So it all started when they tried to make a Black Panther movie, and now Black Panther is the last film released before Avengers Infinity War ties it all together. Poetic.
Good to see that all their efforts to make a Black Panther film weren't in vain, as it led to success in the long run. And the Black Panther movie we did get was amazing and enjoyable and I highly hope for a sequel.
While we're on the subject of movies and shows of (current) Disney properties that were never made, will you ever discuss the Gargoyle spinoffs that were never made?
i commend marvel for try their best to utilize with what they had in the past and believing in their stories full of vibrant colors and different flavors of excitement to up the ante. This is the reason why I feel marvel is so successful today.
While the pitched film never happened, some of T'Challa's arc sounds pretty similar to the story of the films villain, Killmonger. growing up apart from Wakanda and returning decades later to fulfill his destiny. kinda interesting if you think about it.
Little known fact...In 1972, Marvel changed the name of the character from the Black Panther to the Black Leopard (In Fantastic Four # 119) to prevent any political controversy in regards to the Black Panther party. They changed it back a year later when he got his own series in 1973, because everyone hated the new name.
I like to think that this whole history of Black Panther almost been made in the 90's was the greatest comeback story for Marvel to come back from the ashes with Blade, continuing with X-Men, had the spotlight on Spider-Man and create the MCU that we all now and love, I love Marvel and I will continue to be loyal to them because their story of redemption and comeback is inspiring all thanks to a Wesley Snipes ambition and the Marvel Comic Book Boom.
Jack Black being Green Lantern isn't bad idea, but they should never cast him as Hal, Kyle or Guy, make a new character be a loser and something relatable similar to Kyle.
if this happened then we still would have got Blade....but it would have been either Denzel Washington, or Laurence Fishburne. Now I imagine that Denzel would bring some emotional weight and even charm to Blade's tragic life, but I think Fishburn would have brought some intensity, but not to the level of Snipe's indimitating. Snipes was the perfect choice and the charecter got an overhaul in the comics to resemble the movie version.
I knew about 1/5 of all this. Definitely about Snipes and him set to be the original Panther. I was hoping that he'd have gotten a cameo in the new one, even as a nod. Oh, well. Definitely appreciate the fact that it was done now and not done back then. It could have been decent, but it wouldn't have been anywhere near as cool as what we got now.
Great video! It was very interesting to hear about the failed attempt to make the Black Panther movie back in the 90's. Ultimately though, I have to admit to not being disappointed with what happened. While the plot sounded very interesting, it also seemed very similar to many other stories that were coming out around the time and would probably have been lost in the shuffle with the others. On a different note, I only just realised that there's a strong similarity between the origin of Black Panther and the Phantom by Lee Falk. Both are about heroes based somewhere in Africa, both are leaders/kings of their respective surroundings and both have a tradition of having family members being the titular hero, making them seem legendary. Funny how things that seem obvious in hindsight don't become that until you really think about it :) Keep up the great videos :)
While I agree, I think I wasn't that clear in the original post. I was talking about the whole "baby in the water and being brought up by another family" story. Sorry if I'm wrong here though.
Top 3 favorite E-Rod characters: El Lover, E- Rod, and Crazy E-Rod. Reasons: I personally feel like a combo of those three. Comment Your favorites below plus your reasoning.
Well that more depends if the "effects didn't exist yet" then how did Blade get off the ground? That was two or four years later. Just saying. I think it would have been possible but tricky to make a Black Panther film in the 90's
Keep in mind we're talking about Wakanda, which is very advanced. I imagine if they went with anything other than the "moses" story, it would have needed at least Phantom Menace visual technology.
I think its good that they did BP movie today because MCU needs such key role character. Moreover, they've got nothing to worry about. We'll see it anyway. (Sorry for my English. It's not that good but I at least tried).
While the Black Panther has had a bunch of long term love interests, Storm was no one of them. They barely had any interaction in the comics before they were suddenly married.
I think a black panther movie back then would not have aged well and might have butchered the story. I am glad they gave it a shot and really happy snipes didn’t just try and put anything out. Blade turned out to be a pretty good movie and started the comic movie boom. And for all that I am definitely grateful
I know its technically not a fandom, but I wonder if you can find anything interesting on "The Amazing Screw-On Head" it was created by the creator of Hellboy, and i think its one of the greatest pilots I've ever seen, but somehow thats all there is of it.
me i feel it was best we waited to get black panther beacuse back in the 90s it would cost to much i mean people bitch about the CGI in the black panther movie we got but any non CGI effect that would been used would looked even more silly
i think the film about civil rights movement isn't black panther but the other more accurate film doesn't sound all that good either because of how generic it is
WTH EROD!!!!???? WHY WOULD IT TAKE YOU 4 MONTHS TO RELEASE ANOTHER LOF EPISODE!!!!???? Also, it makes no sense for Marvel "owned by Toy Biz at the time" to sell the movie rights for Blade to New Line Cinema which was owned by Warner Bros & who do they own? DETECTIVE COMICS!!!!! If Mirage Comics refused to allow a competitor to make a profit on 1 of their own properties at the same time (Hence the reason why we didn't get TMNT 4 "something you refused to mention in Episode 1!") then why would Marvel grant them such an opportunity? Were they really that desperate to get out of bankruptcy? Then why didn't Warner Bros just buy out Marvel & merge them with Detective then? Because Toy Biz didn't want to sell them or because the Feds would cancel the transaction? It doesn't matter for now we have 3 Blade Movies that aren't even canon in the Legends Universe because Disney said so! So that means Wesley Snipes played Blade for NOTHING!!!!
Now this makes no sense at all, why? Because you released this video 4 months late, yes.... I checked all the upload dates of your 1st 8 episodes. They were originally uploaded in pairs, once a month. Then it became 1 episode per month, then you have the 4 month delay here. & then you finally canceled the show without any warning at all, then bring it back 5 years later like nothing happened at all!!!!! If I did a show with this pattern, I wouldn't have ignored the large time gap -> like you did! Upvote this comment, if you want to sue ERod.... for making us wait 5 years -> just to watch 1 video, that should've been released in December 2267 RE!😊 #SueERod!!
African empire? Last I recall Egypt wasn't black, it had black slaves sure, but blacks were not in charge of it. And please spare the "we wuz kangz" tier replies.
Nowhere was Eqypt mentioned. There were many African empires. Aksum, Mali and Songhai notable for example. Here are others en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African_empires
Egypt IS in Africa, did you fail at geography? Also that thing you gave me can hardly qualify any of them as an "empire". Sure there were bigger settlements with a hierarchy but you are mocking the word empire if you think mudhuts and people with spears count as an empire.
I said nobody mentioned Eqypt here. So you bringing it up like someone had said it was a black Empire was irrelevant. And you hardly are the judge of what is an empire and you really lack knowledge if you think they were mudhuts and spears. Why you are opposed of actually learning?
And like I said Egypt is STILL part of Africa. Empires tend to create something that can withstand the test of time, if you ask a person who paid attention at history class they can say things about the Roman/Persian/Ottoman/British empires, while I can tell you for a 99.9% certainty that nobody has heard of those "empires" in Africa. I have nothing against learning, but there is a difference between learning history and overglorifying a continent that has quite a challanged understanding of things. For Christ's sake Africa didn't even invent the wheel until recently a tribe did, in the mean time the rest of the world did basically everything under the sun they could. People tend to pull the "but muh colonialism" excuse as if it was a legit argument (which it isn't). Africa has a lot of resources yes, but the people living there are not the brightest to utilize what they have, them lying to themselves won't change that fact.
So it all started when they tried to make a Black Panther movie, and now Black Panther is the last film released before Avengers Infinity War ties it all together. Poetic.
Now probably is the best time for the film to be made. I still hope in the sequel Wesley Snipes pops up even if it's a small role.
This made me enjoy the Black Panther film even more.
Good to see that all their efforts to make a Black Panther film weren't in vain, as it led to success in the long run. And the Black Panther movie we did get was amazing and enjoyable and I highly hope for a sequel.

