Vokerahhhh!. Funny thing is, they are part of riello, who make great burners, but an insurance company own a portion of vokera and they like the cycle of cheap replacement boilers.
Im retired now and made a good living installing worcester boilers winning awards ,worcester took their eye off the ball and the quality went into free fall . Multiple problems ,i swiched to ideal ,not an atractive boiler but its burner bar and the whole layout were a belt and braces ,nuts n bolts boiler ,with a great back up ,unlike worcester as they had become bogged down with boiler repairs.if you are a jobbing plumber who do boiler repairs you have got to identity the alternative parts that can fit particular boilers at a far cheaper price , many parts are made on the same production line but if its vailant stamped on it instead of biasi is double the price for the same product.great educational content .keep it up bull dog
Nice video Luke, Bostin😂, had my original Valiant combi boiler for over 35 years before we had to change it for a Heatline Capriz 28c which was cheap and still going strong, in the 80's Valiant had a good rep, I believe Heatline is now part of the Valiant group which is why we went for it
To be fair to that Vaillant it was rocking an original pressure sensor and Diverter valve. Grey bottom tray so circa 2009….. it is approx 15 years old with average life expectancy of a Combi in hard water being 10 years.
I like your video 'You will never convince me....' is a very stark warning for any plumber who is not trained in Vailliant boilers or ANY others NOT to try to fix them. Whatever the job costs it is safer than fumbling about as you were.
As an S&R engineer I’d rather see a vaillant breakdown over most other boilers! Nothings made to last so make the most of the easy breakdowns. At least everything is fairly accessible on a vaillant.
Is there really a big difference in the incoming water supply in Germany? I think most of the problems are due to a lot of heating systems would’ve been an old open vented system at some point, so there’s more sludge in the radiators which plays havoc with the Vaillant boilers. Great to work on and service though. Good video though mate
You are correct with the Bristan easy fit failing. Normally 1-3 years after installation I’ve been to 5 this year and all different installers but Bristan not doing the decent thing and accepting responsibility that it works free over time and just blaming installers. Will never fit an easy fit again
In regard to the easy fit taps, I’ve fitted a lot over last few years not had a problem as yet, can see why they might work loose on the grub screws, I always use an Alan key and not the rubbish thing they give you, if you use their key it doesn’t tighten properly, may be that’s why they are blowing off.
For the Worcester the transformer went so you had to change the wiring harness and pcb is that correct. Can't the transformer be changed or they are obsolete.
Some of the WB boilers, you can still purchase the transformer. But it’s better to change to the new PCB as this has a switched mode power supply on board, so no future transformer failures in the future!
Down side of vaillants definitely is the hard water….same parts always failing esp the rubber hoses on the R1’s. On the plus the parts are very easy and accessible to fit. Once they hit about 8 years old its multiple organ failure😵🤦🏼♂️😂👍🏼
Have they learnt and remedied these issues in newer Vaillant models do you know? Or are they still susceptible to damage incurred from hard water as is being pointed out? Just had one fitted 😱
I’ve never understood why Vaillant boilers are so highly regarded. I’ve never fitted one and probably never will, they’re just nothing but trouble in my experience.
@@gregbenham5586I couldn’t find that vid but assuming they were old Vaillants then yes, I’ll make exceptions for those. The Thermocompacts and TurboMax were great boilers for example. It’s just the later ones I don’t like.
Vaillant are highly regarded for the controls, efficiency, and reliability. Small pain to change parts but most go because of poor system water or install.
Ideals absolute rubbish and fitted in mist new builds as they give good incentives. I'd Fit vaillant as my premium. Boiler just wish they had sorted thst divertor out and pressure sensor issue plus side easy to replace. Baxi 800s decent and mains are good budget boiler. By looks of that boiler and location of presssure sensor it is a R1/R2 so over 15 years old
Agree, been working on boilers 22 years, fitted vaillants, (some 15 years ago) never had a problem at all as long as they are fitted on a clean system and serviced, people prefer to fit Logics because they are cheaper to buy and might make more profit from the job, very much doubt a Logic would get to 15 years old without needing replacing.
What’s the 1 boiler you wouldn’t fit and why? Don’t forget to subscribe if this video helps you out really helps me out…thank you everyone 👊👍

Great video as always, one of the best jobbing videos on TH-cam.

Thanks Luke really enjoy the mixed content you put out especially the jobbing videos all the best for the new year

Exactly.
Thanks for taking the time to upload Luke. Always great content. 👍👍

Remind yourself of that when your swaping a canoe filter and its just broke into 100 pieces😂
@ keeps us in work but yeah they can be a pain but that over a greenstar prv any day
Excellent work Luke you will be Doris favourite boy now
Cut a bit of card to fit inside the lid of the Nerrad kit box. Stick it in place. All the bits will stay in place.😊
If you had kept the foam bit that goes on top, all your nerrad bits would stay in place mate 😂
100% agree vailiant are a nightmare. Ideal boilers for me or baxi
Still working on 20 years old vaillant boilers...got one myself..say no more
Cheers Luke for another great video, looking forward to seeing the new content in the new year, though all your stuff is great 👍👌

About to replace my boiler so I’ll steer clear of Vailiant. What’s your recommendation? 24 years on our current Worcester boiler!
Vaillants are best man . Top video pal keep going
Check out screwfix part 2665R for connecting flexi tails to std compression fittings

They are the same with their Frenzy bar mixer showers they will not supply spare isolators that the bar mixer screws onto!
A dab of Loctite on the grub screws will prevent them coming loose

You can use their little tool and an Alan key fits through the handle. But yeah I’ve never had an issue with this either
Looks like there’s a screw missing on that Vaillant boiler pump 😅
For the Worcester the transformer went so you had to change the wiring harness and pcb is that correct. Can't the transformer be changed or they are obsolete.
Obsolete now like he said you've got to change the pcb and harness. It is dependent on serial number I'm led to believe.
Some of the WB boilers, you can still purchase the transformer. But it’s better to change to the new PCB as this has a switched mode power supply on board, so no future transformer failures in the future!

Have a look at the mental gasman video of the 2 Vaillant Boilers in the old people home

Agree re vaillant and viessman, would never fit one
Wo
I had an "Easyfit" and yes, it came off, flooded! Bristan take nothing to do with it," Instal error" Don`t buy them I say!

its a pretty old boiler and still working. Does that not convince you :)
Well, English water sucks. Scottish water is great for boilers 😋
Alpha.
That boiler need to be condemned immediately
What boiler?
