I bought one of the early Trekz Air AfterShockz headphones and I *love* them. I will soon upgrade to the newer model that comes in different sizes so they fit my head more closely. I wear them when I'm doing stuff around the house or walking outdoors or riding a spin bike (not in a class). I like the sound quality (my ears are not as discerning as true audiophiles) and the fact that I can hear what's going on around me or carry on a conversation. I find them excellent for hands-free phone calls. My ears cannot hold earbuds - they pop out b/c I have a small ear canal. And I find earbuds painful after a couple of hours.
I tried the bone conduction an loved them. The only problem is I have significant hearing loss on my right side. Was able to hear on that side for the first time in years.. Do they make a bone conduction device for hearing loss. I am looking at the Walker ear. Do you have any suggestions? Reach me At gary.holladay34@gmail.com. Thank you for any information
No worries. For future headphone reviews for cyclists, I would also include something about how much wind affects the sound going at 30-40+km etc. I found with Aeropex it is hard to hear when there is wind but don't see it as a big issue because I want to be aware when I start to get going anyway...
Fantastic review. This guy knows his shit. So rare to get a reviewer who is genuinely into both tech and fitness. I've had the titanium ones for years. They are great for spoken word, though not worth it for music IMO.
I've also been using the Titaniums for about four years (bought them back when they were $150!), and agree with the prognosis - great for podcasts, but not so great for music. I use them when jogging and when working around the house. The microphone in the titaniums is, at best, mediocre; it lets in tons of background noise and you sound like you're in a cardboard tube when talking on the phone. I was hoping that the Aeropex would do a better job on that part of the problem - the audio sample you recorded sounded decent; how is the background noise cancellation on the Aeropex? Also wanted to mention that the dual-device pairing is very slick on the Trekz Titaniums - I have mine paired with my MacBook and my iPhone, and they do a very good job of seamlessly switching between them (e.g., TH-cam audio on the laptop, switching to a phone call on the iPhone, and back again). Glad to hear that Aftershokz has kept that feature!
I work in a loud shop with welding machines and grinding for 10 hours and company policy that we have to wear in ear hearing plugs, this was my only option for listening to music. so for me this was my only option and though its not like my air pods or headphones, its still better than nothing and makes my 10 hour shift fly by listening to music
The Technology Man were using laser lite right now but a few weeks ago we were using spark plugs. It just depends on what the company orders that’s in stock
This review was ridiculous. Ridiculously good that is. Non-stop useful information, no annoying intros or ads, and even has chapters in the video. I wish every reviewer was this thorough and professional. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for your great review. I have the titanium and use it many hours each day when cycling or moving around the house while listening to podcasts. The only downside of the bone conducting headphones is that around loud noise you don't hear anything. So don't use them for vacuuming as you won't hear above the noise of the vacuum cleaner. When cycling through the city, buses and trucks also will stop you from hearing. A colleague of mine just bought the Aeropex and made the comment he regrets not having bought a bone conducting headphone earlier. I will stick with the Titanium as it works well but I am glad that they are continuously improving their products.
Just bought the Airs for 99$ at a retail store, and I love them. I find myself listening to music with them, even if the fidelity is lacking. I have always had a problem with having something in my ear canal, and find myself removing pods bc of discomfort after a few minutes. Over ear headphones are great for fidelity, but I tire of them quickly. These Airs go on my head, and I often forget they are there. I am a teacher, so I hear more than I want to 6 hours a day. My ears used to be too tired to listen when I got home. The bone conduction doesn't make my ears nearly as tired if that makes sense. Perhaps psychosomatic? Its real to me! Occasionally it seems like the music is originating inside my head. I enjoy the sensation, regardless of fidelity. Great review. I bough them on a whim, thinking $99 was my upper level for spending. I'll find an additional $60 somewhere for the upgrade. Thanks!
Thanks - I think a lot of people don't like the sensation of filling or covering their ears!

A good and clear review, I work on an office where most of the time people look for me at my desk, so using headphone was difficult and now that I found this Aeropex, it is great, I can hear when people around me calls me with out stop hearing music. May be not the best hi fi but good enough than just office noise. For phone calls, it works great.
Thanks Tech Man Im 53 and been running and cycling most of my life and love listening to music when I do and of late podcast's. Back in the day i thought the Sony walkman was unreal but it used endless batteries cables everywhere and it mounted to my hip it was rough ! then came Ipod's, earbuds then cordless but they would slip out of my ear when running and I actually broke one set when it fell from my ear... So i was at Park Run a while back and a friend rolled up with a pair of these and I laughed, I made the comment that she looked like something from Dr Who ! That laugh has now turned into a Grin ! Excellent review, from one runner/cyclist, keep on moving !
