I hope the Lord will open your eyes to see that you two are just like these examples. You are influencing thousands as you teach and guide each one of us and we go forth and share what we learn. You both have changed my life in ways I could never even express. Thank you for being you and allowing the Lord to use you as an instrument in His hands 💜 You two are among my hero’s!! Much love!
While reading Alma 29 the Spirit whispered to my heart that Alma, wanting to proclaim the Gospel to the whole earth, has now through The Book of Mormon gotten his wish in a very real way. The example of his life, experiences, and testimony are being read by millions the world over. He has shared his mission with me, you, and all who are so blessed to be able to read his words. Each of us has become “some soul” in his crown of jewels!
When David said ... he hopes one day to be an instrument in the hands of the Lord, my first thought was, You already are! You and Emily are that bbto all that look forward weekly to your online class. I am a Grandma who has learned so much from you both. May Heavenly Father bless you for your efforts to do this work in His service. 🥰
"And don't you just Love" how many times Emilie says ...." and don't you just love"... Instead of calling this " Dont Miss This...You both should call it.....AND DONT YOU JUST LOVE" .... keep up the marvelous work ...and know that we JUST LOVE you both.
I love it when she says, “you love when...” because she is saying she loves it but she knows we will love it. It makes my heart happy when she says that. And I do “love when...”. :)
Fun fact: In his book “The Lincoln Hypothesis,” Timothy Ballard tells that Abraham Lincoln checked out a Book of Mormon from the Library of Congress and had it several months. After that, phrases similar to “make me an instrument” appear in Lincoln’s writings and speeches.
Love you both! Thank you for your invaluable service! Forty years ago my daughter said her first prayer: "Hot-diggity-dog-diggity-Boom-what-ya-do-to-me, in Jesus Name, Amen." (A popular Oscar Meyer wiener TV commercial, at the time...). Then she smiled, broadly, at those at the table - and none of us have ever been the same! First prayers are from the best!
I LOVE how much David and Emily love the scriptures. I don’t think she could even teach without letting us know her LOVE for them. I enjoy this every week.
I love how David quoted David O. McKay with "The greatest battles are fought within the confines of the human soul" and how he pointed out that "therefore, the greatest victories are won within the confines of the human soul." That is so beautiful and really spoke to me! Thank you David!!
Thanks for your dedication to "Don't Miss This." I find it to be very inspiring and nourishing to my soul. Your insights of your scripture study have brought me so much enlightenment. Last time we took a trip to Utah I bought your book that explores one verse from each chapter. I already love y'all so much, but now I love you even more! 💜 I tell everyone one if you are Missing This, you're Missing Out! Lol Thanks again for being such wonderful kingdom builders! 😀
David & Emily, An important part and the foundation of the Anti-Nephi- Leni's conversion was that they were "Converted unto the Lord" Note how many times this phrase is mentioned in this Scripture Block ( Ama 22:23, 23:6,8,,13 24:6 etc). WHY? How many times do we see that new converts were converted to "The Missionaries, program of the church, social structure etc then sadly FALL AWAY? I believe the reason this chosen people of the Lord "NEVER DID FALL AWAY" (23:6) is that they were "Converted unto the LORD" I think there is a great lesson here for us as we Liken the Scriptures unto our selves !! Conversely, we may ask ourselves, What are the Weapons of OUR Rebellion? Shall we not bury our Pride, Selfishness, Disobedience etc.
I love at the end when you (Emily) says "two great weeks in a row". lol!!! Every week with you two is great!! Thank you for doing this amazing channel!!
I love at the beginning how they were talking about how each of the thousands of converts had their own personal conversion story. I noticed this time around in Alma 23:14 that it says "the Amalekites were not converted, save only *one*" Man, I'd love to hear his story!
@emilybellefreeman @davidbutler I absolutely love listening and learning from you. While you're teaching your seminary and institute class please think of my dear daughter. She had a very rough senior year. Graduated from seminary only because she took the special needs children to class and had to fight for their rights there. Moves onto college and ends up rooming with nonmembers or inactives. She did not know them, but she went to institute. My first child who chose to go. While in the class the teacher focused on experiences from everyone's mission. She was very uncomfortable because she hadn't been on a mission. When it came her turn, she made up a story, left and didn't go back. Please don't let this happen to your students. Thank you for everything you do!
First of all your videos have changed my life, absolutely love everything about them!! Please never stop!! But I have to ask even though I am quite embarrassed to bring this up, Emily where do you get your darling clothes???
Part of the Amulon's and the Amelicite teachings was the language of the Nephites. So as the sons of Mosiah teach they help cement this language learning. With a common language there is probably more interaction between these two cultures. That and the teaching of the Nehors creates a situation where the Lamanites want to subject the Nephites to grow ever richer.
Our family loves your “sharing” of the scriptures!! Could I provide feedback? When speaking about scriptures, we can get lost as you reference, could you add on the screen what scripture you are speaking about? Thank you!! We love you guys! - Aguirre Family
Love this episode, thank you Emily and David. Your videos help me SO much understand the scriptures then in turn with my scripture confidence. I can't thank you enough for all the work you do and the spirit you bring. I would like to know the conference talk by Elder Erying that Emily referenced. Anybody know which on that is?
The Lord saw it all coming. He planned for it, step by step, as He has done with other changes in His Church. He has raised up and prepared faithful people who choose to do hard things well He Goes before Us By President Henry B. Eyring
Thank you for finding the quote and sharing it. I also realized that back in Mosiah 24: 4-7 we get to see the beginning of the process of the Lord raising up the Lamanites when the brethren of Amulon teach them to read and write. So when Ammon came and opened up the scriptures to King Lamoni he could read them for himself.
We have Christ in our image... often used in scriptures, talks, etc. When we are truly converted we have 'His image'... Hugh Nibley taught this: ANTI in the IndoEuropean root means 'in the face of or facing, as one faces a mirror, one who imitates - those who imitated righteousness. So we see the true meaning of their name; Anti-Nephi-Lehies, no longer Lamanites. Anti in this definition is not the negative connotation we often think of as an opposing meaning.
The History of "Bury the hatchet" phrase originated in Native American (Ohio Valley to New England) culture. Goes along well with our Come Follow Me lesson this week. adventuresinhistoryland.com/2013/06/04/burying-the-hatchet/
My mission President gave us paper swords to write our rebellion on...then he gathered them, then we went and buried them in the mission home's yard. My grandson will be going on his mission in August unedowed😭 I want him to write on his sword what will keep him strong and help him to never fall away! Because he won't have the power of temple ordinances with him😭

Most people who watch Dave and Emily do so because of their passion (their LOVE) for Christ and for the scriptures. It just wouldn't be the same without that!! "Love is the only weapon that actually worked" ❤️❤️❤️ I want to carry this with me today and always.
I “ LOVE THESE LESSONS” Thank you both for making these scriptures so much easier to understand ! All the way to 2020 😷 Australia 🇦🇺
Thank you so much! I can’t even begin to tell you what a blessing you both are in my life!
Thank you for showing up and sharing your hearts and testimonies.
Just wanted to say thank you for your challenge this week. You inspired me to do something that should have been said 4 years ago.
Love when Emily says "A life with God is a life with Miracles!" So powerful and so true♥️
Another amazing lesson. A lovely way to end my Sabbath day. Thank you so much.

You guys are great. You make things more meaningfully to me. I aloof forward to listing to you each Monday.
I LOVED this lesson. Also loved the reminder--one of God's favorites (Alma 27:30) and He loves my soul (Alma 24:14). Loved it--beautiful lesson.
