BANDTASTIC!: My wife and I attended this show “Top Of The World” -- A Carpenter’s Tribute at the Paramount Hudson Valley Arts Theater in Peekskill on 10/12/24. We were astounded by the talent of Debbie Taylor and the incredible band behind her. I was mesmerized by her voice and how closely it resembles Karen Carpenter- one of the greatest voices and singers in American history. Ms. Taylor also narrates the show with wonderful insights taking you down memory lane. If you close your eyes you can easily imagine Karen Carpenter performing as an angel. That’s how good her voice is. Such a performance could only occur with the best musicians and vocalists who mirror Richard Carpenter’s brilliant arrangements. With band members playing more than one instrument, this band is second to none. My kids got me these tickets as a birthday gift last August because I had often said that I wish Karen was alive so I could attend one of her concerts. This event was in essence, a dream come true . . . all due to this great show and of course the Carpenters. Bravo! 👏
I came across this video while searching for something else. I'm so glad I did. I'm a former DJ in Canada and this is the best Carpenter's Tribute Band that I have ever seen and heard, They're outstanding.🎤🎤🎤🎤
I’ve watched a few of the other Carpenters tribute groups on YT. The vocalists are all very talented and skilled singers. But Debbie is the closest in timbre and phrasing. The band is a fine collection of musicians...top notch for sure. I’ll be in Southern Calif a week before there concert n September this year. I hope I can see this show....my wife is a huge fan as well! Keep up the great work!!!

That being said , yes I think she's very good , but I would have to hear them live to give that A+ you've issued. From what I see on TH-cam, I'm not where you are .

That was actually very good because its very difficult to sing like Karen Carpenter, she was one of a kind and even though the voice is very alike to Karen Carpenters the one thing noone can do is be like her in true soul and character singing. Very good though.
I am a massive " fan" of the Carpenters, and if this lady came on the radio singing some of these songs, I think I wouldn't be able to tell it's not Karen, unless I listened very closely and then there are some slight distinct differences. She is not as velvety as Karen , But other than that, what a voice
Saw the show tonight at mpac. I thought she was amazing. Even if she didn’t sound like Karen (which I thought she did) She still had an amazing voice. Beautiful tribute.
I've listened to all the Karen Carpenter tributes out there, and the difference is always the baritone notes. Yes, Tori Holub is the cutest & the most popular & has the best production, but her baritone notes aren't as good as others, and that's what a good KC vocal is all about. Debbie Taylor & Toni Lee do a slightly better job overall mainly by nailing the baritone notes, but Debbie is the best & it's a shame that she doesn't get the views the others do. Would like to hear her voice in the studio as it would really shine there with a Neumann mic & layered harmonies behind her.
Debbie is selling out decent sized venues all over America. She doesn't do "ok." She mimics KC note for note and millions have taken notice. I'm sorry you are not capable of hearing it.
Wow! How many Karen sound alike are you guys? Shane Ericks, Chloe, Toni Lee, Abigail Mendoza, Sally Olson, Jacqui Hamilton and You? But so far you are the closest, almost 99% or maybe 100% depending on the song you sang...
Ok…..not close enough really. For a KC tribute it has to be perfect, and there are lots of little errors. Lots of work on the nuances could make it nearer the mark.

Wow! Pretty close! If I had to be really critical and nit picking. I'd say that the original karen carpenter had a slightly higher voice. But that is being very nit picky! If you have a very good pair of headphones and a decent amp / dac. Listen to the original recording productions from the cd or if possible a master recording of some sort maybe reel to reel and then compare it to this singer. A slight distinct difference. Being nit picky. But if you don't have a very good recording or listen to her on a only decent headphones and dac. Close your eyes and it's exact. Just like the missing karen carpenter. Would be close to the age of carole king right now. Actually Karen Carpenter woud be cosidered as the younger sister to carole king in age!