Yours is the only review of this type of headphone that compares comfort of the aeropex with the titanium, sound quality and allowed me to hear the call quality. I am looking these only for sport. And may just buy the titanium. I do not like the feeling of buds in my ears or the feeling of them moving on a run. You mentioning the extra comfort of the titanium model surprised me. I happened to try briefly some titanium’s in Costco before the lockdown and found them better than expected. Again many thanks for the effort you made for this review.
Thank you John Collins - really glad you found the review helpful. Still find these bone conduction headphones the best option for running - fit and forget. I always take them if I'm just going to listen to a podcast.
i just bought the Aeropex and your review had a lot to do with it, im a farmer who is always listening to podcast and audio books and dont like ear earphones so was excited to see that these type were available after a day of ownership the only problem is the lack of high volume as some podcast have lesser vol than others but im happy so far , thanks
These are great! I have chronic ear pain and these are the only headphones I can use without pain, downgrading from Bose sadly. The audio quality is definitely not as bad as people make it out to be. Nice review, thanks!
Fyi I work In a big manufacturing plant and since most industrial places require you to wear earplugs for obvious reasons and most places also probably won't allow earbuds for safety reasons. These bad boys definitely come in handy because you can still listen to music and you can still have ear plugs plus they sound a bit better with them in. I have the titanium and am considering upgrading to these mostly due to the band on the titanium irritating the top of my ear where it connects to my head it's mostly from wearing them all day. The battery life on the titanium is amazing they claim 6 hours of use but it lasts me all day and I work 10 hours I guess it depends on the usage and how loud you have them
That is a big advantage! I do find even the Aeropex dig in slightly around the top back of my ear. I don't notice it running because they move around a bit. Bit I do notice at my desk.
@@petrucci619 Would you be able to wear a hard hat though? At first, the desk jockeys didn't say anything about my ear buds, but then they got all testy and started spouting safety nonsense so I can't go that route anymore.
Of the 5 or so reviews watched, yours in the most informative and, as an avid cyclist, the most pertinent. Of note were images of behind the head, the location of buttons, comparison between old model and new, and other wireless earbuds. I have a pair of Aeropex on order - 3 more days. After hearing your experience on the turbo, I’ll give it a go. Thanks 😊
These are great headphones. Versatile and multi-use. Phone quality is surprisingly good. I really like them because I forget they are there. No baggage. The extra battery life is worth the price to me. Music sounds good.
I purchased my current set of Trekz titaniums two years ago, and I am extremely happy with them. I've decided to replace them since the right side is becoming a little distorted. I think that I will be looking into the Aeropex. One of the things that I love about them is I can wear them all day and if need be, I put them around my neck and sometimes forget they are there. It's almost impossible to lose them unlike a expensive set of ear buds that I had in the past. Thanks for the review...
I'm considering replacing my sweat damaged Aftershokz Air by a pair of Aeropex. Sweat would render the play/pause button unusable while I was riding, and the "sweat resistance" was underwhelming. I'm hoping the water resistance of the Aeropex will let it last longer than the one year I had with the Air. In the end, my sweat even got through the glue holding these together. As for sound quality, I was indeed not impressed at first, mostly for music, but after using them extensively while cycling, I'd say they compare more than favorably with high end Bose, or AirPods Pro, as wind noise makes them all sound awful, and in that case, I found they sounded slightly better and held much more reliably over my wet ears. But the open ear concept makes it a unique proposition that has no equal. It also makes it easy to forget you have them on when only using them for alarms/notifications when not using it for sports.
@@TheTechnologyMan Yes, I had initially assumed it was only 1 year, so didn't act on the issues, but by the time I had enough damage, the 2 years were past. My fault.
Thank you for such a clear concise to the point review. What I find perplexing is that no one has reviewed the Winnergear exobone headphones on TH-cam. Not even one! There are so many positive written reviews about exobone headphones. Before forking out a large sum of money for the aftershokz headphones, I would love to see a review on these competitor headphones
They work quite well for jumping rope too. Efficient and informative review! The tickling was quite shocking the first time talking to someone very loud, but I imagine I’ll get used to it
Debated for weeks about buying these recently went for it when they were 10% off. Honestly I think they are fantastic I use them solely for cycling and you can hear everything going on around you as well as some music to accompany your ride. They really do work I could hear a car approaching from behind even into a pretty strong headwind. Sound quality certainly seems good as you say I’m sure my wireless earbuds are better quality but these are more than ample quality for what I want to use them for. They feel like a quality item when in hand and are very comfortable to wear in fact I would forget they were there without the obvious hint of music. A good review also top work.
thorough, precise. thanks. I have the titanium and will be upgrading to aeropex as the old pair doesn't hold a charge the way it used to, but still goes 4-5 hours on a good day
I've watched a number of reviews on the Aeropex over the last week as I'm looking to purchase. A lot have been waffle waffle waffle. Wished I had listen to this review sooner - could have got a lot more work done whilst working from home for one thing. I learnt so much more in your 11m 34s than I did from the rest put together (probably more than an hour in total). Really short and snappy presentation (tick), straight to the point (tick). Have i subscribed? (tick). Keep up the good work Technology Man
I'm a courier and bought them based on this review.great for us, in and out of the van all day so need Bluetooth not tied to the van. It means I can talk to base and do my job safely.
