Question: When embroidering on wool letterman jackets- what needle type and thread weight do you use to embroider on wool body and leather sleeves of letterman jackets? (75/11 or 80/12 needles)?
I love it!! I just stitched my 1st few letterman jackets. I would love to get some mentoring from you, let me know. What font did you use for the name on front and back and what size are the fonts?
Thanks! I don't remember the font those were done a long while back. I never know what size fonts I use I usually just make everything as big as I can for it to look decent on what I will be printing on. I measure the width of the item in the print location and choose the width that I feel would fit and look best on the item. That's all I do.
If you are talking about an embroidery machine I would recommend starting out with a multi needle if you can to keep from having to change the thread colors so much.
Any professional digitizer should be able to do this style. I just sent pics and told mine what I wanted it for and the type of fabric I would be stitching onto.
Good morning. I absolutely love the jacket, and before I asked about the font and the jacket, I checked out the comments to see if others asked. I see several asked, and you didn't respond to them. Is there a reason you won't share where you got the font and jacket from? Just wondering
I have over 1k videos posted so I have shared a wealth of free information over the years. I don't remember the name of all the fonts I use I just know when I see fonts some look familiar and I have to go through the different fonts I have on my computer to find them and when I need a certain type of font I usually google and look for ones that fit the description. I answer a lot of questions in videos and live streams when things are fresh on my mind and people still leave the same questions over and over even with me giving the answers in some of my videos. I never put "I don't know" or "I don't remember" as an answer but sometimes don't feel like stopping everything to look up a specific name to a question that people ask so those often go unanswered. Most of the information in my videos are just things that I figured out on my own without help just by putting forth the effort I needed to find certain things or get something done that I previously didn't know how to do. I have found that if I want to be successful in life, business or whatever I do It solely depends on me and my actions and I can't depend on anyone to give me all the answers. I have to be willing to put in the work to figure out things for myself with guidance from God.
Hi, I’m about to purchase a blank varsity jacket, If i sent you a sketch or digitized design of how I wanted it, could I pay you to stitch and embroider the design?
@@TshirtChick I guess it's a preference thing. They are both real. One just takes less time and is more lucrative in my experience. I'm big on chenelle for varsity jackets. Overall, It still looked nice.
@@jermainejackson1723 I have a jacket with my college logo that someone purchased for me a few years ago and it was done with twill and I didn't like how it looks. I always thought it was one of those seconds jackets until I got into embroidery. I talked a bout a different way to do them in the video which would take less time and make it look more authentic and like the real varsity jacket. I saw Ricoma did a video on exactly what I was talking about in the video a week or 2 ago.
Hi Mario. I have a hooping station that I use to hoop the sleeves it's from Hoop Master and it's made for sleeves and such. I'm sure I have showed the full process of how to do it in one of my other videos (I have over 1K videos posted on my channel). If I show everything in all the videos they would be super long and this one is already 20 minutes and It took hours to edit because the footage was over an hour worth. I usually cut the videos down as much as possible so people will watch the full videos.
@@terryw5500 If you live close to a place that sells this machine they will probably help you learn it for free but I purchased from a place 14 or so hours away in Alabama. There are a lot of videos and tutorials for this machine posted on youtube and they have their own website with a lot of helpful videos and info. I watched them all and learned a lot about the machine and software but with embroidery when the machine stops you have to figure out what the problem is which can sometimes be frustrating until you figure out the different issues that come up and then you will know why it stopped and just fix the problem and get back to stitching. I don't think it was hard to learn to use the machine just figuring out what was wrong when the machine stops but I don't have many issues with it since I know what to look for now when something happens with it. Hope this helps.
@@terryw5500 Tajima is the company that makes it. They teamed up with Juki on this machine so it has branding for both companies. The machine is called the Sai.
When you purchase an embroidery machine they should have training available for that machine. I have done screen printing classes before but not embroidery but I could.
That design is bullet proof the underlay is dense af. But I guess everyone has their own way of doing things. Everything you do looks good. My thing is how does it feel? I'm sorry if I'm outta line but I do some embroidery I can say and I know for a fact that design is not moving freely with the jacket it's like she put a piece of thing wood on the jacket you flick it and I can bet money it sounds like you knocking on a door.

Hi Jasmine!! Thank you!
That’s fresh I’d rock that!
I’m glad I found this channel!!!! Amazing Work 👌🏽
Thank you!
What are your thoughts about patches for the sleeves so things can be added later and still be uniform?
I think that's fine. If patches are used it's best to have them sewn on.
Great job! Tackle twill will give the same look and take less production time. Check out Stahl's tackle twill and Twill Stitch Pro.
Thanks for the tip Ruth. I'm going for a more realistic look than the ones I did in this video. New Video coming soon!
Nothing compares to original stitching ❤

Do you do your own digitizing, or do you outsource? If you do your own, what program do you use?
I only digitize it if it's something really simple. I use Tajima Writer, it came with my machine.

What’s a good material for DTF transfer on a varsity jacket front and back cause both sleeves will be polyester Creating a Varsity Jacket ?
DTF can go on polyester. DTF pretty much goes on any fabric like cotton, poly and most blends. Not sure if it will go onto leather though.
As a newbie what type of machine would you suggest? Should I go all out and just invest in an advanced product or should I work my way up?
If you are talking about an embroidery machine I would recommend starting out with a multi needle if you can to keep from having to change the thread colors so much.
