  • The Everest Base Camp trek on the south side, at an elevation of 5,364 m (17,598 ft), is one of the most popular trekking routes in the Himalayas and about 40,000 people per year make the trek there from Lukla airport. Trekkers usually fly from Kathmandu to Lukla to save time and energy before beginning the trek to the base camp. However, trekking to Lukla is possible. There are no roads from Kathmandu to Lukla and as a result, the only method of transporting large and heavy goods is by plane.

Scott was an incredible human, in many ways superhuman. I’d love to buy several copies of his book/biography and put them there for people to read. Book: Mountain Madness Scott Fischer, Mount Everest & a life lived on high. Which is the only way to get to know him a little better now. I’m not alone of tge people that knew him in saying the portrayals of him in the “movies” suck… haha which now that I think about it is okay anyway because they wouldn’t have been able to get anyone who would be able to accurately portray him. He was one of a kind in a way most people can’t even imagine is possible! Thanks again for the stellar photography and inspiration to go visit his memorial myself!

    • @ChetanShende

If you are not from India, you will be able to book flights online from Airline’s website, for one way trip. After next day of finishing your trek it will be difficult to get flight tickets , but yes there are Sales offices of Airline at Lukla as well, and it take flight at next day May be little bit expensive.. so I would suggest if ur unable to book flights online give a call to any Domestic Airline who operates Between Kathmandu to Lukla..all the best ..take care..one more latest update I want to share with you from September 2022 local authorities mandated guide for trekking in Everest Region so try to search latest information before going 👍
