I hope Chloe is off somewhere truly living life again. That maby she is busy with some kind of work somewhere, and that that is why she is currently not with Max, but they are still together. Chloe deserves happiness after all the drama after her father died and everything that happened in the first game. Her life kind of stood still for so long. And that in the end of double exposure, we do catch up with her and Max again.

The thing is just to say they broke up isn't enough. We need the full story of what happened. We won't get it though. "Well Chloe, I sacrificed the town for you. Promised to stay with you. Goodbye.

@@StopMeOh So do I, but I am not expecting a satisfactory transition for those who chose the bae ending. It needs to be explained why Max and Chloe aren't together.
I kinda can imagine that as the years go by Chloe feels guilty that her mom is dead or she somehow gets angry as Max. Ofc it could be that she overcame the grief and was fine with it for a while but at times the older you get the more you think about your past and what you could have done better. Maybe something like this happened to Chloe.
I tried to imagine how I would feel if my boyfriend saved my life but on the other hand my family would be gone. Idk if I could be happy. I love my boyfriend more than anything but I also love my family and something would be missing. And I would always asked myself: What if I died instead?
@@daneycune Agreed. Neither Max nor Chloe is coming out of this without serious consequences. Then there is Chloe might feel obligated to stay with Max and it builds up to a breaking point. I guess that is the point. There is no good ending to the game.
That's actually my biggest concern about Double Exposure, not the fact the premise is the same as og lis (death of a friend unintentionally unlocks reality altering super powers although that was certainly a choice 🤔), not if bringing Max back is a good idea at all, no no, it's how they're going to handle Chloe 😅
My girl Chloe is the second most important character of og lis, the first game it's entirely about Max's relationship with Chloe and if you sacrifice Arcadia Bay there's no way to separate them. like these two are in this together until the end. So they better have the greatest explanation of why Chloe will not show up and have a full well developed relationship in the background or they need to make her show up at some point.
And yeah what are going to be the differences between each version of Max because that's a pretty big and fucked up choice she had to make that would make her end up in a very different place in life, it's a big task to make a new game about a existing protagonist and I'm still not sure if they'll be able to give justice to the existing narrative, especially after they said that new player's don't have to play the original, I would think it's important to understand Max but oh well 🤷
I think Deck Nine could be keeping Chloe out of their statements and information for the next game for now. They have been pretty silent on this and I wouldn’t be surprised if fans have been asking Ashly Burch if she’s involved and she hasn’t said anything at all because she wants it to be a surprise.
Or maybe she’s not in the game at all other than those photos and dialogue with Safi. We don’t know yet. But let’s keep our fingers crossed.

I'm somewhat hopeful that DeckNine is leaving Chloe out because they do want there to be a big reveal-kind of like, apologies in advance, NaughtyDog misleading us in the trailer for TLOU2. If they did that, I'd actually respect them big time, because it would show they predicted how much all of us would be like BUT WAIT WHERE'S CHLOE. Like, regardless of the ending people chose, I think all current fans would be thinking that. If they just want to capitalize on Max being a known character with a fan base to tell a new story and somehow brush off Chloe as having had her time in the spotlight, new fans might like that but I don't know how any current fans who chose Bae would be happy. So I guess with all of this, I'm just super hoping they understand their current fanbase, not to do "fan service" but to do justice to characters they created so well and therefore created such fans for.
Yeah, agreed, that's the big question, isn't it? Like if they're avoiding the Chloe topic on purpose (especially in that directors interview it felt almost as if she never existed) knowing very well that for those of us who saved her, we'd be provided with a proper outcome - or are they dismissive (which, granted, also was a little bit of a vibe in said interview). Hard to tell until we see more, at this point we can only be hopeful (tentatively lol), but it's surely a major task ahead for them.
Mm.. Naughty dog did us dirty. People can have different opinions. But I bought that game for the Joel and Ellie adventure.. Me personally, I hated the story

So fans have spotted a ring on Max’s finger!!💍 looks like the ring Joyce had in before the storm that was meant to go to Chloe. A lot of fans now speculating they are engaged or married in bae (maybe long distance for Max’s work?) Chloe has to appear at some point in the game!! She must!!