The Black Panther movie we got Is a good movie with great commentary and acting but this will have been interesting to see.
i commend marvel for try their best to utilize with what they had in the past and believing in their stories full of vibrant colors and different flavors of excitement to up the ante. This is the reason why I feel marvel is so successful today.
I really wish marvel make their own version of blade already. I’m all for a tv series if they can pull it off.
Seconded!
Who should play the new Blade?
Daniel Lado you didn't know there's Blade TV series at spike tv?
Arsya Utomo Yes I know. But so did Flash but they made another one. Thing is, comic heroes are always retold in a new way.
I am not a great fan of it.

E-Rod, it's been a sight for sore eyes revisiting your videos.

How about the Jack Black Green Lantern movie? That'd make a great episode.
Already sounds better than the actual Green Lantern movie.
ajmrowland trust me. No it doesn’t. I don’t like that movie either but when I found out what it could have been...
That sounds too crazy not to actually exist.
Jack Black being Green Lantern isn't bad idea, but they should never cast him as Hal, Kyle or Guy, make a new character be a loser and something relatable similar to Kyle.
Azoz Azoz that’s what was gonna happen.
the line "Dude, where are the toys!?" actually broke me. It's an example where common sense looks at social justice ages before tumblr
0:49 SERIOUSLY?!?
I'd love to see Snipes appear in the next Black Panther movie.
This is a great video.
Dear ERod
Is it possible that we might someday get a Blade/Black Panther Team-Up Movie?
Sincerely,
John Ivan Taro

Rest In Peace Chadwick Boseman. 😢😭
Legends of Fandom - Justice League Mortal
I second this motion.
Great video!

