Just wanted to say thanks for this as it is much appreciated; coming from the Evo/DSM and Subaru community, information on the forums is in abundance. I have always built and tuned my cars from the ground up and recently the N54 platform, which I am still very much learning. Although, it seems like many vendors and shops keep the information very well hidden or simply kept out of the public forums so their "expertise" and services can be marketed. Granted if you are not a true gear head or mechanically inclined you would never know but this happens to some extent on every car/forum.. I was going to comment when I initially watched this video but never got around to it.. After some N54 researching I ran into your posts along with the other "experts" dismissing your tunes/re-flashes, which I found odd when you provide all your maps unlocked or opened for analysis/learning. Even more so giving back to the BMW - N54 community and advancing the platform or at least giving access to the underground mechanics, not to mention an honest and transparent service. The only conclusion I could come up with was that you were on the verge of bankrupting MHD or COBB out of their cookie cutter tunes.. Which led them to send their undercover minions🤣 Thanks again brotha, ill be waiting for the next video and keep up the great work!👍
Good timing and thanks for the work! Just found your v12 maps this afternoon. Planning to try and use the v12 n54 hybrid turbo map and modify it for stage 2 TD04's.
did you get around it? I could use a bef map for 19Ts with pump gas until I finalize my fueling setup and get a proper custom tune. currenlty using JB4 pump BEF map, not ideal
Just continue this video series 👍. It is difficult to find the purpose of the tables on the internet and how they affect everything. All the information is so scattered. Thank you.
Where can I download those ''FREE CUSTOM N54 MAPS V13'' tunes? I see that you have a IJE0S map for hybrid turbos and 91 oct, whats the boost target on those? I have 19Ts and looking for a good tune until I finalize my setup and get a proper custom tune. Also, I am currently running JB4 BEF pump gas map, do you have a BEF Hyrbid turbo map for pump gas?
I think I remember seeing a video a while back (which I can't find now) getting into self tuning (I think it was by you). Was it taken down? Do you have a link to it? I am in the process of self tuning my n54 and look forward to your videos.
Just a few ideas, do you think you could create a video talking about the scaled tuning? How the load axis correlate to the new n20 (or whatever) map sensor. The way I understand it, is at a certain point the map is being reported at 50%. Which tables to make sure you modify for the new loads? Currently trying to understand this for my own self tuning project. Side note: e71 x6 ///M msd85, any self tuning or xdfs or anything for that? Been searching high and low. Sorry for the long message.
I am not able to get V8Bait's Tuning spreadsheet. I followed your old guide removing the limits in the past, but I don't have the files anymore. A quick run-over of what variables to tweak to prevent my car from going limp would help.
thank you for very informative video. I have one question. I have some mods done on car like,dp,ic,17T,cp, i wanted to use your base map for hybrid turbo but car was silly i assume that was because of the n20 3.5 bar sensor that i dont have ? am i correct ? one friend of mine said that when im using 17T turbos with ots map from mhd it will be lean for these turbo setup was he correct ? ill try to log it buy yu will know off shelve :D
Hello. He is correct. You will be too lean on MHD OTS and you need 3.5 bar for my maps. Just a reminder I do not support my free maps so you are on your own. When you get to modding turbos and such, always go for custom map, as it can be tuned both for 3.5 bar and stock 2.5 bar
@@rfptuning thanks man. I went from mhd stage 1+ map that i had on car to your free stage 2 map. And ive logged pull and my afr was pretty normal on your map. But you think for a base map in my setup its still better to go with hybrid map from you ? that one with no TD03 written in it. Or what would you consider for me. But i can feel big difference from mhd to yours map. Car feels way better with response and power climb it goes really smooth. On that mhd map it was sometimes hesitating and i went like twice to limp mode probably because of those hybrid turbos.
@@rfptuning only thing weird i noticed on log with stage 2 is wgdc base and after pid. Ain some section of graph im having much higher wgdc after pid than base like triple of ammount and i could not understand corectly what you tried to explain in which units its converted that left side of column in wgdc base. I would like to apply some changes like you explain higher but i want to focus at that corect section by units.
@@rfptuning allright. But beside services on free maps. My question for this video. That wgdc base on left side you mentioned its in atmosfere units ? So bottom 2.4 is how much psi when i want to scale it out and look exact position. 2.4 its like maximum target boost ?
You need to have a separate table or a tables that is modified where ECU can read the timing and fuel from. Once the trigger is pressed, AIT codes gotta get removed and AIT sensor will read cold temps, turbo will spool due to timing and fuel. On n54 Wedge is the only one so far who did it, MHD should release their software solution this year too. JB4 currently are the only ones who have anti-lag
Nice comment, as people say: "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything." Since you feel entitled to everyone giving you free maps and working for free for you, I would reccomend learning how to do things yourself. You are prime reason I stopped helping people for free.
This is the first video that actually helped me understand tuning and what I can do to learn.
Glad it helped

Thank you for your kind words man. Idk about bankrupting but I did push them to release V9 and V10 maps for sure :)
Thank you . Please continue the series if you could . Good luck w everything guru rfp
Thanks for the awesome information! Really helpful to me as I’m tuning my N54 myself
Good, I will release more info soon.

Hey I always loved your videos, I'm glad you're doing another series
hey man was wondering if you were gonna make a timing tuning part 2 for the n54 that would be awesome thanks
Amazing information.Thank you
You are welcome.

Way too fast for me as a beginner. But it's really awesome that he's willing to share this info with everyone. Is there a "For Dummies" version LOL.

Great video. Would you be able to share you're tuning strategy? Do you usually start with boost?
Boost and limiters first
how do you get the stock tune file from the car? what software are you using to read and write?
You can use MHD or BM3
Is it ok to have ≈ 200 Actual Load for 25-26 psi of boost with 6° of timing ?
Depending on what you are targeting. If you are 5-10 below load target, that is fine
Where can we get those base files like stage 1 or stage 2?
Can you make one for single turbo? I'm running you single turbo map and I get crazy throttle closure. The load target is only 170
thank you for very informative video.

Hey can you tell me where i can download stage1/2

How do you setup antilag with a switch... very interested in that

As of today, anti lag is software based :)
Load actual is lower than load requested if you could point in me the right direction that would help, thanks!
