The Warning is a Mexican rock band from Monterrey, formed in 2013 by the Villarreal Vélez sisters: Daniela (guitar, lead and backing vocals, piano), Paulina (drums, lead and backing vocals, piano), and Alejandra (bass guitar, piano, backing vocals). Their third studio album, Error, was released in 2022.

The guest drummer is Pau's drum teacher. The media in Mexico were criticizing them basically calling them traitors because their music was in english and that they were betraying their culture. This pissed Pau off so she wrote a song about them and did it in spanish just to basically say they had no idea what they were talking about. This is one of my favorite performances by them. Pau is not only a great drummer,song writer and has an amazing voice she is also an amazing front woman.🎸🤘🏻

It's basically a middle finger to the Mexican critics for criticizing them for singing in English.
Theyre not fooling the mexican people. They only fool themselves. A parrot can also speak spanish and claim mexican pride.
The issue is not that they sing in english. The issue is that they prioritize and put a foreign culture on a pedestal above their own

Pau sings lead on several songs - Fade Away, Escape the Mind, Black Holes, Show Me the Light, 23, Revenant, Breathe, Narcisista; she duets with Dany on several songs - Survive, Disciple, Queen of the Murder Scene. Pau sings backup on most songs. The guest drummer, Beto Ramos, is Pau’s teacher, the drummer for the band Jumbo, and the guy that mixed the audio for this concert’s recording. He also owns Groovy Chaos, the company involved in the Automatic Sun video.

They were critiicized in Mexico for singing in English. Their response. "Oh you want us to sing in Spanish? Ok we can do that. How's this? Up yours! We'll sing anyway we want to sing!"

Beto Ramos was also the audio stage manager of the Teatro 2022 concerts. He is one of the best drummers in Mexico.

Never cross Pau, she'll absolutely roast you in a song. Check out their Foro Didi version when they first debuted Narcisista. Pau is playing drums as well as singing on that one and you can just see the fire in her eyes.

I saw an interview with the three of them (which means Dany and Pau did pretty much all of the talking) in which Pau addressed the issue of singing lead vocals. She said something to the effect that the reason she doesn't sing lead vocals on more songs is simply because it's exhausting to sing and play drums at the same time. And yeah... He's a pretty good drummer. That's Beto Ramos, Pau's drum teacher.

Pau loves to hit things. It's almost like it's self therapy. It still amazes that when they got Rock Band as 8/6 yr Olds, Dany picked up the guitar and Pau picked the drums and never looked back

Pau would be an awesome front woman on a band. Her energy is ridiculous. But, if she did that, we would miss her completely dominating, awesome drumming.

yep Dany is the powerhouse front woman and is definitely the best overall lead singer along with her charisma…. she has the whole package… but Pau is also very incredible when she has her moments in lead singing
@@Nolimitcam._ Agree. Like I said, I love Pau and she is an incredible vocalist in her own right. I love it when she sings lead I think her voice is perfect for the songs that she does (Dust to Dust wouldn’t be as good with Dany singing it, in my opinion) but overall Dany is the better vocalist. Her range, her vibrato, her falsetto, and her grit and growl when she uses it are top tier. Her and Pau have different strengths and characteristics to their vocals which gives them a versatility most other bands don’t have. But Dany rules, no doubt.

Not only is Pau a fully capable vocal lead but she can aing very well while drumming. Probably the best of her drumming+playing performances is the song named 23. Many people will recomend Dust to Dust, but 23 is better because she sings perfectly while playing drums and even maintaining a syncopated bass drum pattern much of the time.
And yes, Spanish can be gorgeous. Listen to Dany sing Martirio (Martyrdom), which is a fantastic arena rock anthem as well.
Beto, who plays drums on this performance is Pau's drum teacher. And he taught her so well she's this year's Drumeo Rock Drummer of the Year.

