a timely reminder, for me, that the sound is the thing, BEFORE the hardware. the approach of 'having it all live-ready', appeals to me, as i get into this thing.
Fascinating, been enjoying your videos. Really interesting perspective doing everything before the recording device. I found your channel from the vid about your pedalboard. Please keep them coming :)
Nice upload. It’s interesting that you’ve gone back to the day that labels sounded different, such as Sun, King, Argon, Starday, and other independent labels of the mid fifties, in which the signature sound of the studio made the label famous, i.e. the sound was caught before it went on to tape. Any effects added after were not to hide anything but literally complimented an already great sound!
Hi, thanks for the comment! Yeah I definitely feel that it's much better to capture the best sound I can before I press record. And those old recordings definitely achieved that.
Hi Luis, thanks so much! Glad you liked the video. I have a lot of my music videos here on my TH-cam Channel, also on the usual streaming services. I'm also putting a lot of effort into my website where you can also stream my music: fabianholland.com/
Hi Fabian, always enjoy your vids. You should have way more subs than you currently do, I guess TH-cam hasn't put a value on authenticity yet :) keep going man. BTW I bought the KM 184 on your recommendation, very happy with it...
Excellent. What I would like to know is how you synced the audio (beautifully done!) with the video. And what did you use to record for the video protion?
Hi Joe, Thanks! I use Adobe Premiere Pro to sync the audio and edit all my videos. To record my videos I just use an old cheap Nikon DSLR, nothing too special. Hope that helps?
Hi Anthony, thanks for your comment. Glad you liked the Lap Steel (it's homemade), I can't remember exactly which pedals I was using for it when I recorded the video but I think it was Empress Para EQ, Strymon BlueSky Reverb and EHX Echo #1 Delay pedal. Cheers
Beautiful music; but we're all looking for HOW you hooked up your ZOOM, HOW you selected which mics on the ZOOM to use (built in vs. direct feed from the mixer, etc.), HOW you set the record levels on the ZOOM, HOW you played back the wav file.... the manual is written for young people like you that are smart, not us old dummies!
Hey Pat, thanks for the feedback! I actually thought about explaining these things when I was making the video but I saw there's so many videos on TH-cam explaining this sort of stuff about the Zoom H4N that I didn't think anyone would be interested. But good to know you are. Maybe I'll make another video explaining these things. Cheers!
Hi, tuning is DADGAD and the first time I play guitar in the video it's just me improvising and then the song I do at the end is a little bit from my song "Another Monday" th-cam.com/video/S-DCd_uV4_A/w-d-xo.html. Thanks :-)
Hi, thanks for the comment. I’ve heard that the H2N is really good? Although I haven’t tried it myself. Do you have any other mics that you can compare it with?

Hi, thanks for the comment. Glad you’ve been enjoying my videos! 😊👍
Super helpful! I'm doing a similar thing. I mostly use the mics attached to it tho I don't have a mix board. For my acoustic stuff it works great.
Oh yeah the mics on this thing are really nice! Thanks for checking out the video! 😊👍

Sounds good.
Wow that home made lap steel was really amazing. What pedals or effects are you using with it? Thank you for this video.

@@FabianHollandGuitar thanks; I probably will😃
Hi Fabian, you’re a musician, a singer, songwriter, and a werewolf😂
😂 thanks so much!!!
What song you played in guitar? What is the tunning?

Hi, you're very welcome. Thanks so much for taking the time to watch the video and comment, I appreciate that! 👍
