” If you really believe you are speaking another tongue then keep this between you and God unless you have an interpreter. I understand that this theology is primarily based on one verse where Paul said, “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.” (1 Cor. 13:1) You get misunderstanding from developing your theology from one verse. Please, for your edification… examine the hermeneutics of this passage to understand that Paul was speaking in an exaggerated manner to demonstrate that these gifts don’t mean anything even if you had the highest level of them if you don’t have love then it is worthless. Also, invest in looking at the history of the early Church (Ante Nicene), because they would attest that the signs and wonders that were performed in the first century were descriptive not prescriptive. Again, the NAR is pushing an agenda based on poor theology I believe that is embracing a seduction from spirits that aren’t holy. Not to say that those who are part of the Pentecostal Church isn’t a believer, but that there are serious dangers involved. Be well…
Very good teaching...it's basically what my experience has been. I was a disciple of John MacArthur for the first 7or 8 years of my walk with the Lord. MacArthur is an opponent of the gifts so I'd been indoctrinated. But then by chance met a brother from Nacadoches TX. that encouraged me to fast and so I did several days a week. After several months my dads sister came from Alaska to Ohio and told me that she thought it was time for me to receive my prayer language. She prayed for me and I asked the Lord to give me whatever it was that would help me serve him. And He did! In this day and age with so many corrupt bible translations available it is quite possible to get the bible to say whatever you please it to say. This practice should not be mistaken for solid bible teaching however.

I had a similar experience of God giving a download of thoughts when I was unsure how and where to begin to prepare for a meeting at work and I kneeled and prayed first before sleeping. While i was praying, a rush of ideas/ thoughts came to mind one after one as if I was downloading ideas. Our Father is so good and cares so much about even the tiny details of our life. I remembered when i spoke in tongues, i just finish a summer class in understanding about who the Holy Ghost and His gifts were. We were praying at the end and i heard a language inside of me. I felt foolish and told myself it was my mind. I continued to pray and heard that language again, i said , no, i am not even worthy of it. My teacher who was Holy Ghost filled laid her hand on my stomach and everything, every language i heard inside of me came out her mouth, listen, i fell to the ground in shock, was that man, no all God, the one who gives gifts. Thank you for bringing this up. For years people will not talk of this because of the backlash but God wants us to let people know it is a necessity of having His Holy Spirit, we all need to seek for it because if you are walking in God's righteousness we also need to seek for the tongues. Evidence to others but also interceding for us when we are groaning with pain for us or others that the Holy Spirit will intercede the words we can't find talking to God. For years people have attacked that it's passed away, no never. In 1988 before my grandmother passed away I found out she received the Holy Spirit speaking in tongues in the late 1920-30's & my mother remembers hearing the same sound coming out of my mouth years later..... I died in a car accident in 1986 & had a life after death experience. I was told "I don't know you" which shocked me, "of course you know me Lord". I started waking 3 months later out of coma. I thought why have I come back & remembered God telling me I had to find Him, "but how, oh that's right God will lead me & guide me" it was a conversation I had with the Almighty. I had to learn to walk, talk, read, write, & so much more of general life. In 1988 I received God's Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. I asked God to lead me to the people where they do the same so I can fellowship & learn but show me how the church should be run so I don't get confused as still my mind was young & fresh from the accident. He showed me 1 Cor. 14 of 2-3 tongues with interpretation & 2-3 prophecies all would be inspired through God's Holy Spirit within that person at church at the time. in 1990 he did that & still fellowshipping there. My life has had many attacks but without His Holy Spirit I'd be either dead or lost. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you John... a lot of people are saying that praying in tongues is only the part of what happened on pentacost day. But in my spirit I knew it was all wrong but I could not pinpoint it until u made it clear.
Wow! The Lord sent me this video on the day I was desperate enough to open my heart to tongues. Because secret sins have gotten so bad with my husband, I gave up my suspicion of praying in tongues and watched this video that popped up. Then I decided, this is it, I am going to pray for this gift and believe that God will give it to me. I asked and then immediately opened my mouth and let the syllables spill out. They came so fast and urgently that I felt a little shocked. And then my whole body got hot like I was labouring in the Spirit and the words just kept flowing. At times I took rests and then willed myself to continue because it was like I was in warfare. The easy part was just letting the words flow. The language I spoke sounded so beautiful. I began to shake and weep and became aware that I was interceding with great earnestness. I was imploring someone’s case. I don’t know what I said. Now, I am writing my testimony with such joy and lightness of heart. While I battling in the groanings of the Spirit, God was actually ministering to me too. I cannot describe how refreshed I am right now. How clear my mind is, how clean my heart. I have only eaten a little food today and yesterday due to the distress I have been in but Gods energy has rejuvenated me so that I do not need sustenance. All I can think is how precious this gift is!! I can use it for the rest of my life! God is with me!!

This testifies so much to me. Fellowship with God opened up and I began studying the Word like crazy and I was radically changed. I struggled to receive it also because I had hang ups on it. I thought it was weird...but I began to study the Word, and I realized it was a gift. And who is me to walk away from any gift Godcis doling out 😂😂. I started after watching Derek Prince. Anyone I told about praying and singing in tongue has judged me. ASKING is crucial. It crazy to think about you have to ask, but he is more than willing to give all! I had no clue. And it has blessed me. Im not prefect, but he is bringing me to completion.

When I was a new Christian, I woke up and found myself praying in the spirit. I intuitively knew I was praying for someone. I was teaming up with the Lord bathing someone in the power of prayer. My mind did not know what I was saying, but my spirit did. i’ve been a Christian for a long time, and this was a rare occurrence. it seems I’m more incline to pray speaking my language. I sure would like to bypass that and get back in the groove of just being receptive to the Holy Spirit. Praying through me for others. so many different teachings on the subjective had suppressed me from doing so. Thank you for encouraging the body of Christ to enjoy the prayer language.
Tongues is real and a spiritual gift like many others. What I am against the idolatry of it by many Christians especially pentecostals. Speaking in tongues does not make you better than anyone else. People need to start understanding this.

