You are very good at making videos. I live in Russia and these cars have little information on repair of any parts, thank you man!
Because they hardly breakdown
I am 25 and have never done anything but oil changes before this. It took me 45 min from start to finish. I would say with this video nearly anyone can do this.
Best video of replacing this valve on TH-cam.
Any idea of what makes these valves go bad? Has Toyota brought out a new and improved valve in 2024?
Keep it up man. I'm gonna link this video to Toyota Corolla forums whenever anyone asks about changing that valve.
Coolant over time seeps through the connector and short the terminal pins together.
@@TheYotaChannel Love the channel!
Would putting some dielectric grease on the pins be a good idea to prevent coolant contact?
Nice informative video. Quick question, do you not have to pressurize the cooling system when refilling coolant?
Thanks for the how to new subscribers
Thank you for the sub. 🤝🤝🤝
Where I can get the valve? Or the number part ? Thank you !!
3:09 I just got the same message on my 2020 Toyota Corolla with 60,000 miles. How long can I drive it before taking it to a mechanic for the fix?
You have time. I've seen customers prolonging it for weeks before getting it repaired. It will NOT cause the car to overheat.
@@TheYotaChannel thanks so much I was so worried about that because I can’t afford it until next week. Thanks again.
How do you get the code portable scanners won’t read it?
Can you help me with the name of the part or part number ? Because o call the dealer and they told me about 2 valves
What causes the valve to fail? I drive 8-10 hours a day I have a 2021 corolla xse should I be concerned about this happening? My car is at 66,000 Miles. Thank you!
Hey, what size hose did you use to remove the coolant from the radiator? my message came up last week and the part finally came.
Would this just be solved low coolant levels? Or with topped off level of coolant still causing the message? I have had the message for about 2 weeks now.
I have a 2021 SE and I just got the warning light. 43k miles. Does this cause engine damage if not treated asap?
No, it doesn't need to be repaired right away.
Thank you so much. Any time frame to do so? Days, weeks, months? Thank you.
What size hose do you need to put on the radiator on the bottom to drain? Is it ½? I really wanted to drain my coolant so this will be a perfect time while I'm changing bypass val. I just start getting this engine maintenance at 90,5k on 20se
Great video. Do you know a recommended technician in Orlando FL that can perform this repair?
Thank you. As you can see, it's a simple repair. Most technicians at Toyota will easily be able to perform this repair.
@@TheYotaChannel Thank you. Estimated cost?
Is it the same steps for a 2019 Camry?
How do you remove the electrical connecter? You did not describe how to do the removal.
There is a connector tab facing towards the windshield. You need to press on the tab and pull up
@@TheYotaChannel Thanks! I had used a mirror to locate the tab towards the windshield side of the connector about halfway down and in the middle. I had to press only in the middle of the connector and was able to pull up.
There are two very similar valves for the 2021 Corolla 2.0 liter with CVT:
The one EVERYONE changes (16671-F2010) and another for the CVT (transmission). How do we get to that second valve (16671-F2020), and how do we test it?
thanks for the video! Can I do this without draining the coolant?
What’s the part number on the bypass valve I have seen 2 different part numbers for bypass valves.
Do you have to bleed the system?
Is it for any Corolla? Mine is. Corolla 2020 SE
It’s just for the 2.0 litre engine and your 2020 SE is included
Hi jr. l have a 22 Corolla hatchback. Do I have to replace also ? Thanks
Only if you're getting the "engine maintenance required" message displayed. Make sure you have the same engine in your Corolla hatchback that you see in this video.
I did the same but the engine gets very hot
Did you bleed the air out of the cooling system? And did it run hot prior to the valve replacement?
Where r u
My dealership charged me 530 for this lol could’ve done it myself
Yea, you really could've. That's why i always recommend you look on TH-cam first to see if you can do it yourself and to see if the price is justified.
