It is indeed Troy singing at the end. Yes, it is reminiscent of The Greatest Show On Earth. That's because the Yesterwynde album is the 3rd in the trilogy of albums, along with Endless Forms Most Beautiful (which includes TGSOE) and Human:II:Nature, with the themes of life, science, nature, and evolution, etc. Video is more like a mini movie than a music video. Seen this 5 ,6 dozen times, and still finding details. Think there are supposed to be 2 more videos before the album releases on the 20th of Sep. More Troy singing? He sang lead on "Harvest" from the Human Nature album. Don't know yet if he has any lead vocals on the new album.
I heard band members say, this upcoming album, do really feel like last part of the trilogy.. being the albums Endless forms most beautyful, Human Nature, and upcoming album Yesterwynde..
It's both exactly as expected and nothing as expected. It couldn't be anyone, but Nightwish. Also, Tuomas is a hell of a composer and I can't wait for the new album to be released in September.
My 21 year old son shares your phobias and ive been dying to show him the new Nightwish release. Was going settle for just letting him hear the audio version but maybe now ill share your reaction video with him. Im sure he will feel less anxious seeing it in your company. Its always a comfort to know you are far from alone with these phobias. 😃🤘
Troy also sang lead in the Decades tour Buenos Aires concert: The Carpenter. I'm not sure you (Dom) will like it as I know you like the heavier stuff and The Carpenter isn't all that metal, but I think you'd appreciate the instrumental stuff and Troy and Floor's voices blend beautifully when they harmonise in the chorus. Its quite different for Nightwish, the first single they ever released. There is also a studio video with Tuomas (yes, he sang in a bit of the earlier stuff) and Tarja on vocals. Might not be your cup of tea, but I think you'd find it interesting.
Hey Dom, Great Review Again, Lady You Rock, Yes this is the third and last Album in the trilogy of Nightwish's tribute, to life and the beginning of it, Tuomas is just a genius, end Off, and the whole of the members band are ALL at the Top of their game, in their musicianship, And Floor's vocals, are Well, Just out of this world Really, and to all accounts the rest of this new Album is going to be Quite Heavy, Yes To That, A Big Thank You to YOU, Keep them coming.
Ville is awesome music video maker...as are all the NW people for the music and deep meaning messages for (intelligent) people to think ; ) Yes Troy nailed the vocals in the end.
My Aunt...my moms sister....went on a two year journey, researching the members of our heritage. She ended up with a 1000 or more pages of our ancestors.... Going back to the early 1600's in the USA, and even more from her research in Ireland. Seems my mother's "Sir name", is stil around....and it allowed her get even more information from some of the churches. A little note...as some have said that Floors voice blends in with the choir members singing. I saw where Tuomas said it was on purpose.
Lots of details in this song, did you notice: Floor diving into Darwin's "On the Origin of Species"? Darwin? Einstein's bust changing into an ape? William Shakespeare? The Free Diver dropping his camera at the very end? Three Free Divers, two of them Finnish, one French: Guillaume Néry 🇫🇷? From his movie "One breath around the World" the Whales scene: th-cam.com/video/OnvQggy3Ezw/w-d-xo.html
I somehow doubt after seeing this reaction that the Metal Muse would love to see that freediving movie.... That ancient picture of humans and huge crabs is also quite famous.
Going to be crazy to see this live..hopefully at some point in the future 🙏 How unlucky for those who have not yet discovered the magic that is Nightwish. Hopefully performances like this amazing piece of musical art, and the continuing efforts of reactors like yourself Dom, many more will be made aware of the energy and joy this amazing band brings to so many.🤘🤘 Just an incredible adventure in songwriting and performance👍👍
the title says it all such well made video thnks to the Ville fella that made this video his name is at the end with the lovely bunch of coconuts which is their production company i think looks like someone spent 100k beautiful tapestry of tuomas and the band is timeless should be a hot and fast seller when its out on september 20th and yes that troy voice at the end pretty soothing
14:34 try Harvest. It have those folk/celtic vibes and makes me think about "The Lion King" but it have Troy as main vocal. And that bridge gives me shivers every time.
Troy singing today is thanks to Floor’s coaxing him to sing a few years ago. ( maybe some coaching too) From what I seem to remember her saying was that Troy needed some stimulating by Floor to sing as he didn’t think his voice was good enough. Seems she was right.