When I was given a speech in tongues, it was miraculous. I heard this prayer in spirit when I was a partner in Fivefold ministries. One of them is Creflo Dollar as one of the partners aside from Kenneth Copeland, Jerry Savelle, Jesse Duplantis, Joyce Meyers, Billy Graham, and Benny Hinn, so I really wanted to have this heavenly language. It took me a while; the Pentecostal Church Pastors laid one hand on me. But I didn't receive it immediately; I prayed for this gift. In some ways, without realizing it. I received it while listening to Creflo Dollar while listening to his CD-Änointed to Have a Breakthrough" on November 27, 2011, at 6.24 PM in my Praying Room while finishing listening to my CD.

Myself and a friend had a 2 Chapter of Acts experience. We were sharing the Lord with a Muslim college student and he wanted to hear what tongues sounded like. When my friend started speaking in his tongue the Muslim man dropped to his knees crying out saying, you just spoke in the Aramaic language, your heaven, your heaven is calling me! He responded to the call by giving his life to Christ right then and there in the middle of the parking lot. PTL! This was a great teaching on tongues! Singing in the Spirit is also another manifestation that is so wonderful!

Based on philological analyses, he put forward the thesis that the difficult-to-understand passages in the quran - he estimates them at 20% of the text - must be read taking into account the influence of the Aramaic language at the time the quran was written.
I did once when I was praying for my sick baby son...I was in such pain and prayed so hard that I started to speak and pray in tongues. My spirit took over, and I prayed what I had no words for. My son survived a near death experience by the grace of God.

I remember my mother also prayed for me once when I was very sick, everything around me was white and I felt like going up on stairs, then I came back and I heard my mother praying in another tongue. I didn't know what praying in tongues was back then.

We have a wonderful story in our family. My great grandmother was a baptist. She was praying alone in her room when she started speaking in tongues. She was completely confused so she went to her pastor to ask him what it was. Instead of telling her not to pray in tongues (they didn’t believe in speaking in tongues): he encouraged her to go to a Pentecost church. And told her she will be more comfortable in that church.
Because of her choice to move churches, almost every member of our family speaks in tongues!
I thank God I come from such a wonderful Christian family.
Thank God that your pastor is not greedy and let your great grandma go where she can grow with the Lord. I pray that many church leaders will be like that. Praise God!

What language are you speaking and who is your interpreter?? Tongues are meant to be known languages. The purpose of tongues was for people of different languages to hear the Word. It's not meant to be gibberish that no one understands or can interpret
I received the feeling of the Holy Spirit when I didn’t even have any knowledge of what that was or meant. As I was raised Lutheran. I was so desperate for him. I was crying out to him one evening on my knees when all of a sudden, my hands flew up in the air, and I began to speak another tongue. I felt the filling of the Holy Spirit. My life has not been the same since.

I've never had the gift of tongues but I can definitely relate to hearing the Lord in the quietness.
After hurricane Ida, New Orleans lost power for 8 days and in that quiet time, when there were no vehicles driving around, no AC units running, no power lines buzzing, no engines of any sort whirring, no streetcars rumbling, it was _dead silent_ . Since there was no cellphone service or electricity to be had, all the distractions in my life were suddenly erased. I heard the voice of my Lord several times during that time period, very clearly. So, SO many undeniable 'God things' happened in those 8 days that it forever cemented my unconditional faith in Him.
I don't wish the terror of experiencing a hurricane on anyone but I do wish more people could bear witness to the awesome power of God in those quiet places! ❤ 🙏
You can obtain the gift of tongues! Petition the LORD with prayer for tongues the leed into your first attempt with the words " glory to God, Glory to God" faster and faster until you break out in a tongue. ❤

Later on as people at the church I was going to pressed the issue, (and I will say one woman in there was speaking in a tongue that was truly demonic!), I again asked the Lord about tongues.
When you pray and invite the Holy Spirit, make sure it is the " Holy Spirit of the Living God" ( no other spirit).
Because I did see a witch Dr ask the 'holy spirit' to come and it was a demon.
I was open and honest and willing to receive the gift of tongues if it was God's will.
I did not receive it, and I am totally fine with that

I remember waking up at night praying in tongues feeling a heavy weight on me and I knew I was interceding for someone. I wrote it in my journal. A week later a Pastor I knew closely who was like a father to me told the congregation he wanted to end his life by jumping off a building. He said the day and time he was going to take his life and I began to weep. God revealed to me I was praying for him that very same date and time. I went home and my journal confirmed the same date and time. Praying in tongues is so powerful and effective. 🙏

Personal anecdotes
I received the gift of tongues 12 years ago. I was in addiction and one night crying out to God. Broken!! My spirit started praying for me. It was so powerful! My grandmother prays in tongues as well as many of my other family members! A few weeks ago I had a tongue interpreter pray over me. His words from God were so powerful. He told me that when I was crying out to God that my words were heard the night before. I spent about thirty minutes crying out in tongues and this man had no clue what I was doing the night before but God let me know through him that he heard me he was with me and I’m not alone. ABBA in the name of Jesus I adore you. Thank you for supernatural healing thank you for being the lover of my soul. You are mighty. I don’t know how many people are reading this. Tongues are real. Our father is with us he left his Holy Spirit with us. He will protect his children and he fights for us!!!!

I live in Romania, so on earth, I don't have a heart of stone, I really have an ok life without vices, not at all, a mother on her head with ;;diapers;; in bed, a relationship that lasts for 20 years, 2 jobs and a puppy that I rescued from the field in the winter, and she was as big as a ... palm. But, I admit, this with false teachings;; ;;the miraculous gifts;; or ;;speaking in tongues;; they are enormous, some scum.. when I see people rolling on the floor when they receive the holy spirit or when they say hallucinatory words; my jaws are breaking from laughing
We need more signs and wonders. And magicians. More fire, more revival, more tongues and miracles. Forget about the Bible. Bible is only to justify of what we what. More fire!
I didn't want to pray in tongues, I thought that was beneath me. But God! I was on my knees in an apostolic church and my tongue came out of no where. No one heard me until I asked for prayer over a family concern and 3 pastors surrounded me. My tongues came out of no where, I threw my hand over my mouth in embarrassment. One of the pastors said God said my son will be saved. One month later he accepted Christ. It was all done by God. If God doesn't do it, it may not happen for a genuine Christian, but God still loves them; and loves them no less than a tongue talking Christian! The Holy Spirit is in us all! God's love, mercy and grace is bigger!

