“When believers aren’t reading the Bible, they are easily deceived, because their relationship with God is dealt within the realm of the feelings instead of in the realm of truth.”

    1. Business/Distractions
    - having your attention diverted
    - hobbies, cell phones, things, relationships, work
    2. Competing voices
    - make an appointment with God. Read your Bible or you will be easily deceived and misled because your relationship with god becomes more around the realm of your feelings instead of the realm of truth.
    - Even in your waiting phase be busy doing things.
    - Schedule your day!
    3. Unprepared heart
    - Keep your heart soft and fertile through
    - worship, reading Bible and reflecting
    - Prayer, reverential fear of the lord
    - “ For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also,” (Matthew 6:21). Before you give someone your heart, you must determine the condition of theirs.
    4. Not having your heart in a neutral position
Having Idols set up in your heart
Covetousness - a strong desire for something you believe is good for you.
Stubbornness- push back from what we know God has said in his word.
    - Giving your strength and love to something more than God
    - hold things above God in your heart
    - every time you ask God for something make sure your heart is neutral to accept the answer you receive
    5. Sin / disobedience

I have been struggling for weeks trying to finish projects and apply for things I realize I have been coveting, and that I never truly asked the Lord for with a neutral heart. I said I wanted to hear His voice and obey Him, but in this situation I think I made up what I wanted to hear and went with it saying well "the Lord cares about what I care about, so let me pray for what I care about", not leaving space for the Lord to tell me what He cared about most in that time. I was so foolish and stubborn. I am grateful that the Lord led me to this video and opened my eyes. Now, I understand that I have erred and I need to repent. Thank you Lord God for this revealation and the opportunity to repent. Thank you Lord for using your servant John to share this message, may he be highly blessed and favored for his obedience. May he experience even greater grace and mercy in his own struggles/missteps. Amen.

Man, this golf testimony is almost identical to mine. He told me I needed to kneel beside the bed every night and pray. And so I did, for many months. Months later I was seeking him waaaay more than just kneeling beside the bed to pray. So one day, I knelt to pray and he says "You don't need to do this anymore, I have your attention".

I feel that God “speaks” by answering my prayers for spiritual blessings (strength, healing, patience etc..) On the one occasion I heard a soft but firm voice that told me “just be yourself” when I was spiraling with depression and thinking I was not worthy. As if to say “don’t force yourself, you’re my child and I’ll always love you. And I’ll *always* be here.” 🥲

5 Barriers That Keep Us from Hearing God and solutions:
    1. Busyness (distractions) --> making time for God first
    2. Competing voices --> focus on God first
    3. Unprepared heart and being biased towards a path. --> having a neautral heart that is open to any path by worship, always rejoicing, reading God's word, prayer, fasting, having reverent fear of the Lord, fully forgiving others and yourself and being humble
    4. ldols set up in your heart. --> putting God first
    5. Sin/disobedience --> abide in faith, hope and most importantly God's love and grace to avoiding sin

A walk with God, and a relationship starts with looking for Him, and keeps straight through constant prayer and meditation with Him. Keeping in His word, and saying no to evil things. It is a straight path we find, and we are here to shine the light that is God's Word, and the Light of Christ more brightly on a day to day basis to those who seek and love Him.

UNBELIEVE (="God would not talk to me") is also a big big one.
[James 1:5-7] If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
He talks, but it is us, shutting our ears, when we don't trust him.

      @j_fbi7610 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Exactly. People think they need to hear an audible voice guiding them, and that couldn’t be more wrong. Voices in your head are manifestations of your thoughts. Thoughts that can be guided by what your brain believes to be true. If you want guidance when making important decisions it’s really simple.
      1. Read your Bible, because it holds the truth you need to live the way God wants you to.
      2. Pray that you would correctly interpret that truth.
      3. Make decisions joyfully within the freedom of that truth.

@@j_fbi7610 He can speak within your mind though and, from what I've seen, this is far more common than hearing an audible voice anyway. Can some of those cases be manifestations of thought? Yes but I do not think it is fair to always dismiss them as such. In my own life God has spoken to me within my mind twice, with about a 20 year gap in between that. And part of how I knew it was him speaking was not only what he said but that I could recognize that what I was hearing in my mind was not from me.

Wow I'm only halfway through this video and it's already speaking directly to me! Especially about the golf addiction! I'm in the middle of that now and told my family yesterday that I was going to put my clubs up for a little while. So of course I stumble on this video today. I read the Bible daily and watch sermons daily as well but am still addicted to distractions I realize. It's so bad that my friends that I have a group text with, renamed the group God and Golf to give me a hard time since that's all I ever talk to them about these days. I'm hoping the end of the video addresses this. What if you do have too many distractions in your life but still spend daily time with God? Since I have been saved 3 years ago, it seems like I'll do anything to not have to deal with this world. So I "think" I use the distractions to escape the world at times and not necessarily God. But my job and my family suffer I realize after typing this out and I don't want that to be the case anymore!