Agreed as feels like the Civil Rights Movement it's happening once again but not just with African Americans book with all people.

It would have been a little campy but what have worked out.
Keep in mind we're talking about Wakanda, which is very advanced. I imagine if they went with anything other than the "moses" story, it would have needed at least Phantom Menace visual technology.
Yeah ajmrowland is right. Blade was taking place in USA. So they didn't needed much effects. But Wakanda is vastly different.
Never forget, this Golden Age of comic book movies is mostly due to the first "Blade" movie, which opened the door.
jediarco
You bet it is.
I think its good that they did BP movie today because MCU needs such key role character. Moreover, they've got nothing to worry about. We'll see it anyway. (Sorry for my English. It's not that good but I at least tried).
Илья Шульга Not to mention better movie technology exists nowadays .
A worlds about to break.... i standed on my own but bow im not alone
How Did This Not Get Made just did an episode on this movie.
You should make a video on Terry Gilliam's Watchmen!
Can you do legends of fandom e.t 2 nocturnal fears?
Black Panther coming out now has accidentally become something that boarders of revolutionary
James Cameron spiderman or amazing spiderman 3 or spectacular spiderman season 3
Black Panther isn't African American, He's African.
Can you do a legends of Fandom about canons spiderman?
Hey ERod. can you do Legends of Fandom for the cancelled 2011 Wonder Woman series?
Talk about the Green Arrow Movie known ad "Escape from Alchemax"
Wakanda forever
Can you do a video on James Cameron's Spiderman?
Based on this Snipes really cared of the film. Maybe he could have some role to play in the sequel. And should have been in this one already.
Huh oh interesting very interesting how interesting
I think Tupac Shakur should've been 90s N'Jadaka/ Erik Killmonger
Erod, please talk about the original script for Pacific Rim: Uprising.
Dude you should totally do the cancelled David S. Goyer penned Green Arrow Escape from Super Max!
Legends of Fandom idea: The Gargoyles spin-offs. While many didn't fully make it, one did get a comic book called Bad Guys.
Bill Murray as Bruce Wayne and Robin Williams (RIP) as the JOKER
While the Black Panther has had a bunch of long term love interests, Storm was no one of them. They barely had any interaction in the comics before they were suddenly married.
you know the way
How about Mike Magnola's The Amazing Screw-On Head animated pilot ?
I think it's better that they made a movie that appears to be closer to the source material rather than do another Moses story.
Can you please do Godzilla movie next.
I think a black panther movie back then would not have aged well and might have butchered the story. I am glad they gave it a shot and really happy snipes didn’t just try and put anything out. Blade turned out to be a pretty good movie and started the comic movie boom. And for all that I am definitely grateful

wasn't there another superhero movie starring Wesley Snipes?
What about reviewing for your next Legends of Fantom the un-made Woody TV series after the second Toy Story?
Alright, I'm not the only one that thinks that if it wasn't for Blade, there wouldn't be a marvel cinematic universe.
coldmaster613 Actually if Disney didn’t buy them out there wouldn’t be a cinematic universe .
I know I'm gonna regret this, but what about the unmade Batman Unchained. I know it's dumb, but I would like to hear the legend of this...... thing.
George Romero's Resident Evil?
How about a legends of fandom on the cancelled 2001 CGI Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon and James Cameron's Spider-Man?
SINERGIA
i still dont get why he stands infront of a green screen when he owns all that stuff
Snipes would've been definitive, even more than he is for Blade
Do James Cameron Spider-Man please!!!
Fate Lies in irony
me i feel it was best we waited to get black panther beacuse back in the 90s it would cost to much
i mean people bitch about the CGI in the black panther movie we got but any non CGI effect that would been used would looked even more silly
oh come black panther not in avengers assemble tv show
Since you love Hellboy so much, why don't you just make the 9th episode off of the cancelled Hellboy 3?!!!
Still a chance snipes could be in a marvel movie since they are grabbing good stars.
Snipes should've played T'Chakka (sp?) in Civil War...
I believe he may have found it a bit too taxing a role.
Idris Elba .
Batzarro
Yeah, he is kinda old for this. Make an omage and have him play the 1st Black Panther who aids T'Challa in his next trial.
how about all the gargoyle spin-offs that the creator wanted to make
Blockbust the 1997 J.S.A pilot
Huh, I never really realized the superhero Black Panther shared a name with the Black Panther hate group. That is unfortunate.
i think the film about civil rights movement isn't black panther but the other more accurate film doesn't sound all that good either because of how generic it is

I love the bible connections
I would have preferred Idris Elba.
I tried watching Blade on cable, it wasn't for me. I think Black Panther being delayed was for the best.