Yesterday at 7:10pm may 31st ,2024 I was baptized in the spirit filled with the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in tongues!!!! After I prayed the prayer with you pastor John and spoke in faith the Holy Ghost has his way with me as I continued to yield to him!!! Thank you again so much for all your teachings on this topic! I almost lost faith that I would be able to speak in tongues but you said yield to the Holy Ghost and don’t try to speak in English and in your heavenly language at the same time so I chose to speak in faith what I saw in the spirit and the tongues began to flow like a downstream river or waterfall !!! Here is a testimony. My wife's best friend was in the hospital with a brain aneurysm. I went apart and prayed in tongues until I felt the release. The aneurysm disappeared.

My pastor said that his dad needed a job during depression time. He fasted and prayed. He heard the Father say to apply at tailroad job. He got a job reading blueprints. He didnt know how to read them. He would praybinbtongues asking the Father tobgive him understanding of the blue prints. He immediately had understanding. I shared this with my young sons. When our dryer or cars broke, I encouraged them to work on them by praging in tongues and asking for understanding. They fixed everything. The holy spirit is our helper and teacher.

Many times our prayers focus only on things concerning this world, our own needs, fears, desires. But when we pray in the Spirit, the troubles of this world seem to melt away, our minds and hearts disconnecting, allowing our spirit to enter true communion with God.

I saw a man crying so hard. I asked him if I could pray for him. He started speaking to me in another language. I couldn't understand. I realized that he didn't speak my language so I said, you pray in your language and I will pray in mine. While I was praying on tongues with my eyes closed, I realized the man stopped crying and was silent. I kept praying in tongues. When I opened my eyes and looked at him, he excitedly, with big eyes, started talking in his language to me. I kept telling him that I didn't know what he was saying. Finally, he realized that I didn't know and said, "How can you not know. You spoke perfect Spanish". His English was so broken. But, he gave his life to Christ. I saw him a year later when he spoke better English. He told me how what I shared about Christ in tongues changed his life. He then shared how he got full of the Holy Spirit and also speaks in tongues. We laughed together with joy. My friends used to go up to the exchange students in college and speak in tongues. They always came back with stories about speaking in other languages, sharing the gospel in French one day or Italian and German the next. The exchange students always cried and repented, falling to their knees and repenting of their sins. I think there are so many people in the church that dismiss tongues that it is a gift that is kept hidden in the body of Christ because of the persecution of the religious.

Years ago I was baptised in the Maple Chapel Church in Glendale Ca. we had a baptismal tank and after coming out of the water I had a couple of our Church men pray with me as I told them I want the gift of talking to the Lord in a new Hevin language. and I asked the Holy Spirit give me the gift of talking to the Lord as they laid hands on me I felt in my belly like living water then my tongue started moving and I had control I could stop if I wanted but the love of the Lord moved over me , I am now 87 and the Lord loves me
I spoke in tongues once and didn't know what I was saying and didn't know if it was doing it correctly as, it was my first time! I felt I sounded crazy but I was so desperate for my prayers to be answered I tried it. My husband was in ICU at the time and after speaking in tongues God began to heal him and eventually he was moved from the ICU unit to a regular floor. Eventually, he was healed completely and is now home thriving and doing well! Thank you Jesus!
Why haven’t you kept speaking tongues? Using your prayer language soothes your soul, allows you to impact your life in miraculous ways and allows you to praise your God in a profound way. It should be like Paul says, I speak in tongues more than anyone. Praise God - its daily for me.

I spoke in tongues for the first time today and it was an out of mind experience. then I went to have my shower and I had series of revelations which included forgiving and going back to make peace with people I have fought or dews I have owed whether I was at fault or not. This message was a real blessing. When I pray with my 94 year old Dad, I get a strong desire to pray in the spirit. It’s awkward, but after hearing this, I’m excited to see where the Lord will lead.

I wasn’t raised in a church home. I didn’t believe that people were swept by the spirit or spoke in tongues. I felt it was fake. This was during the Jesus movement in 1978. I began going to church and a prayer group. I was learning and felt ready to accept the Lord, but believed ALL the sweeping of the spirit on TV etc was fake. Large groups of people falling and speaking in tongues. The night I accepted Christ and was baptized in the Holy Spirit I remember the preacher reaching out to anoint my head in oil. I don’t remember him touching me. I don’t remember falling. The next thing I knew I was looking up at the painted church ceiling and speaking in tongues. I loudly (in my mind) heard God say “Some of it is fake, but never doubt my power!” I never have since. It is very real.

I got saved in 1982 I got prayed for to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit and it just didn’t happen. 3 days later kneeling by my bed I cried out to God and asked to be filled and then boom it felt like somebody poured refreshing water over my head and I began to speak in a new tongue. I’ve never stopped praying in tongues since. Sorry if you’re a cessationist you’re truly missing out 🫶🏾
Paul said it must edify. Are you edifying someone or is this "spirit" you have just pleasing to you. The bible says Paul is our apostle and God gave him the way of salvation for us and the way to live. Study Paul's epistles to know the truth
In my twenties I went to a Pentecostal church and was baptised. They told me I should pray to receive the Holy Spirit with speaking in tongues as evidence. I went home that night and prayed and was hesitant until I felt the Lord near me telling me it is ok, I’m with you and I started to speak in tongues. Praise the Lord!
Received the gift of tongues with my best friend when we were in the 4th grade. We were both at a praise and worship for youth in a church basement and received. We are still best friends and now 40 and continue to pray in the Spirit to this day.

