Outside Miraflores it's fairly easy to find "menu" (like a lunch special) for around 10 -15 soles. In other parts of Peru it is easy to find the menu for less than 10 soles. Normally it comes with a main dish, a soup, and a drink. BUENAZO!
The luxury of living in Lima is abundant fresh food. Peru is a great producer of world-class premium fresh food. Many fruits, vegetables, freshly harvested.
Lima ( or Peru for that matter ) is different than many other countries. I see that you spent under $5 for your lunch but if you look a little even in Miraflores, you will find something call "Menu" which has something to drink, soup and entrée for under that amount. Glad you are enjoying your time there!

I almost got a heart attack when you bought a 5 soles yogurt bcs you can get 1lt of that with 4 soles or less. But in the end I kinda get it. When you put prices in perspective, 12 bucks isn't that much and supermarkets are really accesible, plus you can get anything you need in one place.
