@davidgray1515 You BELIEVE YOUR OWN COMMENT???? So you think a child having a child should know how to parent a child when she's never been loved or shown how to mother. I learned from watching my mother, grandmother & Aunt's people who loved and cared for me. This child had No one to teach her the basics. Hopefully, she takes this opportunity to change her life around.

So this 15 year old child has lived a pretty terrible life herself, becomes pregnant, scared to death about it, and he’s blaming her for the child being born with issues.
She is a 15-year-old child who had nobody to help her, I don’t really know the whole story, but if she hasn’t been in school since six grade, she obviously didn’t have someone at school to turn to.
I understand sometimes children need tough love, but she doesn’t need tough love. She just needs LOVE!!!! I think it’s incredible that the foster family is taking both the mother and the child.

That's a brain damage that is caused by the lack of oxygen to the brain during birth, not the age, education or social status of the mother. Mothers-to-be don't choose to have complicated births, and blaming them for that is just cruel! 🤬

    • @izz4511
      @izz4511 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

I agree, I think he just worded it poorly. That hearing was focused on her daughter, so that was his point. I did see her face fall when he said the foster parent “mostly” cared about her baby . . . that hurt to see. When she returned, and the hearing was focused on her . . . despite her recent bad choices, he locked in on her positive achievements. Him asking how her grades were, and correcting her, “Not good! They are great!” was very heart warming. I understand this video is dated, and I do think more professionals who work with troubled children these days understand that the harsh/shaming route is extremely ineffective. So I chose to give this judge some grace because during this time period the primary though was to “scare kids straight”

The title doesn't match the content here. This video is about vulnerable babies and young kids being placed into foster care because their parent's can't care for them. In the case of the disabled child. Raven, in the very beginning, her mother was only 15 at the time of filming, and was also a ward of the state. Most of the rest of the film is about young kids with severe mental and physical disorders and their parent's asking for help.

RE: The boy who may have abused his siblings. He can be both an abuser and also a victim. The mom doesn’t seem to get that it is possible he was abused and also possible he is abusing kids. Also I don’t think she gets that kids that are so young they can’t talk yet are still traumatized by abuse that happened to them- adults have reported having flashbacks and memories popping up and also discovering later behavior stemming from abuse. What happens to a child before they are two greatly impacts their mental health and well being. She needs to get it through her head that he could be abusing her littler ones and if she takes him back she better keep them separated.

Being a teen Mom since the 70's, has been overlooked as to their true state of mind & being. Then there is the culture of ethnicity that is such a fact. There are 2 children that suffers, not just the baby. Social services SHOULD require teens to receive counciling, continued education & on hands training in taking care of newborns with Supervision. Just giving these teens $ assistance & medical care, is NOT enough & counter productive. Statistically, most teens remain on welfare for years at the taxpayers' expense. Just saying. By then, she and her son had been forced to sleep with padlocks on solid wood doors for years. By the time she turned her over to the courts her daughter had destroyed two school classrooms, nearly bit the ear off one police officer and the tip of a finger off of another. When sent to a juvenile facility after the second bite, she disrupted the place so badly they asked the court to remove her! She eventually had 5 children by 5 men, losing custody of all of them. I’ve lost track of her, but 4 of her 5 children are drug addicted and all five of them have children who are wards of the courts.

It's ironic the prosecutor recognizes there's something wrong with the kid yet fails to recognize there's something wrong with himself for wanting to prosecute a very young child offender! Seems to me they both need therapy.
It's unbelievable the state can remove a child from his mother, not because the mother is unfit, but because the child has committed an offense due to emotional and learning challenges. Then, after the kid is out of the home for 22 months because the state has detained him for that length of time, now the state can file to terminate the mom's parental rights. I ask you, who is the *real* perpetrator here? The child with emotional problems or the state child stealers? What a racket!!

When a man does not exercise his parental rights or his court ordered visitation there should be consequences for the adult.

I cant believe he said he didnt care about her. As a mom myself, all that girl needed was someone who cared for her. Someone to love her and support her and tell her she was going to be ok. A complete disgrace. She needed a role model, someone to teach her and support her. She didnt get any of that. The judge doesnt even believe in her. Why would she believe in herself and want to make good choices? Thats going to make her think she is unworthy and not worth the love time and support she deserves. We all make mistakes. She is still young and she can turn her life around. Not saying she hasnt done bad things, I am sure she has. But what does anyone expect? Broken, toxic, chaotic homes make broken, toxic, chaotic kids. I know from experience. Ugh, my heart

That judge shouldn’t be a judge. You don’t say that to someone to someone who’s been unloved their whole life.

Calling a 9 year old a perpetrator like he's a criminal! How absolutely heart breaking! That poor little boy! All of these kids, this judge doesn't need to be dealing with kids and families, he needs to be a criminal judge!

Since this was filmed around 20 years ago does anyone know are these residential facilities still open ?
Or are children with disorders in their family homes where parents are struggling ?

His choice of language is deplorable and disturbing.
'Not while I have control of her' He showed himself in that statement.