Thank you for this teaching. I am an 80 year old woman of God. At 28 the Lord gave me this beautiful gift. I have used this gift for worship and for battle. Praying for family members things I didn’t know. When I’m in church and worship is filled with the Lord I can’t stop it. Fortunately it’s loud worship so no one hears me. Very few of my friends have this gift and those who have it don’t use it. I say use it you will be blessed

❤🙏✝️ I observed individuals practicing this on television and in church. Initially, I believed they were simply fabricating it, and I couldn't relate to it. However, one day while I was engrossed in reading the Bible at home, I began praying and suddenly, I experienced the overwhelming presence of the Holy Spirit. Without pause, I found myself speaking in tongues, overcome with a mixture of loud cries and tears. Although it felt like an extended period, it was merely a duration of 10 minutes. I was utterly drained and depleted of energy when it was over. My hope and prayer is that you, too, will encounter the holy Spirit and have the privilege of speaking in tongues. I’ve heard a few pastors say that speaking in tongues is of the devil because the gifts of the Holy Spirit stopped with the death of the Apostles. It’s really sad for a few reasons. But mostly because of when Jesus was accused of casting out demons by the power of beelzebub, he spoke about the sin of giving the devil credit for a work of God & called it blasphemy of the holy Spirit & said it will not be forgiven.

Thank you John! It's because of your teachings/books that I pray in tongues and learned the Holy Spirit is a Person. This changed my life during high school and helped me grow in intimacy with Him. It's so important and helped me in the the warfare I went through.
I would encourage a Gen 1 to Rev 22 study on the Spirit of God - most of the authors of the canon do not see the Spirit of God as a person - probably none of them actually do....

This is one of the very best teachings on tongues I've heard. My experience in receiving the gift of Holy Spirit with tongues revolutionized my life in 1979 and continues to lead me knowledge and understanding from the Father.
There is a great old book my Mahesh Chavda called the Hidden Power of Speaking in Tongues. I read this book, repented of my sins, forgave some people and received my Prayer Language and spoke in tongues. How soothing, how anointed, what a blessing to your parched soul is being able to connect in this profound way with your creator.
All of a sudden, I started speaking in tongues. I truly didn’t understand what I was doing, but the more I studied God’s word the more I realized he gave me this gift to pray to him.
Think about it - prayer is a two-way communication. If you do not understand what you are doing or saying - it is no longer a prayer, but an expression of emotion. Read and gather knowledge from the Bible and then compare everything you read, see and hear with God's word. If it does not agree - with what you have experienced or experience as truth - then refrain from it and follow God's word. Read Psalm 119.
@@keitholsson3228 The Bible tells us to pray in tongues. The Bible does not tell us to refrain. Our Spirit knows what we say and so does the Holy Spirit and so do the Angels. It is not about an emotional experience but it is emotional being touched by the Lord God almighty. It should be. How many woudl jump up and down and dance in Church if they found out they won the lottery? How much more Joy should we feel for Jesus. When we gather and sing in his name he sings back over us and is among us. We feel his presence and are humbled. Our words of praise are no longer good enough to express our love for the Lord so we pray in tongues. It is not for us. It is for the Lord.
@@paulmerritt2484 I understand from your post that you are honest and sincere and love the Lord. At the same time, I discover that there is a lot of misunderstanding regarding 1 Cor 14.
1) The church in Corinth was filled with internal conflicts - it was divided, worldly and showed signs of purely ungodly manifestations. The ancient city of Corinth - which was famous for its two international ports - contributed greatly to the Church having members and visitors of widely different nationalities, languages and cultures. During the gatherings, people could pray and speak in one another's mouths, also in languages foreign to those present - which naturally caused both confusion and disorder.
2) It is important to understand that the word tongues is an obsolete word for language originally from the Greek; glòssa.
3) It is true that the Bible tells us to pray in an existing language. If we don't do that, neither we ourselves nor others will understand what we are praying for. Language is, after all, a human system for communication that we received from God.
4) You mention "our spirit". If we look at 1Cor 14:2, Paul writes: "For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.”
The word spirit is a translation from Hebrew 'ruach' in the OT and Greek 'pneuma' in the NT and actually means - breath, air or wind. Spirit is also used to describe characteristics such as personality, thinking ability and consciousness.
In other words: "the one who speaks a foreign language [ex. English] which no one present can understand[except the speaker] does not speak to people[in ex. an Arabic-speaking congregation] but to God. After all, no one understands what he says [except God who created all the known languages that exist in the world] because he speaks in a language foreign to them.”
5) You write: “Our words of praise are no longer good enough to express our love for the Lord so we pray in tongues. It's not for us. It is for the Lord.” Isn't prayer a two-way communication between two intelligent beings?
God has created us with feelings but also with an intellect. Although I believe that all who practice nonsense language are sincere, one should ask if it is not a little like insulting God as creator by speaking in an incomprehensible way before an Almighty God who rules the universe and has created us in his image ?
We best express our love for God by obeying God - that is, by sticking to his word and law. John 14:21,24 🙂

Hi, I don't pray in tongues due to the bad experiences I have had due to speaking in tongues. The first time I did it in the days following I became ill mentally. So at that time I stopped. And it took a long time to recover from that. I came out of that experience and moved in. And said I don't want to go back there. Then as I grew in the Lord and didn't speak in tongues. A preacher came to our church and spoke about speaking in tongues. I talked to the preacher about it and so prayed for me. So I went home speaking in tongues again. Then bad things in following days started happening again. I journal to the Lord and he said I'm not going to loose my salvation or won't stop me from being with him. So I have decided that GOD will still care for me even if I don't speak in tongues. Thanks for a listening ear.

This phenomenon you are experiencing is called retaliation. It is a common ploy of the enemy. I have experienced it as have many other believers. The Bible tells us that there is a spiritual realm and that realm existed first and is eternal whereas the physical realm is temporal. (2 Cor 4:12) the Bible also tells us that we are at war with an unseen enemy. (Enemies that exist in the spiritual realm) Ephesians 6 from vs 10-20 describes this war. Praying in tongues seems foolish to many when considered in the physical realm but it has great power and effect in the spiritual realm. So, yes, God still loves you and you will be with Him regardless of whether you use your prayer language but I would put it to you that praying in tongues is exposing a problem that is already there and that problem needs to be addressed so you can walk in freedom. It sounds like you need help. I pray God will connect you with believers who have wisdom and operate in the gifts of the Spirit. So that the root of the problem can be exposed and dealt with. Supercrea8ive is correct. Similar happened to my catholic friend who finally opened up and desired to get to know God the way I talk about Him. After two weeks I asked her if she still reads her bible to which she said 'no, because every time I do, bad things are happening'. I had to explain her the devil's strategies as she was becoming too superstitious by all of this.
Satan only comes to steal, kill and destroy. Do not listen to him.
This same thing happened to me. While praying in tongues I also had it weird where I was yelling in tongues, making clicking sounds (like an African language) etc. I went into psychosis and starting hearing voices. I still hear voices to this day and any time I do speak in tongues I deal with it very intensely. I thought I was possessed but through learning the truth in scripture I know a believer cannot be possessed. I’m 100 percent a born again believer and to this day do not understand what I experienced. I do not know if it is from God or not. I prayed to God asking for wisdom and answers and God spoke to me through my husband telling me to just focus on regular prayer, Bible reading and not to worry about tongues. I pray one day God gives me answers.