This song is the perfect Nightwish reset, just a notch below perfection, leaving room for the new album to ascend to its own anticipated greatness. It is very catchy, and you can already see the front rows at their concerts rocking out. I would love to go to my first Nightwish with you! Ma9Na
And along came a spider 😂 I felt this was in line with The last show on earth aswell.. How many ancestors for us to exist. The beginning was like some movie soundtrack. Rest was like a dream :D
Love this! Awesome reaction. I came into this reaction a little late after a lengthy hospital stay! Glad to be back home and catch up with your releases. Hope all is well with the little ones. Can't wait for the release of this project. You nailed the Ghostbusters thing. Take care! 🍻🤟👏
There is a male metal performer from Brazil, he is classically trained, but his main genre is metal. He did a few male versions of Nightwish, Evanescence, Adelle, Celine Dion, Lady Gaga, Belinda Carlisle. He also did covers of Dabaton, Metallica, Guns N Roses, Iron Maiden, Journey, ACDC, Shaman, Queen, Seal and many more. His Bring me to life cover, metal version is fire. He is a phenominal singer, with more than 1 million subscribers. Did Amazing grace, Adeste Fidelis, Oh holy night, My heart will go on, Poker face in metal. His name is Dan Vasc. Nightwish dont dissapoint "did you feel the ghost energy song" I listened to this song many many times by now, and it is one i like to listen to with my headphones or without, its really a good song, when i can do so to me. Some say Floors voice is low in the mix, and i can agree its hard to get all words she sing, but if you look at it soundwise it sounds amazing!! and after a listen or 2, you know most of lyrics, and its no problem at all, its done fully on purpose for the sound experince of it, and like shes part of the ancestor choir.. cant wait for rest of album!! Yesterwynde is the opening track on new album, i belive its only like a intro, its a little over 2 min long, #2 on album then is a almost 10 min song, thats proberly another epic!! #3 is where i think they bring in a heavy track, and this Perfume of the timeless is #5.. so i think its gonna be a good mix of heavy songs, Epics, and maybe a full balled.. Perfume of the timeless, well its almonst a ghost energy song right, telling all these ancestors is perfume around in a timeless world, being around you still, also a message that your existens matters!! i feel tuomas also put in a little message that mankind could do better still, Einstein turn to ape.. The title of the album is a word made by band member Troy Donockley, which Holopainen describes as the feeling of time, history, memory, and being connected to past generation, who have "all had their lives, their ups and downs, and they don't exist anymore, except as atoms scattered all over the universe. And we're going to be in that state pretty soon as well. So that should give you something to think about." "Half the year has vanished into thin air" how appropriate is that observation in the context of this song? I love this song and find the way it's presented to us, in this form, to be a fantastic work of art. So glad you did this right after The Greatest Show on Earth as it underscores the continuity, the flow of Tuomas' and the band's vision. I think that being able to place this work into the context of being part of a trilogy, while not strictly necessary, enhances the understanding and the enjoyment of it. On a side note, so glad that for once I caught one of your NW reactions right as it came out (on lunch break - glad I wasn't swallowing a bite of my sandwich when you noted "uber eats for animals", I truly laughed out loud). Peace.
Hi Muse, sweet reaction as always. EVOLUTION...a great theory but with restrictions as any other theory (Einstein's General Relativity included). The main two of them: 1. How did the first cell come from non-life "star dust". 2. Conciousness! Starting from October, similar subjects will be available for a weekly discussion through metal! Greetings from Greece!
Please checkout Hammerfall “The End Justifies” They are a Swedish band formed in 1993, and this song is a brand new single to their upcoming 13th’s album
Troy and Tuomas pronounce it with a long "I" like your first pronunciation and as Troy made up the word, he should know! The free diving is from another source, a video that is a free driver's own from his own site. Tuomas of course, is obsessed with oceans and they turn up in many, many songs. He was going to be a marine biologist. Troy: The Carpenter, Buenos Aires 2018 Harvest from many sources but also the music video How's the Heart acoustic from 2022 live shows and from Planet Rock.
the ending vocals sung by Troy. if you want to hear a song from him react to "Harvest". very beautiful song..a lot of cgi but the freediver was real. ( there were 3 of them during the shoots)
Hi Dom, greetings from down south That was another lovely reaction, thank you 🥰 This album and the last two albums form a trilogy so it is not surprising that they will deal with similar themes I guess 😊 I think I read somewhere that before the album release in September they are going to be releasing two more songs with music videos(?) so we shouldn't have too long to wait for more 😉
I’ve seen and heard this song now at least between 20 and 30 times but every time I’m amazed that those 8 minutes pass in about half the time. It will like hardly 4 minutes have passed.
