Hey Chris. Hope this helps someone..... I use about 90 channels of hardware and render in place would take me forever. I've developed a bus system that is pretty slick. I have about 30 output tracks, output set to not connected, and use them as buses. Send a track with hardware to a bus track and create a new audio track. Set the new track's input to the output bus track with hardware. Arm the new track and your listening to the original track with hardware. I can have 30 or so tracks like this and hit record once and record all tracks with hardware 1 time. i put the original tracks in a folder and disable them. I like to mix with hardware in context so I do a pre mix session where I use tons of hardware. Once rerecorded, I place a few pieces, connected to a Liason, on the mix bus and that's it for hardware. Recall is a breeze. Pretty phenomenal I think.
Great description for this for whole sessions - premixing sessions are vital in the hybrid world, and way more interesting than hearing Andrew Scheps go on and on one more time why ITB is the only way for everyone else.
From Cubase Ver 1 to 5 VST..... Then Logic... Simply, Ive been collecting 3rd party plugs to be able to move wherever ... This is something logic has had for a while..... And now realising this is a function in Cubase... Its simply in the lead of DAWS im considering moving to....... Well.. Back ... ;)
Now if only you could time delay sync all external fx (analog gear) at once, be able to turn alll external fx on/off with one button and also save normal size pictures with the analog external effect window (would make recall a lot easier as well).
Hi Chris I always asking myself why your cubase look so nice so what pc monitor are you using. Please accept my apologies for asking a question that is out of this video.
You disable other plugins on the bass track before rendering. So your bass render is going to sound different than the way it did with plug-ins on. Even if you re-insert them on your rendered track their effect will come after your committed analog processing and thus effect the tone differently. Am I missing something?
Hello Chris, anytime I load some plugins such as slate and ozone 8 in my cubase project the project pauses or beaks . It only plays when I take the plug-in off
Chris, this is off subject, but what type of stand are you using to mount your two monitors above each other. What a great SpaceSaver, and also on the eyes. Would you purchase something like that?
Yeah, I'm going back to committing to ... hard drive, too, like in the olden tape days! Stop postponing decisions, ppl !!! Good is good enough most of the time.

If there's several hardware involved, that is a fantastic idea. Thanks for sharing your process, it will help for sure! 🔥🔥🔥
Let's get a video on this if you or Chris can. Some older folks need visual aid to learn how this is done. thx

Appreciate the video Chris! This gave me some ideas for how to better manage analog processing in my hybrid workflow. Cheers and happy new year :)
That's great! I'm glad it was helpful!
Hey Chris, great video! Very interesting!, thank you!
Question, does your course focus on the latest version of Cubase?
My Cubase course covers Cubase 9.5 to 12, and I will add C13 videos this coming month
Very cool, I will implement this feature immediately! Many thanks.
Glad it was helpful!

This feature has also been in Cubase for a while...You'll love it if you make it back :)
Cool tip, thanks for sharing ! I do almost the same but why keep an extra track when I can use versions. 🙂

Awesome! Thank you for this!
My pleasure!
excelent data my friend!
Thank you! Cheers!

Thanks!

Cubase is awesome. Way better than pro tools.

Thanks for the reply.
Ei Chris! Can you please buy a new Rack Furniture please? kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk :) Joking. Well, but you need it... Awesome work! Cheers from Portugal.
😅😅 I know you're joking but you're right, my studio furniture is very bad looking... It's in my plans to change that in the near future 👍

Cubase, best
For sure!
Whats the name of the song u used when u played the bass.
That's my new single coming out very soon
Πραγματικά αναρωτιέμαι....Ένας άνθρωπος, με τόσα projects ηχογραφήσεων που έχει καθημερινά, πότε βρίσκει τον χρόνο να κάνει τόσα βίντεο?
i remember that the render give me stereo version after render... now is mono if is mono the first original???😮
Render in Place will export the same as the channel configuration is to begin with. My bass channel was a mono channel, so RIP exported it in mono
this was already in cb12
Of course it was, and even in older Cubase versions... Did you assume I was talking about a new Cubase 13 feature?
Anybody have issues with 12 and 13 crashing and freezing all the time??

Committing is key!
So my friend, what you are basically saying is that you using a feature that is pretty much the same as Layers in Studio One. Ok got ya...