I hope there will be some sorta journal like in the previous lis games and chloe will be mentioned there a lot jinda like in bts chloe titled every new like note like she was takking to max. It would be awesome if they did that sorta comeback esp since decknine made before the storm

I have a theory that if you chose her she will be in your original reality near the end max will merge them and that will be her new power or if you didn’t it will still merge making it so in the future you’ll see her with Chloe as a happy ending maybe even a Blackwell reference with a few characters or maybe something similar to this so the story will stay mostly the same when it comes to her
My cannon will be that Chloe got to have a big break at whatever career she was having and thus they had to spent time apart (not for max to do soul searching but maybe due to money issues idk) and they are still together. Maybe it's a long event (if the game takes place in a time frame more than a month) or maybe she gets ready for a competition or something and thus they agreed to an open relationship (with open choice to keep it open in the end or become exclusive again / never ).
Something like that i will work it to become more specific when i get more dets of the game

Why would want to spoil chloe being in the game in a timline swapping game? Max is in university in an art one... if chloe is together with max she still wouldnt go to an art uni😂

I recently played through the first game again and I had developed a theory that Chloe at some point would want to go to Paris. Since Max is all the way over on the east coast now maybe where she is was their most recent stop. I can see Max being offered the residency and Chloe encouraging her to stay because she's been needing something like that for awhile and then deciding to venture over to Paris in the mean time.
I’ve invented a new term for a AAA wannabe taking a poop, like murdering PriceField, on the fanbase. It’s called an “Upper Deck9er .” I’m paying that one forward. 😂

It's exciting to slowly get back into this typical LiS-Mood, starting to make theories about this or that. Missed that :) To be honest, the interview with the game directors did nothing for me. I AM excited for the game, sure, but they actually lowered that level of excitement because of the way they almost nonchalantly brushed off the first game and Chloe, who wasn't even mentioned. The latter could be as not to spoil things for potential new players. They smiled and nodded nicely, but the vibes I got - it felt not very honest... Because as you said perfectly in this video, Chloe being there or not is not necessarily the big issue but the portrayal of Max is. One way or the other, she lived through trauma. Not just with the final choice but also being tortured in that Dark room. That alone could be nightmare fuel forever. The emotional aspect of Chloes fate comes on top of that. And depending on how that final choice played out, some things would surely be different for our Max.
So I truly hope, they have respect for that first game and honoring the choice at the end is not just done with 1-2 dialogue options at the beginning but also reflected in how Max feels, thinks and acts.
Or they just want to attract a new young audience with a cool supernatural murder-mystery (the repeated this marketing shtick over and over again) while not burdening new players with the tough stuff from the first game. I don't expect it to go this way, but you never know.

Decknine f up for me. Thats total bs. Dontnod write the ending this way, that nothing will keep them apart again. D9 seriously ruined lis for me, i truely have nothing than hatred for them im sorry. But they ruined basicly everything
If Chloe does make a cameo appearance, I would want Ashly Burch to reprise her role.
Besides Max Chloe,Kate and Warren is who is who I care about. I hope they will atleast get name dropped in Double Exposure, I almost chose Arcadia Bay because of Kate and when it comes to Warren, it was a nice alternative playthrough,but I still had to save Chloe.
I hope the fans who are focusing on Chloe or the lack of Chloe won’t bomb the game before it comes out like last of us fans did to last of us pt. 2 when it was leaked that Joel wasn’t going to be in most of the game. I’m getting uneasy about the vibes I’m feeling from some of the fandom
Well, we get uneasy from the vibes we get from thouse stupid Trailers, d9 L, Pricefield dead. And lis irrelevant in a couple of yrs.
To be honest the pricefield fans always do this. They think their ending is canon. I just hope and expect the developers know and expect what is going to happen and did include at least an explanation they will be happy with otherwise there will be lots of 0/10 scores no matter how good it is 😂. Personally I’m really looking forward to seeing Max again, she was always my favourite 🤷🏻♀️