Great review thanks! One thing to note on using in conjunction with ear defenders. I have the titaniums and realised that the induction actually works through over ear defenders as long as the defenders are a shape that allows you to keep the device in place. I presume this would work with the Aeropex too.
I ordered a red pair before I started looking up video reviews. Now waiting for its delivery. At least I know what to expect regarding sound quality so I probably won't get disappointed, but still need some getting used to I believe. I love the open-ear concept as I found it hard to use in-ear headphones or over-ear, both are uncomfortable after half an hour or so. In this respect, I have high hope for Aeropex.
Thanks for the quality review. I enjoyed their Titanium model for cycling for a few years until they recently died after hooking them up to the charger after a sweaty ride. I miss them and I’m looking to replace them. Based on your review, I like the Aeropex. Though your comment of an app and firmware is right on … that multiplayer programming process was mind-numbing!
I've had the Titanium since they came out several years ago and use them mainly to listen to audio books while walking and cycling. I love them but I'm tempted by the Aeropex.
Nice video! One thing that means the areopex are better is the IP67 compliance. I was fine with titaniums until I started doing more indoor zwifting. The extra sweat has fried a couple of titaniums now. Not a problem with the areopex.
Thanks that's interesting. My Aeropex's have faired well too - I'm just a doing a long term review of them. They had a tiny bit of rust on the charging port but otherwise the look pretty good!
What a great review, I have used Aftershoks for some years now. I find both and have both models you mentioned in your video. Having the latest model allows me to work outside without any worries of dropping my ear buds. Mainly I use them in my Landrover as it allows me to hear what I am listening to without any loss in concentration of what is going on around me. I agree on all your sound points, but I would not go back to ear buds again.
This is such a great and informative review video. I am just doing some research into these type of headphones (having currently used standard wired Apple headphones / cheap (and very tinny) wireless headphones. I want to be able to maintain situational awareness and not have to worry about wires, and ear buds falling out. Looks like I will be able to make a more informed decision now that I have watched this video. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful - thank you. These are still my go to headphones for running - you just don't have to think about them once you put them on. I will be testing them against some cheaper Amazon variants when I get a chance!
@@TheTechnologyMan went ahead and purchased them, arrived the next day and they are fantastic! Look forward to trying them out properly when I go fo a run tomorrow though!
There is one aspect which is naturally not mentioned.. I‘ve got Tinnitus and listening to regular headphones often makes the ringing noise louder for a while.. so I‘m amazed by the possibility to bypass the hearing canal and therefore been able to listen to stuff without jeopardizing my ears.
Just picked up the Aeropex today. I cycle and do hours of phone conferencing every day. I'll see how these work for conferencing tomorrow, and cycling.... in spring.
Wow get comparison video! This was exactly what I was looking for! Thankyou. I wish there was a place I could try out the apple and aftershockz product.
Thanks for the review. Was considering these as a gift for my dad. He could use them while cycling but also for watching TV with a BT transmitter. The multipoint behavior sounds like a dealbreaker though.
AweSomeNess PerSoNiFied I am thoroughly enjoying my aeropex & my friend is loving their opencomms . They sound greats & even better if you chose to plug your ears . The calls on both have been crystal clear . I cant hype these enough .
What a great review , you've earned a sub here. I want them predominantly for cycling paired with a Garmin Fenix 6 , i think I'll stick with the Titanium's and go from there as although a visible improvement I can't quite justify the increased price of the Aeropex seeing I tend to cycle on quiet roads in the early morning or later in the evening. Thanks again for the info on this product. 👍
I bought the airs recently. The music quality was not the best. Then I downloaded an equaliser app on my android phone and after flicking through a couple of the presets got the airs absolutely booming with the sound quality almost as good as my in the headphones BUT you have to use them with the ear plugs. Without the earplugs you can't get close enough. I bought the airs cos I've got tinnitus so this setup is perfect for me.
These look interesting, I've been after wireless headphones for a while and bone conduction headphones seem to be the way to go for most situations I'm in. Thanks for the video Gidon 👍
the titanium aftershokz do not factory reset with the press of all buttons :-/ Mine did not come with instructions informing you of the EQ settings. I have used these since August of 2020 without ear plugs and EQ, so I was really disappointed as you could imagine. Now that I know about the EQ I'm totally stoked. Groovy Man!
with open ear you can tell which direction the sound is coming from eg: right ear, upper right lower right . but with transparency mode its only reduced to left ear or right ear , you cant sense where to noise comes from if its from infront or rear of u
Abosolute spot on review. I went out and got one yesterday and I should have listened yo you on the audio for music aspect as it was terrible sounding, worst than a cheap pair of headphones and not worth the upside of the other benefits. If you are heavy podcast listener then you'll be fine but music heads would struggle to bear with the poor audio quality. Returning mine.