He'll help free you from anything that is not the fruit of the Spirit. Demons hate the prayer language and they will try to assault your mind and life but we have the mind of Christ and renew it daily. A battle God helps us win daily. Not easy many times but God makes a successful way.

As a Spirit filled tongues praying Christian, my observation is that it is the same prayer language but used in different ways. The original tongues is given as you receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. That same language is used in a word to the church if given and if sung in the Spirit. always the same language used in private prayer time.
Yes! I often want to be closer to God and have his power in my Life. If anyone wants to do this, God will help very much for us to have this and other gifts.
This cleared up so many things for me! I have been speaking in tongues for over 40 years. Unfortunately, I have been married to a spouse who not only doesn't believe in tongues, they are violently opposed to it. Lately, I have listened to some teaching on the internet that made me start doubting. This is wonderful teaching that has brought me back to the Bible using clear cut explanations from scripture.
You should listen to your spouse. They know what they are talking about and you would draw closer to Christ in the abandoning of folly and drawing near to your spouse.
All the better you listen to Christ that would give you thought for doubt on pentecostal teachings, a very new and not historical Christian school. If you where born in 1750 or 1500 or 723, rest assured you'd never hold to these conclusions, they simple did not exist among the entire collection of all Christians until the late 19th in the United States.
Not even your family, even if all where Christians and you met them in the year 1800 would have any idea what you where talking about and would reject this 'new' folly.
I could go on but this new teaching isn't historically Christian and the video here, though kind in nature, is not accurate to any level of historical view to all of Christianity. He must admit his conclusions are entirely foreign near all Christians of all time.
Continue to speak in tongues, don’t let anyone discourage you. Go and find all the scriptures in the bible about speaking in tongues and ask God to give you understanding.

I was baptized with the Holy Spirit a year and a half ago. i would pray in it here & there. Then went through multiple seasons of backsliding to the point where I stopped doing it entirely, didn’t even think of it… In the past few months I’ve been making it right with God and thinking about tongues a lot. I feel this hesitation to pray in them sometimes because there’s this nagging skepticism that it’s not of God. I just feel so confused about what it is and why we do it… But your teaching and your testimony, and the one about the sorority girl is deeply encouraging and clarifying. Thank you for sharing 🙏.
Your experience is so common. When we walk away from the Lord our desire and inclination to pray in general and of course in tongues, diminishes. But get close, desire nothing but Him and you will begin speaking in tongues. Just don't stress about it so much or focus on the gift. Focus on the giver. Remember it is a work of grace. "Draw near to God..(James 4:8)
When ‘confusion’ is in the mix, that should be a tip off as to what spirit is trying to draw you away from the things of God. I asked God to confirm this was from Him. He did. I never doubted it again.

I live in Romania, so on earth, I don't have a heart of stone, I really have an ok life without vices, not at all, a mother on her head with ;;diapers;; in bed, a relationship that lasts for 20 years, 2 jobs and a puppy that I rescued from the field in the winter, and she was as big as a ... palm. But, I admit, this with false teachings;; ;;the miraculous gifts;; or ;;speaking in tongues;; they are enormous, some scum.. when I see people rolling on the floor when they receive the holy spirit or when they say hallucinatory words; my jaws are breaking from laughing
God gave me the gift of speaking in tongues after my exhusband abandoned our family and I ended up at a Pentecostal church. What a gift that no one can take away from me!!!! Thank you Lord.
I just prayed in tongues for the first time and it was incredible. It literally felt like i was speaking 2-3 languages at the same time when i was finished tears down my face and sweating from the heat of the Lord. OMG the spirit of the lord just englufed me, I 😅may become addicted to praying guys.

I spoke to my Papa in tongues when the airplane was turbulence. I was frightened and spoke to my Papa in tongues quietly. He calmed the plane and of course calmed me as well. It is powerful and I have no idea what I am saying but my Papa does. I don’t pray enough because when I start praying in tongues in my closet , I don’t want to stop. 😀. Beautiful experience.

All I ever knew was that I was given the gift when I got born again and filled with joy despite so many Christian’s have told me tongues passed or is of the devil. It brought so much confusion in. A friend told us that his church preached tongues from devil. He asked me what I believed. I told him that the Bible is true. I told him to read all the scriptures about tongues and fast with prayer about it. He came back and said he believed what the Bible said rather than his church. He asked to pray with me. I asked to pray in tongues for him because I had no idea on how to pray for him. After praying and unusual silence, I opened my eyes. His mouth hung open. His eyes were as wide as saucers. He then tried to speak to me in another language. I kept telling him that I didn't understand. He later switched to English. He said how can you not understand you just spoke to me in my language from when I was a child. He explained that he grew up in South America. I had no idea of that. He was so excited that I don't know what the Hily Spirit said to him but his doubt was gone. He was changed after that. It was a huge turning point he said.

