  • The kit builds up very well; there's only a few errors in the instructions.

    Very good unboxing and kit discussion, Stugs in 1/35 may not be my cup of tea but I can clearly see the appeal and quality of the kit. Thank you for sharing.

      It's a great kit! Haven't 100% finihsed it up though, but it's been about 90% built for the last week and I've had other things to do since. Hopefully I can tackle the shurzen and then the tracks soon! Thanks, Chris!

    Yup. This isxa great kit. I have the other stug with zimm and I think the zimm looks amazing. I also have a pz IV amd ostwind with the zimm moulded on and I love it. Great review btw.

      Dragon's StuGs are great kits :) Some of their best IMO. Do you have the StuH or the StuG IV early? I built their Pz.IV with zimmerit too and that looks nice :)

      Well it is a Dragon kit... :) And 200 of those parts are just the tracks lol. It's a pretty nice kit though, not hard at all!
      You take care too, Norm :D

    Cool StuG.are you going to show build up dates when you build it? I want one.....cool model. can never have enough Stugs:)

    • @Panzermeister36
      @Panzermeister36  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm mostly done the build actually, but I'll do some updates and how-tos during the painting of the interior and the camo, as well as the weathering and the base I've planned for it!

    Nice review! I like the StuG III. It is probably my favorite SPG of World War 2. You could do a very cool diorama with this. Perhaps I can help give you some ideas?
    Well, I just got back from my hobby shop today!!!! I got a ton of stuff! I got the Marines in Tarawa, M4A2 Sherman in Tarawa, Japanese in Peleliu. That's all the Dragon sets I got. I, also got Verlinden Marines and Tamiya Japanese infantry. Finally gonna build my first Sherman in 1/35 scale. This Sherman really looks like something Tamiya would make. It really looks like a more advanced Tamiya kit, which really surprised me.

      Thanks Davis! The StuG is my favourite anything from WWII :) I've already got the base planned out, nothing much, but a grassy field kind of like the base for the BT-7 I did, but shorter grass. I've got some crew figures to pose in the hatches too!
      Yup Dragon's Shermans are not very complex builds; my M4A1 was an easy build! So I assume you have something planned for the Sherman and the figures, given they're all pacific-theater :)

    • @davisjacobs3074
      @davisjacobs3074 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Panzermeister36 Yes, I do in fact have something planned :) I'm not even finished buy for the diorama, either! If the Sherman build goes well, I'm gonna buy the other M4A2 they had and the LV-4 with Marines and some Japanese tanks. I'm making a huge Pacific diorama set in Peleliu.

      Davis Jacobs That sounds awesome Davis! Make sure you send me some pics of the tanks and dio :)

    When did the Germans start applying zimmerit to their AFVs. Was it after Operation Citadel? The imformation is probably in one of the German vehicle books I've got?

    • @Panzermeister36
      @Panzermeister36  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      They stopped in September 1944. They began applying zimm in September 1943, but for example Alkett (one of the StuG manufacturers and the one who did this zimmerit pattern) only began with zimmerit in December 1943.

    Nice kit ! I have to say dragon kits scare the crap out of me......so many parts ahhhhhh

    • @Panzermeister36
      @Panzermeister36  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well I built this kit in less than three days...their StuGs and T-34s are not very part-y kits. Mind you, you get a ton of sprues in the box, but you'll only use 2/3 of them. Not really any more bits than some of the more complex Trumpeter kits. And then there's the instructions... ;)

  • @The_real_Fritzi
    @The_real_Fritzi 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Be aware that the right 80 mm armor plate beside the gun is without zimmerit. So be prepared to do some zimmerit work- or use the ( wrong) 50+30 plate, which is included.

    • @Panzermeister36
      @Panzermeister36  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Realfritzi The instructions called for the double plate with the zimmerit. But they could be wrong; this is a Dragon kit after all!

    • @The_real_Fritzi
      @The_real_Fritzi 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Panzermeister36 My kit came with one of these correction sheets to use the 80mm plate. ( I had a second wave box)
      Btw. if you are a Stug fan, buy the Müller/ Zimmermann books.

    • @Panzermeister36
      @Panzermeister36  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Realfritzi Alright thanks for the ref man I'll check out those books. I sure am a StuG fan! T-34s too :)

    hai :P Is this the StuG you already started?

    • @Panzermeister36
      @Panzermeister36  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup, I started it on the 1st on January :) Mostly built though, but I'm going to be doing a ton of work painting and weathering it up; there's a full interior for the superstructure and I'm gonna crew it up :)
