Christopher Patch , I think you should be one of the heroes of the summer! You have helped us go back to parts of the lesson that we want to hone in on! Very important work you are doing to support what Emily and David are doing!
I love you guys!!! Little did I know when I invested in this curriculum did I know that I was going to be studying all alone and be so lonely. I feel like you are my friends and that I get to have wonderful gospel discussion with you and it's funny how I think something and then you answer it and go to a scripture that leads me to my answer. Thank you. thank you. You are my church and anchor for a minute while I figure all of the out!!!
Both I and my sister have agreed how amazing the Book of Mormon is and what a gift it is for our times. As we've been experiencing problems in our country that coincides amazingly with the study of the Book of Mormon-the problems their culture was experiencing. Such a specific guide it is to help us in our daily struggles. What a wonderful gift the Book of Mormon it is to help us through these similar scenes. We are truly loved by our God!
Thank you so much, David and Emily, for doing these videos! I especially loved this week's lesson (Alma 39-42). I watched it over again a couple of times and took so many notes because I wanted to remember your beautiful insights about redemption, restoration, reclaiming, mercy and rescue. Thankfully I recently bought a Journal edition of the Book of Mormon so I can have room to write on the sides, top and bottom of the pages so I can read my notes right there, rather than having to find them in a notebook somewhere. Thank you for pointing out that The Plan of Happiness, Redemption, etc. is really JESUS. HE IS THE PLAN! and that once we turn our hearts to Him, everything else will fall into place! I just love all your insights and personal experiences. The scriptures have come alive to me more than ever since listening to you.
Let me just say...in my 40+ yrs in the Church I have had good teachers & great teachers...both y'all...are just so amazing!! I sincerely feel so uplifted each time I "study" with y'all. Just outstanding. thanks for all your uplifting comments & words...OH &&& Bro. Butler...NO you don't look like a tree!!! Well, the hair maybe...LOLOLOL...God bless, b safe...
I noticed something as I was studying Alma 63:1-2. I suddenly realized who "his brother" was! It made me so happy to realize that Corianton had turned himself around, repented, and become known as a just man, who did good continually and kept the commandments of God! That is so great!! Thank you for your broadcasts! I love them!
Thank you so much for the time spent on come follow me. I watch it every Sunday. It has been a life saver for me during this time of Covid. I will continue to watch Don’t Miss This every week. I read and study during the week come follow me, student study guide on the Book of Mormon, and the Book of Mormon each week. Your show brings all of what I read to closure of my studying. It’s amazing and I tell everyone I to watch Don’t Miss This! Thank you
Thanks for another great Sunday morning gospel doctrine lesson! :) I love watching your discussions each week. I have learned some wonderful things from the two of you. Your knowledge is greatly appreciated. I tell my kids that I am watching my friends when I have you on! It is nice to have this source of light during a time when so much of the world is full of darkness.
I have come to love both of you and your lessons and the Book of Mormon and especially Jesus so much as I have studied with you both!! Thank you a million times over for sharing your love of Him this way with all of us and helping my love for the Book of Mormon and for Jesus to grow. 💓 and by the way, some of the negative comments on here I feel sad about that people feel the need to pick at you both or be critical. Please don't take them to heart! I find you both completely endearing. Please keep being exactly who you are and doing you 🥰
I have been trying to work out “the wrath of God” and trying to reconcile it with a God of love for awhile now. Today your explanation of the Law punishing and not God was such an “aha” moment for me. It gave me a place to start from. I can’t wait until the Old Testament - there’s so much drama and it seems like the wrath of God is so much more present... Ya’ll are inspiring!
You know, I was blessed to teach adult class for 4 years and it was wonderful for me because I did a lot of research :) The New Testament has always been my favourite book(s) of scripture, but I was amazed with the Old Testament! All I got from it was love..... Also, you can check out how often the heart is mentioned :)
You two are so great! My husband and I started following your lessons when the pandemic started and they've been a highlight of our Sabbath day. Your insight, testimonies, and humor have helped me so much! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing these fantastic presentations!!👏
Thank you for doing these videos. It feels my cup and I love listening to you lessons. I feel your love for the gospel and our savior in your lessons. I absolutely love how excited you are to share the gospel. The lessons have brought up things I have never thought of on my own and sometimes I wish I could just be sitting in the room talking with you. Anyways the lord is good . Thanks again for doing these videos.