The only bad thing about reading the lyrics during Pau's monumental front woman performance is, well, you miss the monumental performance...Pau can do anything and everything, her talents are boundless. Hope you watched again and just watched. Love the reaction. Pau sings a bunch of songs as the lead and all are superlative. Cheers. Rock on. Let's make this very very clear. The debate of singers is over with The Warning.
Ale is the backup. That's all she wants to be. She will step up, if needed, to sing lead.
Pau enjoys singing backup & occasional lead. For Pau to sing lead. Just like Phil Collins or Karen Carpenter. She will have to give up the drums. At 22 yrs old. That ain't happening.
Now Dany. She was asked a question in the studio during the Error album sessions. What instruments she plays?? Dany said (in reverse order) Saxophone. Piano. Guitar. Singing cause I can sing. *Dany loves to sing.* She will give up guitar before singing.
Pau, on the other hand, will give up singing to play the drums. Drumming is in her.
Pau isn't the lead in more songs because other than this performance, she sings *while* drumming and she says it would be too exhausting to do more.
My favorite Pau lead song so far is 23.
But yeah she has a beautiful voice. One of my faves is 23 from this same concert.

I love Pau singing but Dany has the voice that cuts through everything and even in the background vocals here you can hear and feel the power of her vocals

Pau simply commands the stage. Whether out front or behind the kit. You can't not watch her tiny self just murder whatever she is doing.
You mentioned Dany being able to be just the guitarist. She loves when her sisters sing lead.
Dany has the most vocal training, and her skills are amazing. She is by far one of the best female rock singers you can find. Pau has a beauty to her voice. She doesn't have Dany's range or ability to sing lead night after night, but she has a deep soul that comes across in everything she does.
Then there's our unicorn. The one who normally harmonizes on the low end, which is not her natural place, and also does the highest end of harmonies, which is closer to her natural range. Ale, who has the sweetest voice that you may only be blessed with once, live, in your life. You have 3 amazing front women.
Find me a band like that anywhere, anytime in the world. Go ahead.

as far as i know , this is the only time Pau has ever stepped out from behind and instrument and did _only_ vocals [edit: apparently i was wrong]. but she does do lead on quite a few songs.

She has done it several times. Twice Arejay Hale took over the drums when The Warning and Halestorm toured together. She has also done it with the band Eruca Sativa and with the band Moderatto when The Warning opened for them. Just as an aside, Dany also did vocals with both Eruca Sativa and Three Days Grace. The ladies are definitely versatile.

It would be great to have a couple “Pau up front” songs each show, but Dany needs to remain the main front woman because she has a more natural rapport with the audience. Pau also interacts with the audience too, but I’m sure she’d scare the bejezuz out of them on occasion. Remember her ordering everyone to get their hands up for Evolve?. 👹👻😂😂😂😂

Its hard to rock any language other than English. Klaus from the Scorpions says you can only rock in English. Well The Warning prove differently. The lyrics dont flow as well as an English song, but so what. This and Martirio from the same show are phenomenal. I dont have a clue what they either song says, but love them just the same.
Dude, sorry but you don't need the lyrics the first time you hear the song. I fell in love with the song the first time I heard it and didn't know any lyrics or backstory. Jus' sayin' This song is a response to Mexican critics who criticized them for doing their songs in English. So, they did this, their first song in Spanish, as a response! (BTW, "Malinchista" is a Mexican word meaning Cultural Traitor)
The drummer is Beto Ramos. He is Pau's drum teacher. He also did the sound mixing of videos for this show. He has been in some very popular Mexican Rock bands. If you want to see Pau playing drums for this, watch the video from Foro Didi.
Also, when they toured with Halestorm, Arejay Hale played drums for them on this song twice on their tour, I believe. He was great too. And Pau is just a firecracker when you get her out from behind the kit!

These young ladies have shown the entire music world how to not make a bad song because every one of their original songs are great. They are this generations Beatles only they are better because the fab four wrote some songs that were up to snuff and sucked. These ladies do not know the meaning of a bad song.

Well to me a hit song does not mean they have to hit the charts well if making the charts is a measure of having a hit well then they have made because they have hit the BIG TIME with a BILLBOARD Top 10 which is a good thing, but I do not measure if a band has made it by making the charts but by how good they are at putting out one great song after another and these young women of THE WARNING have done that time and time again and I do not see them not putting out a song that is as good or better than the ones that came before.