    • @patrickmba7638
      @patrickmba7638 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

That's an interesting situation. You make time for God but still admit to many distractions. Thinking about it, I might be in a somewhat similar boat myself . Not exactly ,but similar. I think coming up with a schedule might help. Especially as we are forced to face up to the importance or otherwise of what is going to be on the schedule.

We can use the scripture as a guide and a check to test if a voice is God's but God still tells us things about our everyday lives like the food we eat, the clothes to wear, the friends we keep, what we should say or do, who to marry, places to go to per time and all of those little personal issues we think He's not interested in.

All the people in church only offer to pray and as much as I’m grateful for them it’s not what Jesus did. that’s why so many are sick around us, but we can’t fight the system until the want to be enlightened. Anyone can hear God by reading and studying the the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. The Bible say to understand the end we have to go to the Beginning. Remember the beginning of the Bible is Genesis not Matthew. Then realized that the original writing of the Bible is Hebrew translated to every language. Sometimes the message can be lost in a translation. So to get better understanding of the Bible study it i it’s original writing Hebrew also.

State issued marriage license forming an unholy and ungodly union
    2. Religion - pagan Christianity that dishonors the name of Christ brings a curse
    3. Curse of more - stealing more from the cross. Our possessions condemn us. We say my fear, my depression, my addiction, my anxiety and many others prove we are cross robbers and thieves. We deny the cross
    4. Our possessions make us a god.
I could give more but I think I have a lost hated by everyone. I could have given you a nice list like this guy did.

    Hi John,
I’ve watched some of your videos and find them fascinating in the sense that you say God actually speaks to you. I understand God speaks to us through scripture and through situations but frankly I’ve never ever heard Him speak to me directly. Am I to conclude that I am just not spiritual enough or worthy to hearing Him?

with the example of praying for marriage, you mentioned you should be neutral when praying. If we know we are praying with specifics in mind, should we pray? Idk I thought the whole “write it down, make it plain” scripture was about praying with intention. what posture should my heart be in if it’s something you truly desire. Should the guy in the example simply prayed to be married or ask if he’s meant to be married? What difference would that wording had made when in his heart he knew he wanted to be with the cutie? I missed the message.

Great teaching! Can someone tell me....I hear this pastor quoting from "the message bible". I have heard that translation and the passion translation attacked a lot online. I read the Passion translation beside other older translations. I like it and I don’t see a problem with it. There are a few places that I see words that may be added but it is easy to see that those are added. What do you think of those 2 translations?

What I don’t understand about the Martha and Mary thing is that someone had to be cooking. I would love to sit and listen to Jesus but at the same time if I’ve invited him over then I would also want to make sure there’s something to eat. Maybe she could’ve cooked earlier I suppose. Can anyone help me understand something I’m missing ?

If you change the word of God or dare I say teach from a changed word will he hear you? Rev 22:18-19, Deut 4:1-2, Prov30:5-6. If you sin again God, he will not hear you Isaiah 1:15, 59:2, Psalms 66:18. You see I am struggling to understand what is being preached these days. Jesus described the church in his time as blind leaders of the blind. If the blind lead the blind they will all fall into the ditch. What about situations like Job, where God is silent because he is trying your faith. David ask "how long will you forget me." He wasn't doing anything wrong? I have always understood that when God speaks to you he confirms it through his word (the Bible). God wanted you to have a fancy expensive set of clubs and told you to go play golf? Why? Why did he not tell you to go and sell your clubs and give to the poor or support a mission group? Why would God do something like that but the God fearing man in serious needs of financial aid and has been praying and asking God for help can't get a lick, but instead is forced to scrape by and struggle through life? Nowadays it seems like the Scribes and Pharisees (hypocrites), the scripture twistin teachers of false doctrine are being exulted and the ones who are in need of that help are being abandoned, betrayed, over looked, and thrown to the wayside as through they hold little to no importance. What is more important how many viewers you got to watch your last message or how many lost souls that have been lead to the Lord? So why not preach the truth, whole truth, and nothing but the truth? And do it in accordance to Jude 1:22-23.

I see you have the Superman sign. Superman was created by two Jewish teenagers in Ohio. Kal-El means '" Voice of God." ABC of Salvation: A: Accept your a sinner. B: Believe Jesus died for your sins and rose again after 3 days. C: Call on the name of Christ to save you with his shed Blood to atone for your sins. Mean it in your heart. DONE DEAL.