I received this wonderful experience of the baptism in the Holy Spirit in North Louisiana in 1947, evidenced by speaking in tongues I was only seven years old. I can testify what Brother Bevere is teaching is TRUTH. Let the wise hear and believe it.
I was baptized in the Holy Spirit when I was 17 years old. I didn't even ask for it, it just happened. I was a catholic since birth because of my family ( they were catholics but rarely went to church) I really started learning about the Lord when I started going to a pentecostal/evangelical church. I was so in love with God, the word, I loved singing since I was a little girl and being able to sing now for the Lord gave singing a whole new meaning for me. I was at church one day and a pastor that visited us was praying for me, his wife was also praying, and I remember I was crying, I had my hands up, and all of a sudden I started speaking in tongues, my whole body trembled, my arms where moving like if they were eagle wings, it was so powerful! After that, I kept speaking in tongues when I prayed, and my pastor told me it was a gift from God. I would also sometimes pray in tongues at church and right afterwards interpret what I just had said but in my native language for all the church to understand ( if the message was for the church) But mostly, I experience praying in tongues when I'm deeply praying, especially when I'm hurting, and I can't even find the words to say because I'm so sad or hurting that I just cry, I start speaking tongues instantly in those situations. I don't always receive interpretation, but if I do, it's because the message is for me, the Lord speaks to me as well in this way. The interpretation just flows out of my mouth, without me thinking what I should say, or what I want to say, it just flows out the same way I speak in tongues. It's so beautiful. And I am grateful God gave me this gift, it has strengthened my faith and proved to me that this is real, God is Real. I'm actually going through some hard times right now and it's hard to believe and have faith when everything seems going so wrong in my life😭 But I pray and I know that HE is real, even if I'm still waiting and have been for years for him to answer my prayer, I have too many proof in my life that HE is Real and this gift is one of them.

I started to stop myself to redirect, then thought maybe you could sing in tongues instead, and since speaking takes a ton of energy for me, maybe God was starting me with singing in tongues. (Especially since I was randomly emotional in response to doing so.) I had to Google afterwards to see if that was really a thing (1 Corinthians 14:15), so I greatly appreciate your comment! Singing in tongues isn't something I hear talked about, but since it happened in response to a prayer and was confirmed in scripture, I now realize it's something I've done occasionally for a few years.😊🙏🏼
It's a very strong gift that I don't know if I have, sometimes it doesn't sound right. But I do have regular Tongues, I've heard others sing in Tongues and felt the Spirit move them.
I feel layers of resistance falling away and I think it's just that I need trust and patience. Which is what I accept.
This is a good teaching. I decided to get baptized again about 5 years ago. About 4 years ago I was praying for the gift of tongues and had been doing so fer several month. I told an elder in the church I was going to at the time about this desire. One day a few weeks later, he stood up to give testimony about something and part way through this testimony, he turned and pointed across the church to me and said, "And Michael, you are going to start saying hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah and you will start praying in tongues.
Several days later on a Saturday, I thought about this and I asked God to fulfill this prophecy. I started saying hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah and stumbled over my tongue a couple of times. I stopped and thought, "Was this it? Did I pray in tongues or did I just stutter?" The following Wednesday morning, I tired it again. This time I broke out praying in tongues at 1:05 AM and I prayed in tongues for almost 3 hours without ceasing. Sometimes I was overcome with great feeling of joy. Other times it was sadness and still other times it was anger. One thing I noticed was how different the language was when I was feeling so angry that I was shaking my fists violently. I learned later that this is referred to as warfare tongues.
Having studied several languages, I could tell where one sentence began and ended. I could tell the different words in the sentence. I do not know what they mean, but I can recognize a language when I hear one. It does take faith to know that God will give you tongues. The testimony from the elder, naturally, reinforced my faith which I believe is why I was able to speak in tongues so soon after he told me that when I had been praying for it for about 4 months up until then. Believe in the scripture and you will see the truth in God's word. Don't let the devil steal from you this intimate time with our Father in Heaven. He is our Poppa. Spend time with Him.
Yes, I began asking about it at my new church and others told me their experiences and one prayed for me. Very soon a visiting minister came and spoke on the fire of the Holy Spirit, then said there are people who don't have Tongues yet, come here if you want it. I kept travailing, crying in the Spirit and wondering why He wanted this, but it felt as the Spirit usually did. Soon I was speaking it out.

Derek Prince attended a Sunday service in England, and the pastor spoke in tongue very briefly at the end of benediction. No one paid attention except one guy who came to church just to please his wife.
Anyway, the guy became a believer instantly after hearing the unknown tongue which was an indigenous slang at a rural area in Pakistan where the guy once had a military service.

I am SO very grateful that God gave me my prayer language. I don't know that I could have made it through some things without it. Even though I was given this back in 1982, I am still amazed to hear it come out of my mouth. It is a very tangible gift that I am grateful for every time I pray that way.

This is so good! I'm so blown away by the revelation that when I speak in tongues I rise up to God's level and speak His language! I love it. I started engaging this strategy only because I thought to myself that I have prayed with all the words I could for a long time but no change seemed to be in sight. So I started praying in tongues as a form of surrender so that I pray God's will. And this has given me so much perspective!

Speaking in tongues was given to me as a young woman who'd never been in church or cracked a Bible to understand what it was. I had to trust the Father as i was compelled to pray in tongues, and then had to spend years learning through insecurity about this gift i was given. I was judged harshly by cessationists and it was hard on my heart as a young believer

❤ It is a very good thing to have the gift of Tongues. And in my opinion a very good thing to stay away from cessationists and the close minded! I found that out when I felt sorry for them and tried to convince them. But they have the Bible so don't need me.
I personally have seen multiple moves of the power of God and each time privately and publicly tongues was preceding each event! Tongues is real And, is powerful!
Tongues is real and powerful! God certainly is not limited to an introduction of tongues before he moves, right? I started to pray for receiving tongue about a month ago. And I fasted for one day for this and I come across to this video in next day. In that night, I had some headach and I could not sleep. So I decided to pray and to continue asking God to receive the tongue. Miraculously, I received it in that night around 2pm and I was so overjoyed and cried so hard because of my joy. HE is awesome GOD. If you ask He will give it to you in the Name of Jesus Christ.

I was saved October 29, 1983, and filled with the Holy Spirit in February 1984. As I was prayed for, I stood there, mouth closed, just waiting for tongues to flow.
My pastor said in faith, I had to start with one syllable. God wouldn't force the words out of me.