Great review Technology man. As a cyclist, podcast/radio listening and gym bunny I have gone all in for bone conduction and effectively replaced my over and in ear headphones. Unfortunately both my Airs and Titaniums snapped in the same place after a while. Though I think this is due to the fact I wear glasses. Fortunately due to the Titanium failure I am in the market for the Aeropex (very excited).
Thank you Eric Banton! I've heard a few reports about these snapping in the comments which is a concern considering their price. So far I've been lucky - the Aeropex are more flexible which should help a bit but only time will tell!
Might now work for your type of cycling, but I used the Titaniums for my bike commute, and they are amazing for that. You can still have awareness of traffic while listening to music or podcasts. Would not use on bus though, they leak a lot of sound and also, there I want more sound isolation.
Had my Titaniums for a few years now and quite fancy the new Aeropex. The biggest negative for me with the Titaniums is that once I get sweaty when running the weight of the neckband makes them dip down at the back until they rest on my neck. I'm worried the Aeropex will only do the same or is that not an issue with them being lighter or maybe having a tighter grip on the sides of the head?
I love mine. I use hearing aids, so using in ear headphones just doesn't appeal to me. Obviously the sound wouldn't compare to in ear headphones, but for what they are the quality is amazing. The base is a little lacking, but the vocals and instrumentals in music sound really clear, to me at least, and the stereo on the headphones is brilliant, so at maximum volume, you still get an immersive experience.
Thanks for this great review. I purchased 2 of the AS800 Aeropex Bone Conduction and my primary use will be with cycling. I find that ear buds are not suitable for that and I can only use one because I need to be aware of my surrounding in traffic. I was also using the headphone with the long cord, but again not practical. I will let you know if I like the bone conduction better, hope it's good for the music. :-) Merci.
Thank you Claudette Carpentier! The only problem you may run into cycling, is wind and traffic noise can swamp what you'll listening too - they aren't quite loud enough for me.
We have a pair of trekz air, two things I really like: 1. With young kids, you can still hear what is going on around the house. 2. No ear covers to fall to bits on you!
Good review. You mentioned that due to the sound leakage you wouldn't use them in an office at over 50% volume. I'm considering getting these specifically for listening to audiobooks at the office. Would you say that I would be able to get the volume loud enough without having to worry about any sound leakage? Thanks
I love these for talking. I can move about and conversate with ease. I can take them with me to friends house or bowling and listen to my music while not ignoring people. I forget sometimes they can't hear what I'm listening to so people look at me odd when my favorite song comes on and I'm getting down with the chorus and I'm looking at them, what you don't know the song? oh right... disappointingly I can't use them at work, but I think it's because they haven't best tested at my work. in a wearhouse where you need to be alert they could make it harder to hear a forklift, plus we have to wear ear plugs so it does make them much louder. great on the bike! I own the bose flagship model and I had one wiggle out on me in the rain, was scary to see it bouncing down the road but it was ok.
long time trekz titanium user. got the aeropex 2 weeks ago. love the fit on the head. the audio is lower then the titanium. the equalization for ear plugs are a down grade. titanium gets clear and loud. the Aeropex keeps to much base and the sound gets muffled with ear pluggs, it could be improved in house in 2 second. the head phones got a clear delay in games and apps so i cant recommend it for use with gaming i would use them for gaming on the phone if the delay got fixed. it cost 3 times as much as the titanium. music loses a bit of base in the aeropex vs titanium i general use. but the audio is good. they need to fix the audio delay in games and apps and the poor eq for ear plugs and the headset would be sort of worth the price. but i do love the fit. a 9 hour work day and i get home forgotten i got them on. not sure eny other headphone can sit on your head with no problem for such a long time like aeropex. the battery time for me is about 18 hours.
battery life update. i would say on avrage you can get out 10 hours. but i had days when i need to charge it after 8 hours so not a full work day. my trekz titanium had a avrage needed to be charged every 3rd day. so they lost at leas 1/2 of the battery run time.
If your TV has a 3.5mm audio output you could purchase a 3.5mm to Bluetooth adapter and then connect your headphones. Although this would override the TV's speakers on most TVs - you'd have to check.
Amazing review. Did you try this at all with the phone in your pocket? I got the new wireless Beats but the connectivity was horrific as soon as I put my phone in my pocket, it cut out every 10 seconds. I'm looking for a replacement
Thank you Emily Hendel! I've used them with my phone in a pocket of my running tights, in an arm band and with an Apple Watch and haven't had any issues.
