    I put it in parallel on my drum bus at 70% and I can hit it hard and maintain low end. Love it!

    I been saying it for a while now but this is gonna be my first outboard compressor. I was planning to have one already but I just got a Chandler TG-2, I needed a couple preamps badly. This is next though

    Does anyone know why the DBX 160 vu amplifies certain transients and s,z,sh,p,k,t sounds in vocals!? is the attack too slow for hard rap vocals? (Dr.Dre used this comp to track vocals for Eminem, D12, G-Unit, Snoop, The Game, etc.) The track doesn't look more balanced after compression, but certain peaks stand out strongly. The track still looks pretty dynamic after compression.