I so enjoy your lessons. It helps me to get more depth out of my scripture study. I also find your interactions very entertaining and up lifting. You bring sunshine into my day! :-)
As you talk about Alma "wondering", I will always remember the Face to Face with Elder Holland and President Eyring in August 2017 when Elder Holland discussed Moroni 8:26 and he talked about how "he had wondered about that for 30 years"--and he explains how "we've just been swept right into the Celestial Kingdom here on the strength of the Atonement of Christ because it made us meek, it made us lowly, it made us grateful, it made us know somebody helped us, and that brings the Holy Ghost." (Those notes are in my scriptures and I am so grateful for his explanation.) I don't know why I was so amazed that he actually thought about that for 30 years. It made me feel I should think more deeply about things.
I came across your site by accident but I’m hooked. You two really make studying the scriptures exciting and informative. I have learned a lot from you both. Thank you for all you do.
Aloha Friday to y’all too! 😃. Thank you for this week lesson again. Always walk away inspired after watching your weekly CFM lesson. Have a good week and stay safe.
I'm able to watch these at work during slow times on the phone! This is helpful to me! Thank you for your efforts, because I know you both are doing this for us!
Love this lesson!! Every part! It really resonated with me. I can’t wait to share your insights with my family. Even had my own real life epiphany! Thk u!!!❤️
Maybe the parenting style of Alma the younger was that he was reminding his son about the love and example of his brothers who he may have looked up to. Maybe that approach was what was needed for that child. I think he lovingly asks him, “did you not see their examples?” I have 2 older sons and one younger one and we have often asked our youngest what he has seen in their lives. Good and bad. What can you see and change in your life? Is a great question. In this case it sounds like they were companions. Did your companion lead you that way? Whether it was brother or not. He was making sure that his actions were his and not to be blamed someone else...which is pretty common in these situations.
Well I think that Corianton wanted to know about the Resurrection because of the Zoramites belief. Corianton was listening to the Zoramites and he was confused about that. That’s what I thought... because all his concerns were related to Zoramites culture.
Love your lessons, and I appreciate the help it gives me to teach the Zoom SS class when it's my turn. I know it's not easy to bring joy and share your heart every time you doa video, especially in this difficult time, but I am happy that you both dig deep and share your lives and stories. P.S. Love the "tree" shirt, love the top buttoned up, keep the faith.
I really enjoy watching your videos. I was wondering if at the end of your lesson, if you could add time to the video for us to able to see and copy the board? Whenever i pause the video the screen goes dark and i can’t see the board. Thanks!!
You spoke of the Restoration by comparing it to restoring a piece of furniture using a piece of sand paper. Likewise, our restoration will be slow and can be painful.
Wow, i am glad i will have an entire week to digest all of this. Epic. A thought: Alma 39:11 perhaps some people would not believe the words of his own father because of what he (Alma the younger) was doing in his youth with the Sons of Mosiah. Ouch!
I know you both didn’t care for the way Alma began his advice to Corianton, but I think you skipped over a big piece of why he fell into sin. The first thing Alma taught him was that he was boasting in his own strength and wisdom. Pride was foremost in Alma’s mind and might have been the reason Corianton didn’t heed his fathers words.
I really enjoy your perspectives especially when I was teaching primary. One suggestion, I would enjoy it more if you used other descriptive word besides "I love this"
For me, I love that they use the words"I love this" so much. When this Covid 19 finally abates I'll look back over the notes I have made from these lessons and the over-riding feeling I hope to have is that David and Emily inspired me to love the Book of Mormon in a deeper way than before.
I was very disappointed when you criticized Alma for his parenting technique. It seems to me that his approach was very much in harmony with counsel given in D&C 121. Alma certainly reproved with sharpness when moved upon by the spirit. He was not afraid to address the seriousness of Corianton's mistakes. But afterward, Alma certainly showed an increased measure of love as he taught Corianton and sent him back out to teach the gospel.
Hey guys! Love your program! So many wonderful insights. One question: Brother Butler, can you, like, try and like refrain from like saying the word “like” so much? Like sometimes it sounds like we are listening to like a teenage girl! Just giving you a hard time! Love your show! Like, keep up the good work!😉

In what scripture is the reference that you are talking about: God turns things for Joseph for his good.?
It might be Genesis 39:23, which Joseph is imprisoned but we know that the Lord turns Joseph's imprisonment into something good.
What does MMLX stand for? I thought it was Roman numerals but that would be 2060 and MMXX would be 2020
It is for 2060... it represents the 2060 young men in Helaman's army.
It is also a representation of symbols of numbers from the time of the Book of Mormon
Remind me what MMLX stands for?
The 2060 men in Helamans army.
Do we know what access members had to the scriptures at the time of Alma?
Where does the definition "By all means" come from to describe Redeemer?
I'm watching on saturday🤣😂
