@@lords-electrical I learned about your channel, like many others recently, through it being recommended by the people who enjoy the soft and calm manner in which you speak. That said, as a pretty clueless young adult, these videos have helped me learn what features to look for and what to consider when it comes time to buy my own appliances, so I wanted to let you know how valuable this content is for people in my position and to thank you for taking the time out of your Saturday to upload a video addressing a jokey comment I made.

yeah I knew our comments would be too tempting. can't wait to see what's in store. my wife and I were in the UK last year and she got sick of me pointing out how much faster the 220v kettles in the hotel rooms were vs our 120v ones in the US A

Hi from the States! I just bought an electric kettle and your suggestions were spot on. you may want to highlight what you get between certain price points. for me I found at usd $50 you had to choose EITHER cool touch exterior OR a water indicator. a follow up highlighting expectations like that might be cool!

Hi there ,is a stainless steel kettle healthier than a plastic one which can have very strong odours?

    A nice vid, as always.
But I gotta say, I personally would *never* trust a kettle or a coffee maker (whether smart or dumb) plugged in while I'm asleep or away from home.
I don't even charge my phone overnight.

M8 kettles can even boil as little as a mug even if that's below the minimum mark and I know this Because I always do it on multiple kettles including my Duronic EK30 digital kettle.
But you can not do this amount on old school ones.
And boiling just 1 mug doesn't damage it in any way.
Just thought I'd tell you that

Also plastic kettles leave plastic taste and chemicals in your water. Better go for non plastic

Smart kettles seem to be very few and far between in the UK and all have compromises. The only ones I have found are the Smarter iKettle (the best known), the WeeKett and the Link2Home WiFi Smart Kettle. Do you have any experience with any of these, or are there any others that you know of?

    • @lords-electrical
      @lords-electrical  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Must admit its an area we haven't really gone into. Can't say as I think there would be a huge market for a smart kettle. If you need to be there to fill the kettle, and make the drink, then is there a huge advantage to having the ability to turn it on with your phone? I may be wrong though.

@@lords-electrical It's more about voice activation and being able to set it boiling so that it's boiled before you get to it. Saves you wating around for 2-3 minutes while it boils.

Hi, I am searching for a new kettle, but one of the main point for my choice is the long lasting kettle, ... I have realized, that longetivity of the kettle is set by quality of the switch, ... My experience is that, the switch is one of the one thing which gets broken first ... can you suggest how to choose not just good looking, good functioning, but also long lasting kettle, ... lots of earth resources can be saved if such a kettle can last at least 5 years, ... not 2 as my experience is ... /I buy better than avarige kettle/ thak yoou rastie

I would love to be able to recommend one but unfortunately the cost doesn't mean it is a better kettle. We have sold kettles at well over £150 that have been really poor.

No mention of efficiency of each kettle ? quite important if you're boiling it 5 times a day every day for 5 years.

    To save yourself 10 minutes:
    1. Does it match your toaster
    2. How heavy it is (for people with arthritis)
    3. How noisy it is
    4. Cord length - can the cord be hidden underneath
(I have never seen a kettle where it can't)
    5. Temperature option / keep warm function
    6. Water level indicator - how easy it is to read
    7. Minimum amount of water to boil
    8. Smart kettles - set your kettle to boil at certain time
of the day - it does not say which kettles do that, just look it up
    9. How long is warranty - 1, 2 or even 3 years?
    10. Price
Don't expect to see any of these kettles in action in this
    video.

Number one ☝️ is how easy to clean it 🧽 number 🤘how fast water got bowl 🍲 number 🤘👉👍 simpler easier to use, avoiding too many buttons it will be more complicated to use and more expensive as well and head breakage to clean it , number 🖖 buy a well-known brand that is not necessarily expensive and preferably from a big store also for after-sales service, once I bought a well-known brand in the USA I had a replacement of the product after 9 months of use , number 🦶by the way there is no number ✋😆 and happy thanksgiving 🦃 stay safe