Hello thanks for the review. I was wondering what you think these would work like for electronic drums considering the fact that you can control the volume of the drums when you play. not like a real drum set. Which is quite loud. Electronic drum sets have a volume knob to control the sound volume. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance. And happy New year 🎉🥳
Hi, I am thinking of getting one these bone conduction headphones, mainly to listen to the TV without disturbing others, and as you mentioned that these headphones doesn’t support APTX LL, what do you think or have you actually tried them with a TV in terms of latency and Lip sync. Btw, your review and the detailed timestamps, is by far the best and fairest review I ever watched on TH-cam, well done.
I've used the titanium aftershokz and they were great for under an hour but started hurting with how my sunglasses press into them in the top of my ears. Since I need prescription lenses and wrap around sports glasses are so much better then my regular glasses on the bike that kind of killed my use of them
I actually owned the Airs for awhile (eg they were stolen sadly). I got them for bike rider, but basically ended up wearing them all the time. I find that my ears get really uncomfortable if I have something in them for awhile, so they were a godsend. My only complained is that you can’t lean back with them cause of the metal band. One thing that concerns my about the Aeroplex is that reviews on the Microphone quality are so mixed. Some like you say its fine, while others say it's god awful. It makes me wonder about Aftershokz's quality control.
I agree on the band - does get in the way sometimes. Reviews on microphone quality so much depend on how they are tested. And also people's expectations!
I returned my Aftershokz Aeropex today. I bought it yesterday. It was great in every way, except one thing: I expected it to be ONLY bone conduction, and not both bone conduction and the regular in-ear headphone. When I turned it on and put it on the table, it was so loud that I could hear it from outside my room! It was like a loudspeaker. I don't understand why they added the regular in-ear speaker function to it. It was really a pity that I had to return it. Does anyone know any headphone that has ONLY bone conduction sound, and not in-ear sound?
I'm currently doing research on the various Aftershokz models. They will be used for my daily commute ride with my e-bike that takes about an hour to make things a bit less boring. My headphone taste is selective but not highend. Meze 99 Classic and Beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro are my most expensive headphones, I also own a Grado SR-80 and a Koss Porta Pro. I'm fully aware that any bone conduction phones will sound trashy in comparison with any of the listed gear but I'm left totally undecided what I should go for: I'm wearing glasses and a helmet, so is the Titanium already too bulky? Is the Air a good compromise or does the sound quality of the Aeropex justify the higher price tag?
I've not tried the Airs, but they should all be ok with a normal cycling helmet and glasses - I've used them with both. On a bike if there's any wind or traffic noise they aren't quite loud enough but the Aeropex do sound better than the Titaniums but they aren't twice as good IMO (bearing in mind they are twice the price!)
I am hard of hearing and these work fantastic for listening to music. Going to look into same technology for my hearing because hearing aides that go in my ears don’t work for me
Great yes that is one benefit of these headphones that I didn't cover. I just had a friend buy these who is hard of hearing in one ear - but since these bypass the outer ear she can use these with great success.
When you mentioned phone calls, you said quality is pretty good on both ends of the call. I have the Titaniums and I don't use them on calls because people on the other end say the quality is horrible. So, my question, do the Aeropex have better sound quality on the other end than the Titanium? I would love to be able to use these during phone calls.
I haven't tried them with loads of background noise - and wasn't expecting much to be honest. But I've made quite a few calls with the Aeropex, since the review too, and I've still had no complaints. There seem a bit better than the Titaniums but I think if you found those unusable I'd probably assume these aren't going to be way better ...
I'm coming late to the game, having just seen your review now. I bought the Aeropex today at an headphone shop in Akihabara. First I tried Jabra noise canceling wireless earbuds, the AirPod Pro, and also a less expensive ADV Model Y. I found them all uncomfortable. I guess I'm not an "in ear" person. I also found it hard to hear sounds around them with all those earbuds, even with so-called open and transparent modes enabled. I wanted something wireless for listening to music while on dog walks and outside. Complete over the ear headphones are too heavy and bulky to carry around for that. These were extremely light and (I guess I'm not a real audiophile) I found the music sounded great in the store. And I tried a phone call to a friend and we both hear each other well. So I got them and am about to open the package and dive it.
Thank you for the review! Would you know if taking a phone call while cycling is doable or if the wind noise is too loud for the mic to handle? I'd like to buy headphones for me and my friends using which we could communicate while cycling and I have not found any worthwhile yet.
If you’ve tried bone conduction headphones, I’d love to know your thoughts on them? How did you find them? Did you find the sound quality acceptable? Let me know down below!

Latest version is much better, in a nutshell, nice!
Thank you for any information
my type of reviewer - seriously good... no bs - just 11 minutes of solid information - SUBSCRIBED !
Thank you Arun Yuvarajah - and for the support - your comment made my day!
No worries. For future headphone reviews for cyclists, I would also include something about how much wind affects the sound going at 30-40+km etc. I found with Aeropex it is hard to hear when there is wind but don't see it as a big issue because I want to be aware when I start to get going anyway...
