Thanks for the share NorCal surfer. hear this slur thrown around a lot in the community. i'm an open-water swimmer, who enjoys bodysurfing. i also work in education so i value learning. What's the etiquette for board surfers when sharing waves with non-board riding watermen?
@@sealrocka7305 It should be perfectly fine to bodysurf around stand up surfers. Just follow wave priority rules and wave etiquette. Don't drop in, first one on the wave, or closest to the peak has the wave.
EXACTLY. They are just out there wasting waves and energy. He's having a blast. Too many people stuck on ancient slow shitty boards. All jealous of foilers riding swell they could NEVER catch or ride even with a SUP. They need to get a grip. Most foilers ride the swell and enjoy sections NOBODY can surf. And even if they foil through a lineup and are in control, there shouldn't be an issue, just keep far enough way from others you can't hurt them. Literally no different than not running people over with a surfboard.
I see people whining about towing when others a re paddling. That's such a junk wave. The surfers aren't even able to ride or paddle for the sections he's riding. Foilers generally like to ride swells and keep out of the lineup. But even in the lineup, they can share waves with surfers.
No. If they want to stay on the outside, that’s fine but last time they came in through the lineup and almost took a few people out. Foil got destroyed after that and I ain’t mad
he didnt catch a wave anyone out of those (ahem) world class surfers would have caught so settle down... If he is dangerous yeah, f him but nobody out there is named "flipper " sooooo........
Stop the hate on foilers! They have to surf too! He didn’t get in anybody’s way. I also personally know the fouler and the boat driver and they are both extremely experienced.
a board surfer who doesn't know his shit could just as easily knock someone's head off. Im kinda sick of people hating on sports that are different to what they do.
@@meghancass3187 the ocean isn't private property, anyone can surf anywhere they want. They just got to be careful just like the guy is in the video. Don't see any problem with that.
towing in while people are paddling == kook
Couldn't agree more
Couldn’t agree more too

Kook of the day
Kook of the year more like it lol
Dude's a safety hazard
This is the kookiest thing ive ever seen
Why is this allowed in the line up?
Why is everyone butthurt this guy rode a wave nobody else could have even gotten
Foiling does look fun, but I wouldn’t do it with other people in the line up let alone tow when people are paddling
Totally agree
If the foiler didn't catch the wave there was a 99.9% chance no one else would either
Shhhh ... that's why everyone is angry.
Takes two to tow
What’s a kook?
Did they get their foil smashed by a surfer with a huge rock when it washed in?
😂 I think this is the same one and it got smashed up a few days after I filmed there

Every time I see this dude out there anywhere near the lineup I cuss him out.
He probably gets really scared of a dude with a perm, lol.
All the bored surfers struggling to catch a wave are pissed he is having fun. In this video he had zero effect on anyone else in the lineup.
You left out "shitty" ... "struggling to catch a _shitty_ wave."

My guy, learn how to foil at least before having the nerve to go out there. Plenty of other places to go and get better.
💯

Is he wearing a space helmet? Can't he be stopped? This shouldn't be happening.

One mistake tho and that foil will seriously damage someone
Flock off kook 🤣
Nobody hates him. People just wish he'd take the circus down the road a little bit.
its a sacred spot, not a playground for the rich. no respect

These things will kill someone soon, the foils are razor sharp.... stick to kite surfing areas, all kooks together
