Ooh!! I need to check out Death Valley! Sundial is so good! I love that cover as well! I don't know if you've read the Ruins yet but it's a great summer horror!
These were such unique recommendations! I'm curious about Upstairs at the White House. Becoming by Michelle Obama was one of my favorite non-fiction audiobooks. I loved having an inside perspective of the life of a First Lady!
I’m glad I could bring some uniqueness to the season! I think you’d like Upstairs at the White House, I loved hearing about their lives. They did/do so much and yet always take a backseat. There’s also so much tradition I wasn’t aware of.
❤📚📚❤️ The book that popped into my head first was Love and Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch (who doesn't love gelato in the summer) 😊. Then, The Dry by Jane Harper for heat. Some good recommendations, thanks!
Ooooh those are two great recs! Isn’t Live and Gelato about a trip to Italy?? I might be thinking of something else but it sounds so familiar. And Dry has the atmosphere built right into the title with just one word, how could it NOT be perfect for summer?!
So excited about these recommendations. I also live in Arizona 🌵🌻
Oh man so you’re melting like I am I bet! I hope we get a decent monsoon season, that’s perfect reading ambiance!

YES I think you’d like Death Valley! I should have known you’d come through with the summer horror recs! ☀️
Triple digits, no thank you! 🥵 I loved Razorblade Tears!
No kidding, I need an escape for real!
I love razorblade tears. Such a good book. I wanna read death valley.
It really is - emotional depth and fast action!

@@JAKandtheBookStack Thanks! Yes, Love and Gelato takes place in Italy. It brought back sweet memories of our trip there(we ate LOTS of gelato). 🤣🌞❤️
I Love You But I’ve Chosen Darkness by Claire Vaye Watkins takes place in the Mojave Desert 🏜️ it’s fiction but somewhat autobiographical.
That title alone has me intrigued! Thank you for the recommendation I will be looking into that one! I love desert settings
