Not all mechanics are created equal. There are some lazy dudes working at dealerships.

I know couple guys that own GR corolla, they all tracking it just fine, other than miss shift. Its amazing you don't hear fire issues in GR Yaris since both car use exact same engine.

Toyota is lying again. If the information didn't end up on the internet where anyone could see it Toyota would have swept it under the rug and the owner would have been blamed. Toyota tried it with my new 2020 Camry several times with all its electrical and mechanical gremlins. The dealer and corp Toyota never heard of any problems during the time tens of thousands of the engines were being replaced due to defective blocks, the dealer mechanics said there were a lot of complaints and problems. All the mechanics also said the cars very seldom leave people on the side of the road but most of the work they have were problems with the cars. It was easier to dump that piece of junk instead of arguing with them about the most annoying car I've ever had. My previous Camry's were great and seldom give me any problems, most being minor after a lot of miles were put on them. I put rings in my 2007 I bought really cheap because of oil burning. I didn't know it was a engineering problem until after I bought my 2020 and did a little research. I put another 200k miles on it after that without any major problems. My 2020 didn't make the drive home from the dealer without the transmission acting up. The dealer said it was normal for that (crappy) 8-speed, the same one in today's Tacoma with transmission issues, to feel like it's slipping and having trouble going in a different gears. That was the start of many of its problems including hard shifts and not going forward after backing up. Toyota said I needed to let idle for 10 to 15 minutes before driving to stop the problem. Instead of making it right they blamed me for not letting it idle several minutes. I thought it was funny Toyota never heard of any problems but gave me a half assed work-around for a problem.

Hello Sir, I have a Toyota Prius 2012 model and it has 183k miles on it. I have the same issues. The brake, abs, check engine light is on and it keep making the buzz noise. I took it to the Toyota dealership and they said something about a code C1301 and they said to replace brake booster and pump. They quoted 3500usd plus tax for it. I drove the car but the brake doesn’t seem to respond timely. What should I do? Is there any other way that I can do it cheaper? Please HELP!

Thought I'd just have to disconnect the battery every time I parked the car, but saw this video, got the basics, looked around and found a little plastic cap we put on the valve of the scuba tanks when not being used, and slipped that over the metal part of the brake where the broken part was...and it works, brake lights off when they're supposed to be.

You better not ever get into an accident while still under warranty. They will pull the carfax and deny your warranty. All tho the accident has nothing to do with the complaint . I feel as if Toyota dealers spend more time just looking for ways to deny your warranty . It’s an easier transaction to swipe the customers credit card and add as many shop hr then actually doing the repairs under warranty and filling out tue claim and waiting for Toyota to approve and pay them . And when the customer declines the work they still charge 200 for diagnostic.

Stripped, frozen, damaged bolts are not covered by flat rate but time and material. Time to explain things properly to your service writer… Also the dealer ( and other shops) will not accept vehicles over a certain age (15 years or less) and can just tell a customer this job will be time and material, please sign here.

My question has been was the ECU even able to be plugged in and the data downloaded due to the fire? Did the fire completely destroy the proof mod what really happened? And if it did, maybe Toyota should have covered it. What are your thoughts? I've not heard anyone mention anything about this information.

Toyota of Clermont FL replaced mine under warranty 14k miles ago and it's back to failing. Pump runs very often and for a long time when it's restarted after sitting for a few hours... should it be covered under warranty still with only 14k on the new part?
