I'm looking for the quietest kettle. There's nothing worse that a visitor calling , you put the kettle and then have to shout over the noisy boiling kettle.

No mention of build quality, materials used, warranty length, colour choice.

All good points, Stephen - we went from purely a user experience point of view, but we'll bear this in mind for future tests! Cheers :)

Well, surprise , surprise , the most expensive one got the vote. Pug ugly, though. Actually, I have the previous version of that Asda one. It's a classic among budget kettles. Does the job well, and above all..... it's reliable. I went through several budget kettles from supermarket own brands. All croaked inside a year or 18 months. I've had the Asda one for, actually I've lost count, must be about 5 or 6 years. Still works as well as the day I bought it.

I fill my Tefal through the spout and that's the way the ASDA one in this review has been designed.

Can someone give these kettle makers a free idea for/from me... Its a laser kettle... It uses lasers to heat up large volumes of water in seconds instead of minutes... You can use mirrors inside the kettle to reflect the lasers around the inside... Thanks...
Looking forward to making coffee in two seconds instead of staring at the kettle forever...