Yes for podcasts I find this an issue - but for music it's not such a big deal.
Nice said Arun
Fantastic review. This guy knows his shit. So rare to get a reviewer who is genuinely into both tech and fitness. I've had the titanium ones for years. They are great for spoken word, though not worth it for music IMO.
Thank you Jesse D!
I agree on this. I have the airz
Thanks for your view.
Thank you for the audio sample of the microphone quality on call. That is exactly what I want to hear an example of.
Great - glad it helped!
That's great 👍 - out of interest what in-ear hearing plugs do you have to use?
The Technology Man were using laser lite right now but a few weeks ago we were using spark plugs. It just depends on what the company orders that’s in stock
In a metal place, how about the magnetic contacts, full of grinded metal parts, at the end of the day?
This review was ridiculous. Ridiculously good that is. Non-stop useful information, no annoying intros or ads, and even has chapters in the video. I wish every reviewer was this thorough and professional. Keep up the great work!
🤣 - thank you TheHappyKamper - really glad you found it helpful. Your comment is much appreciated.
This is the first video of yours I've seen and I love how you present. Fast and no waffle! Subscribed!
Thank you Scott Membry - and for the support! Much appreciated.
I just ordered these and you saved me from having to read any instruction manual or waste time fiddling with all the buttons. Great review!
Thank you Kuya Jorell!
Best review on these products I found so far. Well done.
Thanks so much Martin Koster!
This is how a review should be. Exact information pertaining to the product with comparisons. Your review made my decision much easier. !!WELL DONE !!
Brilliant - thank you Michael Watkins!
Thank you Michael Hellemans! The Aeropex are a little louder - but yes background noise does drown them out quite a bit!
Only way to by pass city noise get a proper boombox and and rock the city streets
Thanks Omar Adrián Ortega Jactthar! Yes handy for that sort of situation too!
😂 Very glad you liked the review and are enjoying the headphones.
I agree - that is the biggest issue for me in certain situations - and I imagine with farming machinery around that could get noisy!
just from this review i'm going to subscribe. Thank you so much for this great review. Now off to order myself a pair.
Thank you Matthew Stanley! Would be interested to hear how you find them when they arrive.
These are great! I have chronic ear pain and these are the only headphones I can use without pain, downgrading from Bose sadly. The audio quality is definitely not as bad as people make it out to be. Nice review, thanks!
Thanks Noël Green! Definitely better with this latest version!
The bose sunglasses things have impressive sound quality for the gimmicky form factor
One of the most straightforward reweer that I watched. I've been looking for great review for this product and found it.
Thanks great many thanks J. Columbus!
Honestly the best reviewer I've watched lately! To the point, no nonsense! Cheers
Thank you Johny Baryah - too kind!
Absolutely superb review. I got one for my cycling and no regrets!
Thank you MalaysiaDentist - and glad you like them!
Fantastic and comprehensive review. Thank you Gidon! I just purchased a pair on sale from eBay - thanks in large part to your review! Cheers!
Thank you jdtoronto11 - I hope you enjoy them!
This guy is amazing. Concise, practical and void of hyperbole. An excellent review. Other tech reviewers take note.
Wow - thank you Johnny Loizides! Made my day :).
This is the reply I was looking for as I also work in an industrial environment and am forced to wear earplugs. Do you have to also wear a hardhat?
@@mephInc nah I just wear a snap back or a beanie
@@petrucci619
Would you be able to wear a hard hat though? At first, the desk jockeys didn't say anything about my ear buds, but then they got all testy and started spouting safety nonsense so I can't go that route anymore.
@@mephInc I dont see why not I welders with them on while using their Miller and Lincoln hoods
Thanks 😊
Thank you Ken Maynell - glad you found it helpful and great feedback! I still really like them - just wish they were louder sometimes ...
What’s your verdict Ken? How’s the sound? Looking to get the aeropex, since the airpods tend to fall out of my ears when riding.
These are great headphones. Versatile and multi-use. Phone quality is surprisingly good. I really like them because I forget they are there. No baggage. The extra battery life is worth the price to me. Music sounds good.
I do grab these headphones more than I thought I would!
Yes quite - very easy to forget you have them on!
Have you checked with Aftershokz - I believe they have a 2 year warranty?
@@TheTechnologyMan Yes, I had initially assumed it was only 1 year, so didn't act on the issues, but by the time I had enough damage, the 2 years were past. My fault.
Thank you for such a clear concise to the point review. What I find perplexing is that no one has reviewed the Winnergear exobone headphones on TH-cam. Not even one! There are so many positive written reviews about exobone headphones. Before forking out a large sum of money for the aftershokz headphones, I would love to see a review on these competitor headphones
Thank you Rajdev Toor! And thanks for the suggestion - I will try and review some budget bone conduction headphones at some point.