Speaking in tongues came to me as a young man, and I had no idea what it was, other than it was uplifting. Eventually I learned what it was, and thank the Lord that his Spirit still operates today as he wills.
Ditto. Never heard it before I started. I was in fervent prayer and it just came out! Sometimes in very intense prayer, it would just start and I had no control over it.
There are times that my wife would tell me that I would speak in tongues while in my sleep and I never remembered doing it... and she does not speak in tongues.
My husband was working in a family run greek restaurant. They had just hired a man newly arrived from Greece. They often spoke to each other in Greek: one day they were making fun of my husband, pointing and laughing and speaking in Greek. He turned and pointed back at them and spoke, but not in English, he was speaking fluent Greek... their jaws dropped and they got angry...they yelled at him in English now.. they assumed he had heard all their conversations and evidently the new hire was in the states illegally... he had never studied greek and had no idea what they had been saying. But what he said to them put them under conviction.

I live in Romania, so on earth, I don't have a heart of stone, I really have an ok life without vices, not at all, a mother on her head with ;;diapers;; in bed, a relationship that lasts for 20 years, 2 jobs and a puppy that I rescued from the field in the winter, and she was as big as a ... palm. But, I admit, this with false teachings;; ;;the miraculous gifts;; or ;;speaking in tongues;; they are enormous, some scum.. when I see people rolling on the floor when they receive the holy spirit or when they say hallucinatory words; my jaws are breaking from laughing

When I am on strong attack with witches, wizard, satanist, astro projection, prayed in tongue and it scared the dark forces and demons are in fear. I feel better and healed when I pray in tongue. Speaking in tongue is powerful in the spirit war and healing.

I received the gift(1988) of Tongues from a Native American Apostle deep in the heart of New Mexico. The air was thick with anticipation as the congregation gathered under the open sky for the outdoor service. In their tradition, they lit some incense to start. About midway into the service the Apostle singled me out and asked me to come forward with a word for the group. I was mortified. He had a gaze that pierced through my soul, I couldn’t look away! I said nothing. I just wanted to go back among the congregation.
He told me I could speak with no fear or judgment. I froze and waited for something to happen. He asked me to extend my tongue, and with reluctance I did, he gently rubbed a peeled pepper across it. The fiery heat seared through me, and I gasped as he said words not in English, then he shouts out, “Great Spirit, enter this mouth!” At that moment, an electric surge shot through my body, and I fell to the ground unable to move. My tongue took on a life of its own, speaking in a language I could only describe as otherworldly. The words flowed like a river, for three days and nights. I stayed at someone’s house in basically a trance, my mouth a vessel pouring out this incredible language that sounded like a babbling brook. It was both terrifying and exhilaratingly peaceful.
When I finally learned to control this new power, I felt a burning desire to share it. Needing some items, I headed to the local convenience store, but I couldn’t enter, I turned and standing defiantly at the entrance I FELT the power! As I began preaching in Tongues, the sound echoed like a symphony in my ears. People stopped in their tracks, eyes wide with shock and curiosity. They gathered around, their disbelief giving way to awe as I recounted my extraordinary experience in English. People left with their hearts touched, their minds reeling, and blessed by the encounter. I never made it into the store!
Years later, I found out the elderly Apostle who gave this gift to me took an even more shocking turn. One night during a small prayer service, witnesses claimed to have seen him taken up to heaven on a crimson horse, his spirit literally in a blaze fire, leaving behind a trail of light. The story spread like wildfire, cementing his place as an Apostle.
In the years since, I have developed the gift, even learning to text in Tongues, transcending the boundaries of traditional communication. This sacred gift, I have come to believe, is the church’s most powerful weapon against the forces of darkness, a divine gift meant to unify and uplift humanity. My journey with the gift of Tongues continues to be a testament to the miraculous and the unexplained, a bridge between the mortal and the divine. I even feel it rising up right now!

Friend, I believe you are under a spirit that is not of the Holy Spirit. The Pentecostal church embraces kundalini which is considered to be a feminine energy known as “serpent power,” if you examine many occult and pagan practices particularly from Hinduism, there is virtually no distinction between what the New Apostolic Reformation and these cults are doing. You need to run away from these spirits that you are allowing yourself to be influenced by as Paul himself wrote in these latter days, “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;” (1 Timothy 4:1)
This tongue speaking movement is not of the Holy Spirit, but an ancient practice that dates as far back as the 1700s in Germany and beyond known as glossolalia. The Biblical speaking of tongues is glossa and in its proper context, it is about speaking a language already known in the world, not gibberish.
In addition, I researched your words to test the language and it is not of any authenticity as the only words that came out from what you said that could potentially be interpreted is about mushrooms and building finances. Please call out on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to save you from this delusion.

I think you may be afraid of this gift because you don’t understand it. Sometimes it comes out as a prayer language “mysteries in the spirit,” sometimes it is the “groanings,” sometimes it is angelic or spirit language you can’t understand, that’s why you need an interpretation. You can’t take the creator and put him in a box and control him. He gives as the spirit moves and gives us the ability to speak in tongues. It’s one of the mysteries we can’t fully understand. I have to get out of my mind and into the spirit or it is hindered and will not come from me. Is this not the gift that is given in His word? Shudula-mo-connu-tiah! Praise be!

God accepts worship the way He ordained it to be, not based on how we feel like it.
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6)
Additionally, Paul himself said that if there were to be any who speak in tongues, an interpreter would be needed per 1 Cor. 14:28, “But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in church, and let him speak to himself and to God.” If you really believe you are speaking another tongue then keep this between you and God unless you have an interpreter. I understand that this theology is primarily based on one verse where Paul said, “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.” (1 Cor. 13:1)
You get misunderstanding from developing your theology from one verse. Please, for your edification… examine the hermeneutics of this passage to understand that Paul was speaking in an exaggerated manner to demonstrate that these gifts don’t mean anything even if you had the highest level of them if you don’t have love then it is worthless.
Also, invest in looking at the history of the early Church (Ante Nicene), because they would attest that the signs and wonders that were performed in the first century were descriptive not prescriptive. Again, the NAR is pushing an agenda based on poor theology I believe that is embracing a seduction from spirits that aren’t holy. Not to say that those who are part of the Pentecostal Church isn’t a believer, but that there are serious dangers involved. Be well…

Very good teaching...it's basically what my experience has been. I was a disciple of John MacArthur for the first 7or 8 years of my walk with the Lord. MacArthur is an opponent of the gifts so I'd been indoctrinated. But then by chance met a brother from Nacadoches TX. that encouraged me to fast and so I did several days a week.
After several months my dads sister came from Alaska to Ohio and told me that she thought it was time for me to receive my prayer language. She prayed for me and I asked the Lord to give me whatever it was that would help me serve him. And He did! Rivers of living water flowed from my belly I had a gift given to me that I didn't even know existed!
That was in the fall of 1999...my life hasn't been the same since.
David Pawson has some good stuff too. Was very impressed with this teaching.
Emmanuel Iren of Celebration Church teaches the right doctrine on tongues too. He recently answered Allen Parr regarding his video critiquing tongues, you should check it out.
In this day and age with so many corrupt bible translations available it is quite possible to get the bible to say whatever you please it to say. This practice should not be mistaken for solid bible teaching however.
Spirit of offense book God used to set me free. It was like unblocking the flow of love and supernatural grace. My life has changed and that was 20 years ago. Freedom still in 2023/24.