They already figured out the Lack of Chloe with Safi. Safi is Chloe this is why the Bay ending is almost the only way they could go. I really feel like they are just going to have to wing it.
I don’t think they forgot Chloe. But pricefield isn’t canon and never was. I’m sure she will be in it or we will get an explanation if she is not. I think just best to wait and see and complain afterwards if it is not good. But it is much too early to say. I’m looking forward to the new story and characters.
Chole is not coming back
I personally feel it is important to remember (and suspect many tend to forget) that in one chapter of the original game, Max's attempt to prevent William from dying results in Chloe herself experiencing a catastrophic car crash, and then suffering for years in an alternate time/universe until Max either euthanizes her (Chloe) or leaves her to languish in agony until her (Chloe) ultimate death. This *event* in the original game was, to me, a foreshadowing of what Max would have to face/decide eventually at the end of the game. And if taken as a way of preparing the player to face the consequences of making the choice *right* for them; even if it means not interfering with Fate. For *it was* Max's continuous interference with Fate that caused the tornado of death at the end, indicating her choices were not solutions. And, for me, I would like to imagine that Chloe's absence in this new installment is actually Max's fault. By choosing to "save" Chloe back then, Fate stepped in and "corrected" Max's actions by having Chloe meet her end according to the will of the Cosmos. Such a thing would of course devastate Max, thus setting the stage for this new chapter in her life. The lesson she learns: you can't keep trying to cheat Fate. But that's just my *take* on it.
All indications are this is Deck9 “moving on,” having PriceField not lasting 9 years so they can create a thirsty Max dating sim with whole new characters and a murder mystery, apparently. I can’t play this game. It’s the gaming equivalent of watching a PriceField snuff film. I think everyone should take pause before shelling out $50+ for a plastic, cringy, retcon of a beloved IP.😢. (And of course if I’m wrong, and there is more to their take on PriceField than a few sad face salutes, a wallet pic, backed by soothing indie music, I will profusely apologize. But why don’t they just come out and correct that interpretation? )
Maybe because they don’t want to spoil you? Perhaps the return of Chloe is the end of the first chapter and everything takes a huge turn. Would you like them to tell you the whole entire story before you play the game or would you like to be surprised? 😂. I think is best to wait and see before we judge!
@@jaybee4288 if this is an example of Deck9 marketing, they’re even worse at that than storytelling. You don’t put a large section of your fanbase through the 5 stages of grief for a gotcha. If this is part of the hype, however, and they respect the player choice of PriceField, I’m in for 2 $80 editions. One for Max and one for Chloe. Right now they’re not getting a cent. I’m as done with Deck9 as much as they’re done with me if what I fear is happening truly is. 🤷♀️

@@sakurasaku2251 I’m sure Chloe is in the game. They’ve shown that much. However, what they’ve shown as PriceField is horrific. I’m reacting to what they’ve shown and said about this game, and it looks pretty bad right now. Many apologies to Deck9 and all my money if they turn out to be more than AAA hacks. 🤷♀️
I understand your worry. But I think they want people to buy the game. It could be something like Chloe killed Safi for all we know 😂. That being said this was always going to be a problem with two endings, they can’t make a sequel where Chloe is a main character unless it’s something to do with timelines.
As a game centered on Max and Safi's death, Chloe will likely not play a central part if she even is in the game so i don't expect her to come back and think its for the best if she isn't around. Still, for those players who chose to save her it would be the least Deck Nine could do to provide an answer to her whereabouts. I already know a picture of her exists, as i have seen it in a screenshot but i don't count on her playing an important role because while she was the deuteragonist in the first game, this story is not about her.
To be honest, if i play Double Exposure and i most likely will, then she might not appear in my game at all because i chose the Bay ending 😅
Sounds depressing to me bc i love her but not enough to sacrifice an entire town.
