Tagging heifers and drying off 600 cows while its cold,wet, & muddy! Not ideal........

Its been cold, wet, and muddy here in Canterbury NZ the last few weeks as we near the end of our milking season on our 2500 cow dairy farm. Unfortunately farmers can't control the weather so we have to just manage with what we are faced with.
Having an excellant team makes this way easier. We have been tagging and putting collars on our heifers and also drying cows off to winter grazing blocks. Its been busy!

Hi there Linda, thank you for your kind comment🙏 We are very fortunate to have very supportive farm owners who understand that the people are the most important part of any large scale business. We are also very lucky to have a great team that all work very well together. To maintain this we have regular team meetings to keep all updated with what is happening each day. Group outings off farm along with team building activities.
Having key senior members of the business participate in hands on practical tasks alongside others helps to maintain mutual respect also.

@@SingleTreeDairiesNZ thanks, only 230 cows this year instead of 280, with 4 staff, so should be a breeze