I had a similar experience of God giving a download of thoughts when I was unsure how and where to begin to prepare for a meeting at work and I kneeled and prayed first before sleeping. While i was praying, a rush of ideas/ thoughts came to mind one after one as if I was downloading ideas. Our Father is so good and cares so much about even the tiny details of our life. That work meeting went great! Praise God! 🙌

I remembered when i spoke in tongues, i just finish a summer class in understanding about who the Holy Ghost and His gifts were. We were praying at the end and i heard a language inside of me. I felt foolish and told myself it was my mind. I continued to pray and heard that language again, i said , no, i am not even worthy of it. My teacher who was Holy Ghost filled laid her hand on my stomach and everything, every language i heard inside of me came out her mouth, listen, i fell to the ground in shock, was that man, no all God, the one who gives gifts. This gift is for all who believes. Interpretation of tongues is for those with that gift. Can i tell you. I do both, i only know English but with the Holy Spirit, i speak whatever languages he allows me to. Believe and youWill

Thank you for bringing this up. For years people will not talk of this because of the backlash but God wants us to let people know it is a necessity of having His Holy Spirit, we all need to seek for it because if you are walking in God's righteousness we also need to seek for the tongues. Evidence to others but also interceding for us when we are groaning with pain for us or others that the Holy Spirit will intercede the words we can't find talking to God. For years people have attacked that it's passed away, no never. In 1988 before my grandmother passed away I found out she received the Holy Spirit speaking in tongues in the late 1920-30's & my mother remembers hearing the same sound coming out of my mouth years later..... I died in a car accident in 1986 & had a life after death experience. I was told "I don't know you" which shocked me, "of course you know me Lord". I started waking 3 months later out of coma. I thought why have I come back & remembered God telling me I had to find Him, "but how, oh that's right God will lead me & guide me" it was a conversation I had with the Almighty. I had to learn to walk, talk, read, write, & so much more of general life. In 1988 I received God's Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. I asked God to lead me to the people where they do the same so I can fellowship & learn but show me how the church should be run so I don't get confused as still my mind was young & fresh from the accident. He showed me 1 Cor. 14 of 2-3 tongues with interpretation & 2-3 prophecies all would be inspired through God's Holy Spirit within that person at church at the time. in 1990 he did that & still fellowshipping there. My life has had many attacks but without His Holy Spirit I'd be either dead or lost. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you John... a lot of people are saying that praying in tongues is only the part of what happened on pentacost day. But in my spirit I knew it was all wrong but I could not pinpoint it until u made it clear.
Wow! The Lord sent me this video on the day I was desperate enough to open my heart to tongues. Because secret sins have gotten so bad with my husband, I gave up my suspicion of praying in tongues and watched this video that popped up. Then I decided, this is it, I am going to pray for this gift and believe that God will give it to me. I asked and then immediately opened my mouth and let the syllables spill out. They came so fast and urgently that I felt a little shocked. And then my whole body got hot like I was labouring in the Spirit and the words just kept flowing. At times I took rests and then willed myself to continue because it was like I was in warfare. The easy part was just letting the words flow. The language I spoke sounded so beautiful. I began to shake and weep and became aware that I was interceding with great earnestness. I was imploring someone’s case. I don’t know what I said.
Now, I am writing my testimony with such joy and lightness of heart. While I battling in the groanings of the Spirit, God was actually ministering to me too. I cannot describe how refreshed I am right now. How clear my mind is, how clean my heart. I have only eaten a little food today and yesterday due to the distress I have been in but Gods energy has rejuvenated me so that I do not need sustenance. All I can think is how precious this gift is!! I can use it for the rest of my life! God is with me!!

This testifies so much to me. Fellowship with God opened up and I began studying the Word like crazy and I was radically changed. I struggled to receive it also because I had hang ups on it. I thought it was weird...but I began to study the Word, and I realized it was a gift. And who is me to walk away from any gift Godcis doling out 😂😂. When I was a new Christian, I woke up and found myself praying in the spirit. I intuitively knew I was praying for someone. I was teaming up with the Lord bathing someone in the power of prayer. My mind did not know what I was saying, but my spirit did. i’ve been a Christian for a long time, and this was a rare occurrence. it seems I’m more incline to pray speaking my language. I sure would like to bypass that and get back in the groove of just being receptive to the Holy Spirit. Praying through me for others. so many different teachings on the subjective had suppressed me from doing so. Thank you for encouraging the body of Christ to enjoy the prayer language.
Tongues is real and a spiritual gift like many others. What I am against the idolatry of it by many Christians especially pentecostals. Speaking in tongues does not make you better than anyone else. People need to start understanding this.

When I was given a speech in tongues, it was miraculous. I heard this prayer in spirit when I was a partner in Fivefold ministries. One of them is Creflo Dollar as one of the partners aside from Kenneth Copeland, Jerry Savelle, Jesse Duplantis, Joyce Meyers, Billy Graham, and Benny Hinn, so I really wanted to have this heavenly language. It took me a while; the Pentecostal Church Pastors laid one hand on me. But I didn't receive it immediately; I prayed for this gift. In some ways, without realizing it. I received it while listening to Creflo Dollar while listening to his CD-Änointed to Have a Breakthrough" on November 27, 2011, at 6.24 PM in my Praying Room while finishing listening to my CD.
I'm not pentecostal or charismatic, but man, what a great explanation of tongues. I pray to experience this.
