@@boruto4162 wasn't his point, I suppose. While I generally would say, that people who try will get somewhere in life legally, not all crimes happen because someone tries to be cool or whatever. You're talking about gang members. Whole different mindset. But someone who just struggles in life, and has to worry about if there is any food even tomorrow, and goes ahead and steals something.. yeah, it's not great, but I find that excusable. Once violence comes in, different story. But stuff like, idk, stealing some flour, rice, noodles, just basic groceries in a supermarket to have something to eat, shouldn't be judged too harshly. Giving such kids jailtime is counterproductive.
Give them community service, and given the circumstances that lead to the crime, let them do the service where there's a chance they can come home with some food, if they're doing well. Not to reward the crime, but to offer a perspective.
If nothing changes during the community service, the crime will just happen again. And again. And again.

Brains and balls seem to get you a heck of a lot farther in that life than brawn.
Jimmy Burke was never a made guy, but from everything Ive read, held more power than a lot of low to mid-level capos. Sonny Black was living in a cheap apartment with old furniture. Burke was taking down million dollar scores.
Carlo Gambino was a tiny, unassuming old man who didn’t stand out at all except for his large nose. But he was sharp as a scalpel and greatly respected.
Galante, Vario, Massino, and Sonny are among the few who had brains to go along with their intimidating presence.

Expensive, serious lessons learned from consequences you either knew was gonna come or not - the important thing is how you’re dealing with it now, which in my opinion is something that takes a lot of guts AND brains, and I’m sure that you’ve straightened the path and influenced a lot of people with all you’re stories, and will continue to do so.

Nice to hear Mike's insight into Jeffrey MacDonald. Read the book back in the eighties and never did buy in to his goofy story about the crazy hippies that killed his wife and daughters. Especially on a major military base. Even though he was married, MacDonald was quite the player and it just caught up to him. He wanted out. Another great story, Michael!

You need to look into this, there is much evidence confirming Dr. MacDonald's 'goofy story'. This, not to mention the military police's typical sloppy methodology combined with the Army's incessant need to wrap things up quickly.
Oh, and on a personal note- ---phuck you and every know it all commentator who so easily condemns a man based upon a quick judgment----fire in his eyes--lots of men have 'death in their eyes' from time to time----so what?

    Michael,
I caught a lot of your interviews with Patrick Bet David and djvlad, which I think were great and informative, and now I have found your channel. Thank you for you. We are the same age, I'm several months older than you. I'll be 70 in February, and I think that I once heard you say you're in June. I live in Florida, but I'm born and raised in Northern NJ., and spent my first 46 years there, and which I still consider home. Like you, I've been through a lot, but not prison. Anyone who achieves 70 years on this earth has been through a lot. Everyone has a story. I'm looking forward to all of your content, and again, I thank you. I was sorry to hear about your father's passing. He did have an extra long life, although much of it without his freedom.

So happy that I found your channel, been following your previous interviews - speeches - documentaries you appeared in but this way of you sharing your memories, experiences are a lot more "personal" and educative. Even though I am from a couple of thousand miles away, across the ocean, some places you mention means nothing to me but I love listening to what you share with us. Thank you!
God bless you Michael and stay safe!

If Michael wasn't a Christian I'd say 100% he'll be a guest sooner rather than later BUT Rogan is very anti-Christ. Joe's content is great mind you and I'm a fan but he loves to mock God, the Bible and Faith in general. Not sure he'd want to help a real saint like Michael.

I am glad that you are teaching the young by your mistakes. Most young people are interested in the money. I think a great message to include would be about how once you have plenty of money you can still find yourself unhappy about things. I feel that most kids and young men believe that once you have money that all your problems are gone. This is so far from true. It takes away that constantly worrying about it but money is not a fix it all. God Bless

I watched "Gotti" based on your recommendation. They depicted a similar setting with Wise Guys eating special foods in what looked like a special chow hall.....
It was a good flick though. A refreshing change from the "Scorsese type" mob films.

Scorsese actually said in an interview that the prison scene in Goodfellas with them eating all the food wasn’t too far off from the information they gathered in real life... so idk maybe it did happen just in certain state level facilities and certainly not at the federal level