Only thing i dont believe ever reviewed their current album Human Nature which has many great songs and lots of songs on humanity and Nature. This song is third album in triology about evolution.
This music and video is epic experience. I’m glad you liked it. Oceans are mystical origin of something, full of wonders, but I can understand the fear of the dark unknown and the feeling of not being safe. My favorite part of this song and the video is when Floor spreads her arms and kind of like leading the birds formation, but the second favorite is diver among the whales. I hope that part was not giving you, any bad vibes, Dom, because at least I find that part very soothing 🙂 …However, at least the scene with a little fish in a drop and the Troy’s soft voice came to rescue you.
Another epic reaction. Thanks Miss Metal Muse. I know some people don´t like the mixing of Floors voice. But now when I know the lyrics I can hear her better By the way. Went for a drive the other day. Here´s a short clip from my dashcam. Yup. We are almost neighbours. Hahahaha. (it´s safe to watch) th-cam.com/video/wCkGqEZ8iCE/w-d-xo.html
For more where Troy is featured on vocals, check out His, Tuomas and Tuomas's wife Johanna's side group: "Auri". Beautiful songs, and Troy leads on some, or blends with Johanna.
The part of the diver with the whales, reminds me the whale song I heard thru the hull of the aircraft carrier I served on. Worked in the ship's engine room which was entirely below the waterline, all 3 decks.
Darn, just wanted to ask you on a date to go scuba diving 🤣 Thank you for the reaction, loved it, and very nice to hear you were spot on about the connection between TGSOE and this masterpiece. I did miss Luna though😉 Well, hope you scored some nice things in the sale, keep on rock'n, hope to see you soon again. Cheers.
Yes that was Troy. To hear more from him listen to Harvest on the previous Human II Nature album or for live watch him perform The Carpenter on the 2018/19 Decades Tour.
at Least Floor can go change Dresses beeing mixed in the Choir from Tape, so She wont have to stand around most of the Time doing nothing. And you really look forward to Troy singing Live? wow. Respect.
"I just watched Ghostbusters last night, and so that was the first thing that popped into my head." 😲 Oh no! Remember what happened to Dan Aykroyd when he succumbed to the first thing that popped into his mind: He inadvertently chose the form of Gozer The Destroyer!!! What have you done??!! 🤣🤣🤣
If you want to hear Troy with a more speaking voice (audiobooks…) listen to the album version of Dead Boys Poem. Listen to it in any case, it’s a great song. Also: the concept of a “bank holiday” is really British. It doesn’t mean much outside of the UK AFAIK.
Some probability calculations: Step 1. Probability of boy meeting girl: one in 20,000. Step 2. Probability of same boy knocking up same girl: one in 2000. Step 3. Probability of right sperm meeting right egg: one in 400 quadrillion. Step 4. Now lets assume that you have just those 12 generations of ancestors mentioned in the intro to this song. For the probability of every one of those 12 generations of your ancestors having reproduced successfully with right sperm having met the right egg is 400 quadrillion to the 12th power. Given these 4 steps, the probability of you being born you at the present moment is 20k x 2k x 400 quadrillion to the 13th power. Going backwards in time with even more generations of your ancestors, we soon reach a probability of 1 divided by the number of atoms in the entire universe. This makes each one of us a unique miracle. P.S. Most, if not all, of the free diving sections are taken from Guillaume Néry's short film "One Breath Around The World", which you can watch on his YT channel.
Incredible song by the greatest composer of my lifetime, with only one error. Two to the twelfth power is 4096 (not 4094). Yeah, I'm a geek, and a technical guy, so I know binary and the powers of two. I started writing a poem ... "4094, never less never more" and then I realized the error. I love how each member of the band makes an appearance in the video. Also, being an old fart, the theme resonates with me. I'm the only child of an only child, and my child is an only child who does not wish to have a child, so my line of 4096 ends with him. Not a fun fact to face when you can see the end of the tunnel. If you cannot see the beauty in this song, at least Tuomas can slap you in the face with your reality and make you realize that we are here for a blink of time ... make the most of it! Alway a joy watching with you Dom!