They work quite well for jumping rope too. Efficient and informative review! The tickling was quite shocking the first time talking to someone very loud, but I imagine I’ll get used to it
Thank you Bjørnar Sundsbø! Yes it's a strange sensation but notice it when I'm running.
Thanks, this was very helpful. I really appreciated how you broke down the key differences for us audiobook/podcast listeners.
That's great - thank you!
Thanks Raptor7! Glad you're enjoying them!
thorough, precise. thanks. I have the titanium and will be upgrading to aeropex as the old pair doesn't hold a charge the way it used to, but still goes 4-5 hours on a good day
Thanks D.S. Holmstrom!
(tick).
Keep up the good work Technology Man
Thank you Malcolm Quiney - really appreciate the comment - that's exactly what i strive for :).
I'm a courier and bought them based on this review.great for us, in and out of the van all day so need Bluetooth not tied to the van. It means I can talk to base and do my job safely.
Great to hear - thanks Lee!
Great review thanks!
One thing to note on using in conjunction with ear defenders.
I have the titaniums and realised that the induction actually works through over ear defenders as long as the defenders are a shape that allows you to keep the device in place. I presume this would work with the Aeropex too.
Great tip thanks!
Going down over that bridge is fun but the climb back up after not so much! Thanks for the review - interesting to see some of the new features
Thank you saz1241! 😂 - yep - it's always more of a climb than you think!
This is literally the best review I've ever seen man. 👏
Thank you Ro Mo very much appreciated!
I'm sure you'll enjoy them!
Thank you Andy Oldeman - hope they work out for you if you get them!
I am using the Titanium since it was released and I find them really good. They are comfortable and the sound quality is good.
Nice one 👍!
I've had the Titanium since they came out several years ago and use them mainly to listen to audio books while walking and cycling. I love them but I'm tempted by the Aeropex.
Tough one!
Good Lord! Seriously the best review on these. You offered nothing but information! Thank you for the great review!
Great - glad it was helpful!
Thank you Anthony Pannell! Not having to worry about ear buds falling out is a bonus!
That's great!
Just picked up the Aeropex today. I cycle and do hours of phone conferencing every day. I'll see how these work for conferencing tomorrow, and cycling.... in spring.
Let us know how you find them!
Wow get comparison video! This was exactly what I was looking for! Thankyou. I wish there was a place I could try out the apple and aftershockz product.
Thank you Diana A! Our local running shop has them to try on - perhaps you have a a similar shop nearby?
Thanks for the review. Was considering these as a gift for my dad. He could use them while cycling but also for watching TV with a BT transmitter. The multipoint behavior sounds like a dealbreaker though.
Thank you Wheeljack2k!
AweSomeNess PerSoNiFied
I am thoroughly enjoying my aeropex & my friend is loving their opencomms . They sound greats & even better if you chose to plug your ears . The calls on both have been crystal clear . I cant hype these enough .
Great to hear!
Thanks for the support VadersDarkside!
Good point - that's why I quite like them for DIY where I'm wearing ear plugs anyway!
Absolutely incredible review, thank you a lot!
Thank you Jelly Belly - glad you found the video useful!
These look interesting, I've been after wireless headphones for a while and bone conduction headphones seem to be the way to go for most situations I'm in. Thanks for the video Gidon 👍
No problem - thanks W R! Let us know how you get on if you do go for them!
@@TheTechnologyMan No problem!
the titanium aftershokz do not factory reset with the press of all buttons :-/ Mine did not come with instructions informing you of the EQ settings. I have used these since August of 2020 without ear plugs and EQ, so I was really disappointed as you could imagine. Now that I know about the EQ I'm totally stoked. Groovy Man!
😃 - great!
Great review, really enjoyed all the information, keep up the great work! Thanks again for your insight
Thank you Kevin Hart - glad it was useful!
Excellent succinct and informative, no flaff. Ty, hv a pair on order.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks Jason's Family and friends Videos!
Great review, very informative and to the point. Well spoken too.
Many thanks rwhithorn - much appreciated!
Impressed with review. New subscriber and will order the Aeropex. Thank you.
Thank you JDP and thanks for the support really appreciated!
with open ear you can tell which direction the sound is coming from eg: right ear, upper right lower right .
but with transparency mode its only reduced to left ear or right ear , you cant sense where to noise comes from if its from infront or rear of u
Yes good point!
Sir this was incredibly thorough and succinct. Thank you.
Great thank you Albert A.!
Hopefully they'll keep improving the audio!
Thank you very much! Very detailed and comprehensive review!!
Thanks Smilebenrod - glad you found it helpful!
Nice review! Definitely interested in getting a pair of these.
Thank you Broadside!
Great review! I don't need to watch any others after watching this!
Thank you DOMINOSMOFO - very kind of you to say!
👍. I have a few friends that use the Titanium's for cycling - apart from the thicker neckband they work similarly to the Aeropex's.
