I don't know if you knew it, but Sergio Leone actually used to play the song / soundtrack by Ennio Morricone on set to make the actors actually feel the vibes of the future film! With the light at daylight, as I understand it, is that by daylight without light your subjects are underexposed, soy you crank up the iso, which makes the background look blown out. By adding light, you can set the iso much lower and your subject won't be underexposed due to the source light. I believe I understood the point here. Very good tip indeed which I admit I did not think of.

Side question. I just watched a few old episodes of Anthony Bourdain’s Parts Unknown and I noticed that there were no questions, backstory, conflicts & resolutions to the episodes.
Am I right or did I miss it?

Quick question: I think we are all facing new challenges with clients and social media. You mentioned that the client was about to use this footage for (probably) Instagram / FB ads. How do you include this dimension to your work ? Because, of course, in cinemascope, the footage looks awesome, but sometimes, when you have to edit the whole thing for vertical format, it changes everything... Thanks in advance for your input :)

Mark amazing video!!! What would add value to my life, “what are your favorite questions to ask clients to get exactly what they are trying to explain in the commercial?” All too often when I speak with clients they want to talk about cinematic and sexy etc., but that’s not actually what brings in new business for them and sells their product. Sometimes I have a hard time teasing out the answers from them it would be great to know what your go to questions are. Thanks!!!

    "Low budget"
Starts video with a $10,000+ of equipment and a crew.

Lol. Most commercials start at $100K so depending how you look at it, this is a low budget. But then again, any term used for measurement is relative

@@markbone that's may be true, I just think most people interested in learning about a "low budget" commercial shoot are expecting an actual low budget as it relates to the common person. For example, a one man band with minimal equipment rather than an entire production crew lol. I get that cost is relative, but most people aren't established commercial videographers getting 10k+ gigs on the regular. The video was cool, it just leaves a bad taste in the mouth and feels slightly arrogant/insulting to hear someone call something like this low budget when it's 1/3 of a lot of people's yearly income lmao.
Again, cool video, just a little misleading imo, which isn't worth much.