Interesting point about the 4096 ancestors over 12 generations! However, there’s another perspective to consider. If we start counting from the first generation (your parents) and don’t include the individual themselves and their partner, the number would be 2^12 - 2, which equals 4094. So, you could say that you have 4094 ancestors over 12 generations, assuming no overlap in your family tree. This is just another way to look at it, depending on whether or not you count the individual and their partner as ‘ancestors’.
Well, haven't you do "Harvest" from H:ll:N. It was the second single, and Troy in the lead. It was a little surprise, and a bitter cake for the most metallic fans. But l like it as a long time Jethro Tull fan. There's a beautiful lyric video. Very nice reaction to this, which has also some divisive elements. ⛄👍
Hello, Metal Muse, I feel I owe you an apology. I had previously complained about your volume etc on the videos. Turns out that on my pc, I can hear you just fine. It appears that my phone and YT are not compatible with good sound together. Phone plays my own music brilliantly. YT is very dull and thick in my phone. Having said all that, I sincerely apologise for complaining in one of your earlier videos😅🙏 I do like your reactions, even better through my pc.😁
Hi Dom, hope you're well. Not many people know that these last 3 albums are a trilogy that have to do with our existence, life, and evolution. So safe to say that if you feel a famiar theme or vibe between all 3 albums, you would not be wrong. The more I hear this, the more I love it! Thank you for the video, reaction and comments. Stay safe and stay blessed. 😊❤️🤘🤘
I can think of no better band to learn about Symphonic Metal than Nightwish. Gabriel Bardac usually posts to a reactor’s first Nightwish experience (I didn’t see it for this channel - may have missed it). His music list (missing the tailored welcome message) is at th-cam.com/channels/Y4Jd027EJ0_CDemklQ5fxA.htmlcommunity?lb=UgkxRaItvW08Q116vaGPX7nhCX06BBoyUIni
Nightwish has really put the orchestra and choirs up front in this song. Not always the case, but lots of strings and brass, and the ending children's choir, with Troy's vocals and the the deep bass strings and piano, loved it.
When I first heard this I was a bit disappointed at the repetitiveness of the chorus. But have come to think maybe it is an intentional representation of the repetitiveness of generation after generation after generation.
Great reaction, I think this song is pure genius and I really can't wait for the album 🤘
Your smile says everything. Masterpiece.
It is indeed Troy singing at the end. Yes, it is reminiscent of The Greatest Show On Earth. Troy is the lead singer for the song "Harvest" ! It's very good and Tory's Irish Bag pipes get a nice long solo in this song!

Great reaction on a beautiful song❤
Thank you!
Nice reaction. We are because of a million loves.
You seem to understand the meaning of the songs very well I noticed that in other reactions to Nightwish too you're intelligent.
🤩👍💥💯🎶
If nothing else Troy could be less expensive as a voice (actor) than Liam Neeson...
🤘😎💙🎶
🤣🤣🤣
Lovely reaction Dom!👍👍👋
I love your reactions. Also i like the fact that you have the best headphones in the world. I also have the same pair. Sennheiser for life!
My friend who is a musician and professional editor recommended them.
Do you like them? That's what matters.
This will be the third album of the trilogy all basses around the evolution of everything.
Another epic reaction. Thanks Miss Metal Muse. I know some people don´t like the mixing of Floors voice. But now when I know the lyrics I can hear her better
By the way. Went for a drive the other day. Here´s a short clip from my dashcam. Yup. We are almost neighbours. Hahahaha. (it´s safe to watch)

For more where Troy is featured on vocals, check out His, Tuomas and Tuomas's wife Johanna's side group: "Auri". Beautiful songs, and Troy leads on some, or blends with Johanna.
Nice dear,great song....FL❤❤R
This was a very nice one from you😘. And yes, the third in the triligy.
And no spiders for you🙃
😁
Great reaction!!:) If you want to hear more Troy in lead vocals, you need to listen Harvest from Nightwish.
Thank you! Will do!
Great command :) Againe a Masterpiece 🤘🤘🤘
This final album of the trilogy is going to be 👌
The part of the diver with the whales, reminds me the whale song I heard thru the hull of the aircraft carrier I served on. Worked in the ship's engine room which was entirely below the waterline, all 3 decks.
Dom - did you notice that at 07:47 the teeth of the animal skull looked exactly like 🤘
Darn, just wanted to ask you on a date to go scuba diving 🤣
Thank you for the reaction, loved it, and very nice to hear you were spot on about the connection between TGSOE and this masterpiece.
