La Lucha Sanguchería - Right in the heart of Miraflores, across from Kennedy Park, is the extremely popular La Lucha Sanguchería. I wasn’t going to leave Lima without trying it, so we decided to eat there for breakfast before the Lima apartment tour. The coffee was a little weak for me, but the chicharron pork sandwich was amazing and the fries were outstanding. Total price - 41.50 PEN ($12.52)

The truth is outside of Miraflores most of the food in Peru is contaminated food. (comida sucia) That if you fed it to your dog he would get sick.

The truth is most of the food in Peru is contaminated. Miraflores is ok. But watch your belongings.The people here have no manners or etiquette. NONE.
I went to La Lucha Sangucheria in Miraflores last summer with my family and relatives. The chicarron sandwiches and the fries are amazing.

It's incredible see the potato variety in PERU , there is a potato type for french fries, another type for mash potato , another and another for each dish depending the need of taste, consistency and color the dish require.
Yessss, for example, we use yellow potato for causa or to smash them; white or purple potato for salads; cóctel potato for snacks; etc...
I love yo use Canchan potato almost for anything. I like its good texture
Here in Brazil we can only find 2 types of potato... I don't understand why these other types of potato aren't sold everywhere here in South America as we are so near Peru.
@@ericksousa911 but in Brazil you don't use that much potatoes on your food. I mean for you guys in Brazil your staple foods are rice and beans ( arroz e feijao ) while for us ( in Peru ) it is rice and potatoes ( and we quite often use the white corn as well ). @@abel82 do you eat cassava (mandioca) in Peru? Here in Brazil we don't eat only rice and beans, I think cassava is even more used , as it not only goes alongside rice+beans, we also make breads (similar to Chipas), cakes, porridge, tapioca (similar to tortillas), puré , god knows what more. Cassava here was the staple indigenous food, while potatoes where the staple indigenous food in Peru.
One day I will visit Peru and eat those potatoes and Cuy meat😋

The breakfast in Peru is delicious, and nutritious! My favorite is tacu tacu with an egg, a French bread roll, and maracuya juice. It is great! Pan Frances con palta, another favorite. And the occasional weekend Peruvian tamal, with the Peruvian sauce, salsa criolla, and Chanchamayo coffee, also great! 😊

Been to Peru last year and the people there are so amazingly friendly! Everyone was always willing to help me in anything and even more when they found out I was a tourist. Also, the food is probably the best i ever had, so delicious!! I will definitely go back for sure!

Come to visit Peru when the coronavirus thing be over. You Will feel very welcome
If you travel to Lima, go ONLY starting at the last week of May to the first week of September. That is winter in Lima and ALL other times of the year it is one of the most humid warm places in the world and you will sweat like crazy! You can still wear shorts and a tank top in the winter in Lima. It does not get cold.
Being an american who lives here. My advice is stay away from this filthy country. I have stories you would never believe. Spend your vacation money elsewhere.

The room and bathroom after the laundry and kitchen are used for the maid (for a employee) The new constructions are smaller, but almost all the 3 bedrooms apartments has those additional room and bathroom. Specially in the residencial zones, like Miraflores.

I don't advise you, the district where he's at right now is the best of the best of lima, you get outside here and you'll see what a real third world country is like: dirty streets, delincuency, slums , shambles in the streets, some places are even worse than africa

That pantry/laundry room with the 'hidden' bathroom is live-in maid quarters. I don't know if it's still common, but I lived all over South America from the 60s to the 90s, and it was customary to have maid's quarters in middle- to upper-class homes and apartments. I miss South America SO much! Good people, good food, good life.
YES, POTATIOES WERE DISCOVERED IN PERU, SO THANK YOU PERU FOR GIVING THE WORLD FRENCH FRIES, MASH POTATOES AND HASHBROWNS! I couldn’t live without my carbs!
