    Thank you so much for the honest review! We do offer replacement adapters if you lose one. 😉

    I have 9 different Rode Microphones and 1 Zoom Mic. I use both brands with my Podtrak PK4. Have had no problems with either brands.

    I was surprised with one. It really sounded good. As someone that uses lavs a lot in live sound and hates them, this sounded like a really nice microphone. I do agree though, with the extra cost for the full kit, you might as well buy the Rode. They sounded pretty close too.
    And I do like my freedom units 😂

    I am curious why the need for the antenna. The Godox Cube S wireless mic supports 300m without an antenna, so the technology and hardware is available. the other logical question is what's the distance coverage without the antenna ? for some simple video without things sticking out from my smartphone, I don't want the antenna. The other thing that Rode Wireless Pro has over the Saramonic is the lockable 3.5 connector for the lav. Though some people reported problems with the lock mechanism, it's doesn't provide a good fit for the connector, even for the supplied Rode Lav.
    the advantage of Saramonic over the Rode is the 130db dyanmic range. Rode is notorious for low dynamic range in their Rode Wireless Go range, with people commenting that their mic clips very easily in daily scenarios. I'm sure their Wireless Pro model can't do much better. 32 bit float doesn't mean that the mic doesn't clip, it just means the recording doesn't clip. If the mic capsule sucks with low dynamic range, it will still clip. If Rode is still giving us their low dynamic range mic capsules, then I will go with Saramonic just to avoid clipping with daily encountered scenarios, even if they are the same cost. See here for issues with the Rode Lavalier mic supplied with the Rode Wireless Go Pro: www.reddit.com/r/videography/comments/183mi2y/anyone_has_issues_with_the_rode_wireless_pro/.
    On that note, you should let us know if the 130db specs is for the Saramonic transmitter mic and the supplied Lavalier or just for the Saramonic transmitter mic. If you read further down the Reddit thread, you'll find people complaining of the Rode supplied Lavalier. I assume the Saramonic lavalier will be of similar quality at this price point. One can't expect Sennheiser or Sanken lav quality at this price point. Lavs at those price points have lockable connectors which Saramonic does not suport.
    you didn't mention how easy it is to get the files off the Saramonic, can it be done through a drag and drop from Windows Explorer? . In Rode case, you will need to go through the app to get the files off the receiver, it's a pain in the butt to have to go through the app, more steps in the workflow.

    I usually go for a more affordable option for personal field or a UHF solution for paid work, but the Rode Wireless Pro looks to be a great option for a middle ground. I have one set of Saramonic wireless I use in a shop that could get damaged at any point. I just noticed the Rode Pro has 32GB of storage, locking TRS connectors, and can work with the interview Por and RODECaster for just $100 more.

    Sounds so much better with noise cancellation off. Noise cancellation makes that tin can robot 90s cel phone breakup sound.

      Yeah...and again...as long as you are closer to the mic...generally people will hear you better.
      No need for the cancelation!

    The vocal enhance sounded good, the noise reduction was I suspect being made to work too hard and was distorting the vocal. In an office environment for example I'd bet it would have kept a lid on background noise without the distortion.

    I never buy 32-bit float gear, being able to gain-stage using my ears. Of course, there is the addedd efficiency of not having to convert anything in post except perhaps for dithering from 24-bit. as for compressors and the like, give me analogue any day.

    I started out with a Saramonic Blink500 kit, upgraded to the Rode Wireless Go II which I loved and the day the Wireless Pro was announced I ordered it. For me that is close to perfect. Only thing that would make it perfect is being able to jamsync timecode into it not just out towards other devices. I hope that will come in Wireless Pro 2 :)

    • @DarkCornerStudios
      @DarkCornerStudios  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Now I dont do timecode...but I am pretty sure you can jamsync with the Wireless Pro...no?

    • @ww1www
      @ww1www 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @DarkCornerStudios The Wireless Pro can generate timecode but it cannot receive timecode. For example, it can be the master and my F8nPro the slave. But it cannot work the other way around, which can be a problem with some TC setups. One, but one very common example for such problems: imagine you have more than one Wireless Pro kits. Each pair will be on a different timecode and cannot easily be synced by TC.

    The Rode wireless microphones are considerably larger vs the Saramonic Ultra.

    Data transfer alone would make/have me get the Rode, but nice to have options. I also don't like having noise canceling "backed in" to the recording, I like choices in post, but I also never use wireless live. Nobody talks about wireless interference/channel selection anymore, is that still an issue? Thanks.

    Thanks for the video. 🙂I think the Rode sounds better, although maybe that's not surprising as they're primarily a mic company (a good one). I think the Rode beats the DJI there as well. If Saramonic pushed the price down on the bundle set then maybe it would be a stronger proposition for the cash conscious. As is, I'd go with the Rode. P.S. I don't advise using inbuilt noise cancellation with ANY of these newer units unless the situation is a time critical emergency. Otherwise, it's a gimmick at best, and will bake-in what could be artifacty watery sound forever. Do that stuff in post, folks. Accentize, Supertone, and Waves make good plugs for this work, and DaVinci Resolve (paid version) has voice isolation stuff ready to use. They all sound better than these baked-in things, plus they provide full control. Cheers. 👍