I've not found that an issue with the Aeropex's - for running I barely notice them.
That's great - yes I use them almost every run.
We have a pair of trekz air, two things I really like:
1. With young kids, you can still hear what is going on around the house.
2. No ear covers to fall to bits on you!
Both good points!
Good review. You mentioned that due to the sound leakage you wouldn't use them in an office at over 50% volume. I'm considering getting these specifically for listening to audiobooks at the office. Would you say that I would be able to get the volume loud enough without having to worry about any sound leakage? Thanks
Same question 🙋
Thanks Jake. I imagine they'd be fine - I found 50% volume was still ok for podcasts if there's not too much background noise ...
Good to hear your experiences - I really like my pair for running and DIY (with earplugs).
long time trekz titanium user. got the aeropex 2 weeks ago. love the fit on the head. the audio is lower then the titanium. the equalization for ear plugs are a down grade. titanium gets clear and loud. the Aeropex keeps to much base and the sound gets muffled with ear pluggs, it could be improved in house in 2 second. the head phones got a clear delay in games and apps so i cant recommend it for use with gaming i would use them for gaming on the phone if the delay got fixed. it cost 3 times as much as the titanium. music loses a bit of base in the aeropex vs titanium i general use. but the audio is good. they need to fix the audio delay in games and apps and the poor eq for ear plugs and the headset would be sort of worth the price. but i do love the fit. a 9 hour work day and i get home forgotten i got them on. not sure eny other headphone can sit on your head with no problem for such a long time like aeropex. the battery time for me is about 18 hours.
Interesting to hear another perspective - thanks for taking the time to leave a comment!
battery life update. i would say on avrage you can get out 10 hours. but i had days when i need to charge it after 8 hours so not a full work day. my trekz titanium had a avrage needed to be charged every 3rd day. so they lost at leas 1/2 of the battery run time.
Good review, thanks. Enjoyed the views of Drake's Trail and Dartmoor :)
😃 - well spotted! Thank you.
Great review. Btw which watch are you wearing while running? Looks really good
Thanks! That's the Ticwatch Pro 4G I was reviewing at the time.
The old version at higher volumes acts like a small speaker. On Aeropex would others be able to hear at high volumes?
Yes you can at higher volumes.
Any idea on how to watch TV with Aftershokz and at the same time my wife is able to watch the same TV via its speakers?
If your TV has a 3.5mm audio output you could purchase a 3.5mm to Bluetooth adapter and then connect your headphones. Although this would override the TV's speakers on most TVs - you'd have to check.
Great to see a review from my local area! South west is best 🙌🏽
Hard to beat!
@@TheTechnologyMan amazing thanks for the quick reply! I think I'll give them a try!
And happy New year 🎉🥳
Happy New Year to you too! Not sure how they'd sound for electronic drums - if there's not too much bass they'll probably sound ok but not great.
Ran into an ad for these on TikTok. Can anyone tell me where these are made? No website I’ve searched will spit up that detail.
They are made in China (just double checked on the box).
Thank you so much BenTa! Watching TH-cam and films on an iPad - lip sync is good with little latency.
I've used the titanium aftershokz and they were great for under an hour but started hurting with how my sunglasses press into them in the top of my ears. Since I need prescription lenses and wrap around sports glasses are so much better then my regular glasses on the bike that kind of killed my use of them
These a fair bit more slender than the Titaniums so may fit better ...
Sorry they didn't work out for you. Hope you find what you're after.
What is wrong with micro USB? We have it on so many devices, it's one of the only things holding me back getting these headphones
These headphones aren't micro USB - they have a proprietary magnetic charger which works great - so long as you have it with you!
Great review!! Thanks!! What do you think is better for remote working (Teams calls): Aeropex or Opencomm? Thanks!
Thanks! I've not tried the Opencomm - but they should be better for your scenario.
Excellent and very informative review :)
Thank you Tim Hamons!
Great hope they work out for you!
Thank you for a great review! Do you think these would work in an environment with high wind speeds if combined with earplugs?
Thanks Johan Lindvall! With earplugs you should be ok - I've not tried that specific scenario though.
Thank you for the review! Would you know if taking a phone call while cycling is doable or if the wind noise is too loud for the mic to handle? I'd like to buy headphones for me and my friends using which we could communicate while cycling and I have not found any worthwhile yet.
No problem! I can't manage a phone call - even slowing down on the bike. But YMMV!
Do you recommend these for the gym? Awesome video btw
Thank you Mustafa Karimi! Yes good for the gym - if you like to hear what's going on around you.
Is that a microphone test at 9:07? If yes, thanks, at last, the only review which does have one!
Yes it is - I normally add screen text! Glad it was helpful.
Solid review! Really informative.
Thank you Anthony Mattazaro!
Very consistent and up to point.
Thank you jad belmi!