I did miss Luna though😉
Well, hope you scored some nice things in the sale, keep on rock'n, hope to see you soon again.
Cheers.
The song, "Harvest" from their last album features a lot of Troy as lead vocalist...
Yes that was Troy. To hear more from him listen to Harvest on the previous Human II Nature album or for live watch him perform The Carpenter on the 2018/19 Decades Tour.
Going to be so cool when they play it live.
at Least Floor can go change Dresses beeing mixed in the Choir from Tape, so She wont have to stand around most of the Time doing nothing. And you really look forward to Troy singing Live? wow. Respect.
Might be a while though since they decided not to tour this one. Maybe they'll do some smaller gigs with minimal setup sometime.
Heard they won't be touring in the next few years.
@@ltwatlas6948 They're not kids anymore, Floor has two young children, and not everyone is Keith Richards. But one can hope.
Omg amazing!!!
@@themetalmuse I couldn't resist! Now Tuomas is going to come back in giant form and destroy us with his genius! 😃
If you want to hear Troy with a more speaking voice (audiobooks…) listen to the album version of Dead Boys Poem. Listen to it in any case, it’s a great song.
Also: the concept of a “bank holiday” is really British. It doesn’t mean much outside of the UK AFAIK.
I’ll check it out 🫶
Troy is the lead voice in "Harvest". Nice official lyric video, too!
Scotland..you are the best. ❤ Not a bad Word about the mixing..😉👍
Mixing sounded better on this video. The distortion I often have heard in the big chorus section was not really there this time. Sounded good.
Great reaction. I have the same fear. Never had it it until I took SCUBA lessons. Now ugh…it’s so freaky. I don’t want to know what is down there.
🥲
Yeyh! Metalmuse and Nightwish! Want more Troy? Have you reacted to Harvest?
For more Troy I suggest the song Harvest by Nightwish, his vocals are also on the Auri albums (Tuomas, Troy and Johanna Kurkela)
Some probability calculations:
Step 1.
Thanks

Not error.

The number 4094 is correct. It’s not 2^12, it’s 2+4+8….+2048
Tuomas Holopainen metal Mozart
@chadbennett7873 the math here is not 2^12, but sum of 2+4+8+...+2048, which equals 4094.
It is wind like winding back a clock.
Hi! Try "harvest" of the album human nature. Great song with troy in vocals
Look at it again... and think of the heroic diver as the 1 in 14 million sperm that created you! He won the perilous race and you are here!
more Troy? It has to be 'Harvest' then.
Main vocals by Troy with Floor backing him up
Hello, Metal Muse, I feel I owe you an apology.
😁🙌
Hi Dom, hope you're well.
Not many people know that these last 3 albums are a trilogy that have to do with our existence, life, and evolution.
So safe to say that if you feel a famiar theme or vibe between all 3 albums, you would not be wrong.
The more I hear this, the more I love it!
Thank you for the video, reaction and comments. Stay safe and stay blessed.
😊❤️🤘🤘

More Troy = Harvest
This was a beautiful song. I'm a bit clueless about the genre, what is it?
Symphonic Metal at it's best
I can think of no better band to learn about Symphonic Metal than Nightwish. Gabriel Bardac usually posts to a reactor’s first Nightwish experience (I didn’t see it for this channel - may have missed it). His music list (missing the tailored welcome message) is at th-cam.com/channels/Y4Jd027EJ0_CDemklQ5fxA.htmlcommunity?lb=UgkxRaItvW08Q116vaGPX7nhCX06BBoyUIni
@@zbygniewprlwytzkofsky6614 *SYMPHONIC* metal ...
Genre: Nightwish 😊
Nightwish has really put the orchestra and choirs up front in this song. Not always the case, but lots of strings and brass, and the ending children's choir, with Troy's vocals and the the deep bass strings and piano, loved it.
👌👌
react to harvest by nightwish because troy sings there in the whole song
Please react to Harvest with Troy on lead vocals.
It's just a shame that they aren't going to tour for a couple of years. I really think that might hurt the album.
For more Troy: Auri - Desert Flower
love it and you.is that outfit latex or pvc?
This is a PVC dress.
Floor’s vocals sound buried in the mix to me.

When I first heard this I was a bit disappointed at the repetitiveness of the chorus. But have come to think maybe it is an intentional representation of the repetitiveness of generation after generation after generation.

Haha! Glad someone else thought of Ghostbusters as well as me! 😆
